Chapter 20 Elves, gremlins and whats best
Raven had no idea what she was going to say to Jamie because mainly this went against everything she believed in. Shawn had went to find her so Raven could have this cosy little chat. Much to her surprise she heard her father apologize to Randy, she heard in his voice that he didn't like it but still he said he was sorry, that was a big step.
"Hey Raven, Dad said you wanted to talk to me" Jamie bounded in and shut the door. Still not losing her smile she sat down on the end of her bed. "So what did you want to talk about?"
"Its about John"
Her eyes widened, "Is he ok?"
"He's fine Jamie"
"Oh thank god I thought the elves got him"
"Why would elves be after him"
"There not, but they mistake people for gremlins you see and then they get cha"
"Oh then I should be very careful"
"Yes exactly" Jamie giggled before turning serious "What about John?"
"Dad knows your seeing each other again"
Her eyes went wider to the point of bulging "How"
"He saw John leaving via the window yesterday"
"I told him to go up the chimney" Jamie shook her head "No one ever listens to me or Santa, so Dad knows we're together"
"No, he knows that you guys are hanging out he doesn't know that your together" Raven explained patiently "I suggest you don't tell him either"
"I may be an idiot but I'm not dumb"
"The problem is Jamie, Vince has told his staff that if anyone sees or knows that John went agianst his orders then they have to come forward or get fired"
"I don't understand"
"Dad has to tell Vince about you and John or he will be fired" Raven said as gently as possible. Jamie however rolled her eyes
"He might as well tell granddad on me"
"You know what this means right Jamie"
She shook her head, blonde locks falling everywhere "Please don't say it Raven"
"Its whats best Jamie, you know that deep down"
"But I love him" She whispered, tears flowing down her face, she didn't want anyone to get fired but she couldn't see herself without John.
"I know you do Jamie, but you know what will happen eventually and I know you don't want Dad or John to be fired"
Jamie just collapsed in her sisters arms sniffling back the hurt ridden tears, she knew Raven was right because Raven was never wrong. "This isn't fair Raven"
"I know its not baby-girl but you know this is whats best for both of you"
Jamie just sniffed, all the unfairness of the world falling on her shoulders, Raven shuffled around in her jacket that was hanging by a near by chair,
"This won't help but I'm gonna give it to you anyways"
"What is it?" Jamie asked taking the several bits of paper from her sister, tears still sliding down her cheeks.
"Plane tickets, after the surgery I was gonna travel the world again but hell I've seen it so I thought maybe you would like to travel, think of all the bright lights"
"Whats the point of lights if John isn't there to enjoy them with me"
"Jam I know it hurts"
"Do you? Do you know it hurts"
"Remember Marshall and proof were ripped away from me too, believe me I do know how your feeling"
"Its still not fair"
"Believe me I know that too and somewhere around the world there is a fangirl crying because your so sad" Raven said gently stroking her hand.
"So I'm meant to just go and not tell anyone?"
"No Harmoni will go with you and I suggest you write John a letter because somethings are hard to say face to face"
Jamie burst into a fresh set of tears "I love him and just like Eli hes being taken away from me, why do the penguins hate me? I did nothing but love them"
"I don't know Jamie but if it helps when I go to the zoo next weekend with Alana and Randy I'll be sure to ask"
Jamie hugged her sadly "I love him and he's gonna end up hating me"
"He won't Jamie, if he ends up hating anyone, it will be Vince"
"Don't say that name, because I can sum him up all in one word. He's an idiot that needs a lightening bolt to the face and no amount of friendship will cure it"
Raven completely ignored how that sentence made little to no sense at all, even through her broken heart she was still the same Jamie. Raven just hoped she didn't lose that.
"Jamie are you ok?" Shawn asked coming in, quickly Jamie wiped her face. She didn't want to seem weak in front of her father.
"Yeah I had fingers in my eyes, Dad can we go I have to write a letter to Mandy"
"In a second, I want to say something to Raven"
Jamie smiled sadly before going out leaving them alone again.
"You did the right thing Raven"
"For who? Jamie or you?"
