Within a few minutes I was seated back on the living room couch, surrounded by everyone but Hikaru and Embry, who were sent into the kitchen, and Paul and Jacob who still hadn't returned.

Paul…

What the hell happened?

I could tell that Same and all them were hesitant to tell me. They kept passing eachother strange looks. Every now and then one of them would open their mouth to speak though not actually say anything.

"You guys going to tell me what's going on?" I questioned, staring at Sam mostly.

He sighed and stood his ground, his arms tied against one another and held tightly to his heaving chest.

"Paul will explain everything to you. Just go outside, it's…Safe now."

I groaned. I did not want to talk to him. Of all people, not him. Right now I was caught between hating him and being absolutely terrified of him. Bu despite that I stood up anyway, and retraced my steps back out of the house. It was if my feet had a mind of their own.

Jacob passed by me to get inside, not even looking over to meet my gaze but grinning never the less. From what I could tell his body was a little bruised up.

I looked forward once again, and my eyes met that of Paul's. His were narrowed, but his expression seemed to lighten up upon seeing me. He too looked beat up, his bare chest had a few noticeable scratches but other than that he looked fine.

"Hey" He said, his muscles twitched as if he had to force himself to not walk closer to me.

What the hell?

Instead of remaining a safe distance, like my mind was telling me to do, I paced closer to him until I could hear his shaky breathing.

"Explain yourself."

He paused at first, eyeing my body before living me into his arms bridal style. I struggled a bit in protest, but he was holding me so tightly that it made no amount of difference.

"Just relax, I can't explain all this to you here… With Hikaru around." I stopped my movement. Calming down as I was told to do, since this would be the only way to get the answers I wanted.

I didn't need to look up at him to know he was smirking.

Before I could say anything about it though he started to run, cutting me off as I watched trees and such rush by.

Noticing my discomfort his hold became more rash, so much so that it resulted in me being forced to rest my head up against his chest. His heart sounded like it was beating a million times per second.

Was that cause of me?

His walking came to an abrupt stop, leaving us in some clearing in, what I guessed, to be the middle of the forest. It wasn't a natural clearing either. Every tipped over tree and left over tree stump looked as if it was purposely caused.

Made a girl wonder…

"Where to start." He muttered, sitting me down carefully on one of the man once-trees around. He remained standing, towering over me. His expression twisted as he tried to find the words to say. I suddenly became aware of the situation. Middle of a forest with a guy that seemed more like a lunatic then normal… Add that to what happened, what I had witnessed a few moments ago and I was soon staring around for an escape plan. I guess if he tried anything I could hit him over the head with a branch—

"I'm a werewolf."

I blinked.

"Meaning I can transform into… A wolf?"

I blinked again.

He sighed and motioned for me to turn around.

"If you honestly think I'm going to turn my back to you—"

"Just turn around."

I rolled my eyes and did as I was told, listening as something hit the ground.

My eyes widened in fear. But before I was able to turn around and break into whatever defense strategy I didn't know, Paul walked up and rested on the ground beside me. Only… It was Paul the magical wolf this time.

I jumped out of shock, though ultimately calmed down as he looked up at me. I didn't notice till now, but my heart was beating just as crazily as his had been. I quickly passed it off as just being scared.

Awkwardly I reached my hand over and placed it on his head nervously. Scratching a place behind his ear that made his eyes close and his paws to twitch happily.

This was all…Weird, of course… But, strangely familiar… Strangely Okay…

"There's something else you aren't telling me." I analyzed, smiling lightly as he placed his head on my lap. Even with the previous joy that he had been going through, his eyes still fell a bit depressingly as I questioned him.

"Paul… Please tell me."

He whined a bit, though listened and returned back to being human. A process that seemed all too mythical to be real.

I looked away quickly, my face, I was sure, was a complete DARK shade of red. "Cover up, would you?" I shouted, shifting my legs up against my chest so his head fell off my lap.

"We'll, I couldn't exactly answer you in wolf form, could I?" He asked, his voice being followed by the sound of him putting his shorts back on.

Thank the high heavens.

I already needed enough therapy as it was without seeing THAT.

Unsure, my eyes remained close. "We'll, you could've warned me."

His laugh echoed behind me, causing me to jolt up in surprise. Man he was fast and you'd think I would've herd him getting that close.

My eyelids opened the moment he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me onto his lap.

I gasped, once again caught off guard.

"Your right, there is one more thing…" He stated, his breath hitting the back of my neck. Making me shiver.

"There's this thing called imprinting that we… We'll, everyone in the 'pack' eventually goes through..." He paused, giving me time to say the world ten times over in my head.

Imprinting, imprinting…

He kissed my shoulder, halting the process.

"In simple words it's like meeting your soul mate only, you can't live without the person you imprint on…"

Where was this going? I didn't like where I thought this was going…

"You're my imprint Yuki…"

He used my first name!

"I love you."

Fuck.
