Something light and fluffy brushed against Yuffie's ankle, and she jumped, whipping out her shuriken, ready to fight any monster that appeared. However, she didn't see anything, so she glanced down at her feet to see a small grey kitten staring up at her with emerald eyes. Breathing a sigh of relief, she put away her shuriken and knelt down on the grass closer to the kitten, who mewed and pawed at her knee, bringing a smile to the girl's face.
"Hello, little one. Where's your mother? Did you get lost?" She looked around to see if there were any other kittens, but she found none. This one must have wandered off and gotten separated from the others. Yuffie gently picked up the tiny creature and held it in front of her face, watching it squirm and kicks it's tiny feet. She couldn't leave the defenseless animal alone. It was just a baby.
Ah! An idea came to her. She knew how much Rude adored cats, so she decided to surprise him with the kitten. She giggled, delighted to have something to brighten the stoic man's life. She knew he would love her gift. Standing up, she held the kitten in her arms and headed off to find the sunglasses-wearing Turk.
