Chapter 6 Tough desicions
Three days after Jamie's incident with Miz, John was pulled into Vince's office. He expected that maybe he would get blamed although John couldn't see why it was his fault. All he did was punch Miz in the face which was a lot less than Miz actually deserved but Jamie had convinced him not to do anymore. So Jamie had the broken arm and Miz had a black eye, yeah life was certainly fair.
"You wanted to see me" John asked. Vince motioned him to a chair, a bit nervous John sat in front of the chairman. "Now would you like to explain what happened between you and Mike?"
John half shrugged "I punched him in the face"
"Why?"
"Because he broke Jamie's arm, so I tried to break his face"
Vince let out a heavy sigh "Yes I'm sorry to hear what happened to Jamie but I cannot have this sort of behavior in my company"
John didn't say anything as Vince went on. "John I think its in your best interest if you stop hanging around Jamie so much"
"What?"
"I think you should stop hanging out with Jamie, it isn't doing your reputation any good"
"Let me get this straight one month ago it was fine to hang out with her but now suddenly it isn't?"
"John one month ago incidents like this weren't occuring and the talk in the locker room is that you and Jamie are more than just friends"
"No we're not sleeping together if thats what your asking. She's sixteen for crying out loud! Jamie and me are just friends"
"Not anymore. You and her are to stop seeing each other. I have discussed it with Shawn and he agrees, Jamie will be going home later today"
"And if I say no?"
"Then I guess it comes down to which do you love more, your job or Jamie"
John sighed, his boss knew he would choose his job everytime. "Fine"
"I thought so"
After he calmed down he went to find Jamie, at least he could be the one to explain it without making her more confused. Jamie was washing the urn out very carefully with her good arm.
"Hey Jelly-bean, gotta a minute"
"Always got time for you God" Jamie grinned sitting down with him at the small table.
"Jamie I have to tell you something"
"Oh god you've forgotten how to eat again, c'mon I'll get the funnel"
"It's not that"
"Oh darn, I like the funnel"
"Jamie we're not allowed to hang out anymore"
"But why?"
In an even flow John began to re-tell what just happened in Vince's office, by the end of it Jamie was crying silent tears.
"Let me get this straight, I get my arm broken and your the one thats being punshied? How is that fair?"
"Its not fair but thats the way its gotta be unless I quit"
"No!" Jamie yelled so loud John jumped slightly. "You can't quit, if you do I'll be even sadder. No you have to stay and I have to go"
"Jamie I am so sorry" He tried to stroke her face but she reached away from him.
"I have to go now"
Heart broken Jamie ran out of the room, tears flowing down her face.
He had tried so hard to stop the others from hurting her but as it turns out it was John that had broken her heart.
