The one who is abandoned,
Is the one who will betray
All his friends and family,
And throw his life away.
The only family he had,
Was the one he'd left behind
But his eagerness for revenge,
Had made him completely blind.
They gave him excuses,
When he only wanted love,
So misunderstood,
By the immortal gods above.
In the end he decided
That revenge was the manner
In which he would definitely
Get back at his father.
He fought for the enemy
that his friends fought against,
With every strike of his sword
Was the guilt that he sensed,
Before he gathered himself again
And rose to his own defense.
What he was doing was right,
Bringing the gods down.
There wouldn't be others like him
If they weren't around.
No feeling of being left
Alone to survive,
No feeling of no one caring
Whether or not they were alive.
But soon he began to realize
That this wasn't the way;
He had killed innocent people,
And let them suffer and pay
For something they hadn't done
But were blamed for anyway.
Finally, he sacrificed
Himself to do what was right,
And would always be remembered
As the hero who ended the fight.
In memory of Luke Castellan, the hero who sacrificed himself to save Olympus.
