Chapter 4 Manager of Farmers
Just as he did every morning since meeting Jamie, John waited at the entrance for his little buddy. He quite liked Jamie as a person she was a sweet girl who just needed a little more help. Most of guys and girls had warmed to Jamie but it was John that had taken the biggest shine to her, almost everywhere he went Jamie was right there beside and John loved every moment of it.
"Waitin for Jamie again Cena?" Wade teased the older man. Wade wasn't bad, his heavy accent a bit hard to understand sometimes but other than that he was fine.
"Yeah" John had a feeling what Wade's next sentence was going to be so he braced himself to argue. He refused to stop being friends with her just because the guys in the locker room didn't 'approve'
"You know the guys are talking" Wade started gently, since the whole Nexus vs John storyline he had grown to accept John as a friend and as a friend he was trying to stop the chaingang soldier from making a huge mistake. One that could cost him everything.
"Let them talk" John shrugged it off spotting Jamie finally randomly talking to herself about the bright sun.
"John you realise that getting involved with Jamie" "Whos talking about getting involved? We're friends"
"Cena shes at least fifteen years my junior and even I find the girl attractive" Wade tried to reason "And so you must find her a little bit appealing"
"No I don't Jamie is my friend thats it" John got the sentence out just as Jamie joined them.
"Good morning!"
"Morning Jamie"
"Hey Jamie, just think about what I said Cena" Wade walked away leaving them alone. John didn't know which part he was meant to thinking about because Wade didn't actually say anything of use.
"What was that about?" Jamie asked as they made their way inside the big building.
"Nothing Jamie, Wade was just being an idiot as per usual"
Playfully she swotted him "Don't be mean to the british guy, he talks funny"
"So does Justin Gabriel but I'm not gonna stop being mean to him either."
"Arr too many J names, his name is now Billy"
"Jamie you can't just change someones name"
"Shut it or I'll make you Mandy, so help me John I'll do it"
"Alright I'll be good" John laughed, suddenly he was being pulled towards the main locker room.
"I gotta confront Mandy before I lose the courage to do so"
"Ok Jam, calm down" John tugged outta her grip. "Which one is Mandy?"
"The british guy, now lets go" Jamie wrung her hands inpatiently. John took her hand and led her towards the main locker room where he knew Wade would be.
"There you are!" Jamie said in triumph pointing at almost everyone in the locker room. "You can't fool me Amanda!" She looked right at Wade, to his credit he managed to keep a straight face despite that all he wanted to do was laugh.
"What did I do wrong Jamie?"
"You must think your so smart but you can't fool me"
"You got me Jamie, what was I thinking trying to fool you"
"So what is it that you did Wade?" John was trying to keep a straight face as his friend did her version of a victory dance.
"Tell him Jamie"
"It turns out Wade here is secretly the manager of Farmers. My dream told me so" Jamie danced again "Yeah I realise it was a dream but Wade is the manager of Farmers, aren't you Wade?"
He was about to say no but seeing the hopeful look on her face he reluctantly agreed making Jamie cheer.
"Yay I'm friends with the manager of Farmers! Can you make sure that they have more jelly-beans next time?"
"Sure, let me get straight on that"
"And while your at it make sure mens wear has enough stock" John added making Jamie giggle all over again.
"Oh and I have this blender to return" Edge added in laughing at the look on Wade's face.
"Screw this I'm going on break now"
"Hey fix my blender!" Edge protested
"Sorry but as the manager of Farmers I can do what I want" Wade retorted going to do some training.
"He's got you there Christian" Jamie patted his shoulder "But I'm sure you can go to Monzas and get an ice-cream while you wait"
"Your right, I do feel like an ice-cream"
"Just remind Billy that you don't want beard in it"
"Jamie do you always dream about us working in different stores?"
Jamie pulled out some jelly-beans, the colourful lollies making her happy all over again. "No usually I dream about you naked and doing this" For some reason she did the well known Randy Orton pose. "But I guess last night I needed a break" Jamie popped several beans in her mouth, "Would you like one?"
"No thanks Jelly-bean" John grinned trying to ignore the teasing from the other men in the locker room.
"Jelly bean?" Jamie looked at him confused.
"Thats your new name since you like jelly beans so much"
Jamie bounced up and down happily, "Yay I get a nickname!"
