A cacophony of voices and laughter rang in Yuffie's ears as she sat at the counter in 7th Heaven. The entire AVALANCHE had gathered at the bar that night to meet up and have fun after not seeing each other in a long time. Merriment filled the room, and Yuffie couldn't help but smile in response.
"Come on, Yuff, come join us!" Tifa called to her. Yuffie jumped down from her chair and walked over to where the older members were seated and plopped herself on the floor. Everyone greeted and welcomed her, and a warm sensation spread throughout her body starting from her heart. What was this feeling?
"Why were you sitting alone over there, Yuff? Come on, you're part of our little family now!" Cid guffawed and slapped a hand on her shoulder.
Ah, family. That's right, she had forgotten what is was like to be alone and abandoned in a strange world. Ever since she had met Cloud and his party, she had never felt alone again. They all treated her like a sister, or a like a daughter in Cid's and Barret's cases. This band of misfit warriors was now her new family, a group of people who cared about her and loved her. A small tear appeared at the corner of her eye, and she quickly wiped it away before it fell. What was loneliness? She had forgotten.
