For a city girl, I have to say, I was starting to get used to the whole country-like thing that, to me, La Push resembled. I mean, it probably did help that I've been here before... And while that was only once my memory was pretty sharp so I was making good progress by identifying little things that I remembered. My current choice of topic; the road that we were drivingon. It overlooked the dark water surrounding the place, all of which our local 'beach' also consisted of. And the cliff a little ways awaynow was definitely a sight by itself. Surrounded by wilderness and wild life. Maybe it was just the condition of the day, but everything just seemed more... breath taking, then it did last night. While me and Hikaru seemed to be in complete awe, Hikaru more then me because, again, I've been here before, Jacob and Embry barely even gave theplace a second glance. Jacob was quiet, listening intently to the radio with a smile that I easily realized to be mocking because of the car that he was in control of, and Embry was clearly pondering a choice of topic to get rid of the silence going on in the backseat. Hikaru was completely oblivious to it but... That's just her. My hand flew up to move my bangs back in their place after having gone through a hell of a lot because of the wind that was streaming in by the rolled down window beside me. I loved the whole 'fresh-air' thing, so while the constant strands moving in front of my eyes was annoying I managed to cope just because of the overall thrill. As retarded as this probably sounds, I felt so alive. So free. Not having to be coped up in that over crowded city I until now called home. Well, it technically was still home... This was really just temporary because of summer... I sighed, reaching over andpushing the radio key in before undoing the seat belt I had only remembered to put on a few seconds ago. Jacob had maneuvered the vehicle to the side of the road before coming to a full on stop. We were literally beside the woods now, and while the trees covered most of the view it was easy to tell that they were on a slope, leading upwards. If it wasn't for that, the occasional chuckleor yell was enough to make me sure. We were at the cliff now, the place where we would be meeting up with... UGH... Paul, and the others.
Could we just cut it short and give him a little nickname? Hows about jerk-face... Nah, jerk would do to. Or~ maybe even dumb ass? Ah, the choices sure were endless. "Were here!" Jacob chimed, cutting my blissful thoughts short before turning off the ignition and following that with opening his door. I grinned and did so myself, taking that extra step and jumping outside. It didn't take long for those damned pebbles to sneakinto my shoewear, continuing until they wereunder my feet...Maybe I should have grabbed running shoes or something instead? Then again, maybe this entire outfit wasn't all that great of an idea...But then again I didn't know we would have to go for a at Hikaru and the others I couldn't really complain. The girl had it worse off, she was wearing a dress for gods sake! Yet, she was ahead of the guys, already walking out of view into the trees and leaving me standing there like a total dork in the process. "Hey, wait up!" I yelled, running despite the now throbbing pain in my feet and managing to catch up with Jacob before he got too far. "Gonna be alright?" He asked, grabbing hold of my hand and charmingly helping me jump across a small ditch that blocked my way from the rest of them. I probably would've made the jump myself but chivalry wasn't a bad thing. Smiling thankfully up at him I gave another look at my badly chosen attire before responding, "If not you'll be the first I bug for a piggy back." Laughing at my remark he let go of my hand and started after the departed Embry and his love interest. Because he was so tall I almost had to run after him and while that did raise some problems as we were trying to get up the hill it did help speed up the whole 'journey'. Have to say, the view from the top of the cliff was A LOT nicer then at the bottom. And no, I wasn't talking about the grimy water or the hotly beating sun overhead, I was talking about the five shirtless guys standing beforeme and Jacob. Adding him in, it would be six, but I was currently worked up on ogling them to stare back and forth between the two. Hikaru was there also, throwing off the mix of hot guys, but it did help me recognize which one was Embry. Duh, the one standing RIGHT behind her. You might find this hard to believe but they all looked strangely similar. Shortly cut hair, masculine HAWT body, jean shorts... Hell, they even had the same tattoo on the same arm. This got me into worrying that they were part of some kind of gang but the thought quickly disappeared as I got a good look at the guy they were all also staring at. Standing a bit ahead of the group, in such a way that he looked like he could fall off the cliff at any moment, was the hottest guys back I have ever seen. Yeah, I know I just went through the whole conversation about how much they looked alike but he just... stood out.I couldn't explain the corner of my eye I could see Jacob lift his own shirt off before joining his 'brothers', and while that did make me walk forward to stand beside a worried looking Hikaru I never once took my eyes off the guy. There was a shorter kid in the group, whom I right away figured was Seth, (Because I hadn't seen him yet and last time I checked Sam and Quill weren't exactly young), so that leftthe oneI was staring atto be either Sam or Quill or... "Paul, if your going to jump just go ahead and do it!" Jacob yelled. Oh shit, are you kidding? I just went all gagga-googoo over that idiot?
Just as quickly as he spoke Jacob stepped forward and pushed the figure off the cliff. A loud yell erupted as he fell, followed by my friend covering her mouth and my own going slightly agape. What just happened? That couldn't have been safe. Jacob... Jacob just killed someone! "Are you crazy!" I hissed, stepping forward and shoving him back a little bit before leaning over just in time to see a splash appear in the waters below. "Calm down!" He chuckled, attempting to move closer though after an angry frustrated glance from me stopping in his tracks, "He's alright, really!". How long as it been since hes been under the water? He was probably unconscious or... or worse! A feeling, that I waved off as worried about the whole police situation that we'd soon have to deal with because of this, washed through my body. And, before I knew what I was doing, I had kicked off my sandles and moved even closer to the rocky ledge. "Katrina, get away from there!" A voice that I recognized to be Sam's yelled. I had no time for this. The guy was drowning and they were all just standing around trying to convince me everything was fine! If they weren't going to do something about this then I sure as hell was! Even if I didn't actually pass that CPR class... Not looking back I jumped off, gasping as the speed of the wind I was met with cut off most oxygen. From a distance now I could hear them all yell out my name in usion. The more feminine voice obviously being that of my pale faced friend. I didn't care about that, or the threat of the oncoming scary water... I was so caught up in 'lets play superhero' to give a damn! For a split second I remember asking myself what the hell had come over me. For a moment I realized it wasn't the threat of being arrested that I was freaked out about.
It was Paul that I was worried about.
Being met by the cold water was definitely a rude awakening. As right away I was overcome with waves of it that soon filled my lungs. Before I could even bat my feet in attempt to get back to the surface, my world faded to black. The last thing that I remembered crossing my mind was;
This isn't my week.
