Chapter 12 Swing batter batter swing

Two days Jamie was still confused about what John had done, she had agonised over it many times. Friends didn't kiss there friends, she kept telling herself that. She grabbed her books and headed towards the big building, her father thought maybe it was best if she went back to school for a while, it was a way of getting normality back into her life. On the way she met up with her friend Felix. Felix was a tall mexican boy who had taken it on himself to look after Jamie while she was at school, Felix was the brother of her dead boyfriend Eli so Felix took it as his duty to look after the small girl. He quite liked Jamie and he saw why Eli loved her so much. When he died Jamie lent on him and he lent on her, they had become best friends since his death almost a year earlier. Felix knew all about John and what had happened between Jamie and the one she called Molly. Felix wanted to hurt him as much as John did.

"You ok Jam, you seem really quiet"

"Me is fine, how are you?" Jamie asked again twiddling with her blonde locks, Felix knew she only did that when she was confused or upset.

"Are you sure your ok?"

"Felix how come you've never kissed me?"

He just looked at her wondering where the hell that came from "Because we're friends and thats it"

"Now I'm more confused" Jamie muttered going into the building where English was held. Taking her stuff she went down the back and crashed into an empty desk, Felix right beside her.

"Well look who's back, the spaz" A boy named Luke Mcknight taunted from his seat, he, like Miz seemed to really like taunting Jamie.

"Shut up Luke" Felix snapped pulling out his Ipod for Jamie to listen too.

"What? Just commenting that Jamie was back, the wrestlers get tired of you going on about bright colours?" He teased again making Jamie finally lift her head up.

"Shut up you cock sucking faggot" Jamie snapped before putting her head back down. She was more angry at John and that kiss that came from no-where.

"Whatever retard" Luke sneered turning back around. Jamie saw nothing but red. Getting up she made her way over to a tall maori girl named Katrina Stockford, Katrina was a sports nut who only took english because she had too. To proove her unity to sports she was showing her best friend Catherine Finlyson her brand new softball bat.

"Can I see your bat for a moment please?" Jamie asked sweetly, she had only ever said hello to the two girls for fear that they would be mean to her as well.

Katrina didn't say anything but she let Jamie have a look at the metal bat. Before anyone could say anything Jamie stalked up behind Luke and gave one vicious swing. Luke slumped forward on the desk and everyone including Felix just looked at her stunned. Smiling like she had just seen something extra bright she handed the bat back to Katrina. "Thank you Sam"

"Thats ok" Katrina wasn't quite sure what to say, no one had ever seen this dangerous side of Jamie.

After her attack on Luke, Jamie was sitting in the office being told off for her actions. She still didn't get what the big deal was afterall Luke deserved it. Jamie knew that she couldn't exactly lie about remembering it because they knew that her memory wasn't that bad, besides it didn't help that her father was sitting right beside her.

"Jamie if this behaviour continues we will have to expel you" The principal said taking a little pity on the girl, of course Jamie would think what she did was alright. "But that may only exaspate things"

"What does that mean?"

"It means we cannot have you in the school if your going to attack others"

"No what does exaspate mean?"

"It doesn't matter, what matters is you cannot attack the other students"

"He deserved it"

"Jamie that means that you won't be able to do geography anymore" Shawn added in gently knowing how much Jamie loved that subject.

"Who cares? All the bad guys attack America anyways, its not like I'm going anywhere"

Ignoring the comment, the principal set out her punishment, Jamie was suspended for two weeks. Jamie didn't understand that, she got to have a vacation for putting someone in hospital, no wonder her sister Iziah liked to hurt people so much.

"C'mon lets get you home"

After they got home Jamie flew straight upstairs, all the way home Shawn had lectured her about not following her sisters mistakes. Instantly she text John, she needed answers and she needed them now.

Jamie put her phone down and patienly waited for his reply, it came sooner than she hoped.

Jamie just looked at it confused, she liked Felix but she didn't have the urge to kiss him like she did John. I thought we was friends?

Jamie read the text over again, she got the meaning it just took a while to sink in. U like me? like how I liked Eli? She knew that she had told John all about Eli and how he died.

Jamie didn't reply, just wondering how she was going to explain this to her father. Coming up with something she pulled on her shoes.

"Dad can I go and see Mandy?" Jamie asked coming down the stairs, she just hoped that her father said yes.

"Who is Mandy?"

"You know the girl with the bright orange shirts"

"Oh Mandy, sure but be home for dinner, dinner is at five that gives you three hours"

"Thank you dad" Jamie kissed his cheek before heading off towards John's.
