Chapter 2 Euro-training
"That is so rude" Jamie rolled her eyes after her father had left. "You could say good-bye"
"Good-bye" John answered smiling at the young girl. If his math was right Jamie was roughly sixteen or seventeen. Shawn had mentioned her several times he just couldn't remember if he said Jamie was that young or not. In either case John figured he would have to stop staring at the girls legs.
"Your not allowed to leave" Jamie said matter-or-factly. "Would you like to run with me?"
"What?"
She pointed to the tredmill beside her "Run, on the tredmill with me"
"Sure" John set the machine and started a slow pace beside her, he hoped that Jamie didn't expect him to run really fast because he wasn't sure if his tired muscles could handle that.
"How come you stopped wearing orange?"
He just shrugged "Purple is better I guess"
"Yes! Thank you! I knew someone would agree"
John found himself laughing again, he couldn't help it. Jamie seemed to look straight through the fact that he was the new face of the company (Vince's belief, not his own) and treated just like an ordinary person. He hadn't found that in a very long time.
"So how long have you been studying tourism?"
"Since 1485" Jamie giggled "So in other words I can't remember"
John gave her a puzzled glance making Jamie go on "I have a broken brain so I can't remember stuff"
"I'm sorry to hear that"
Jamie cracked up laughing "With me around you have no choice but to hear it"
"I know louder" John instantly went to the Miz. Miz never seemed to shut up about himself at least Jamie had a sense of humor.
"We should do Euro-training" Jamie cut in excitedly.
"What may I ask is Euro-training?"
"I don't know but doesn't it sound fun?"
The weird thing was it did sound fun even though neither of them knew what it was. "Ok lets do it"
For the rest of the time Shawn was away Jamie and John talked about themselves and everything in between. John found himself liking the small girl more and more. She seemed to embrace life and challenges around her, just like he did. Before he knew it Shawn returned looking very stressed and tired making Jamie start giggling again.
"Ooh somebody has an ice-cream headache"
"Yeah and I could use a stiff drink"
"How can a drink be stiff? Its liquid"
"She's got a point you know" John chimed in, he knew what a stiff drink was but still Jamie made a very valid point.
"Ok shut it Cena and you, no more questions. Dad is very tired"
"Its because your old so lets go. Bye John" Jamie litterly pulled her father out the door letting John get back to his original training. Jamie had made quite the impact on him and John found himself liking it.
