Hey all!
This is my first attempt at a fanfiction so don't totally slaughter me haha. It will probably be a very short one, 7-10 thousand words most likely. I am aiming for a Romeo/juilet type romance situation forbidden lovers and all that jazz.
Please feel free to leave comments if you like it! And if you don't please leave a comment on why and how I can fix it! Thank you and enjoy!
(It's this gets enough likes I am willing to consider a full length novel rewrite sometime in the future.)
The sun beat down mercilessly on Number 4, Privet Drive, as Harry Potter sat at the window, staring out at the world outside. It had been a long summer, and he was ready to leave the suffocating confines of the Dursleys' house and return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry had spent the last few months living with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and cousin Dudley, and as usual, it had been a miserable experience. The days had been long and tedious, filled with endless chores and little to no contact with the wizarding world.
Harry had tried to keep himself busy by reading his school books and practicing spells in secret, but it wasn't the same as being back at Hogwarts with his friends. He missed Ron and Hermione terribly and longed for the days when he could fly on his broomstick and cast spells to his heart's content. As the summer drew to a close, Harry found himself conflicted. On the one hand, he was excited to be going back to Hogwarts, but on the other, he was apprehensive about what the new school year might bring. Harry had a sinking feeling that things were about to take a dark turn, and he couldn't shake the feeling of impending doom.
Despite his misgivings, Harry was determined to make the most of his last few days with the Dursleys. He helped Aunt Petunia with the cooking and cleaning, even though she never thanked him for his efforts. He endured Dudley's taunts and jibes, knowing that it wouldn't be long until he was back at Hogwarts, surrounded by people who understood him.
As the days ticked by, Harry grew more and more restless. He spent his days pacing around the garden, watching the clouds drift by and dreaming of the adventures that lay ahead. He longed to see Hagrid again, to explore the castle's secret passageways, and to learn more about the world of magic.
But as much as Harry longed to return to Hogwarts, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. He had heard rumors about a mysterious new teacher who was supposed to be joining the staff, and there were whispers of dark forces gathering in the wizarding world. Harry knew that he would have to be on his guard, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As the last day of summer drew to a close, Harry packed his bags and said goodbye to the Dursleys. He felt a pang of sadness as he left the house, knowing that he would miss them in his own way. But he was also excited to be leaving behind the monotony of his summer and returning to the place where he truly belonged. As he walked down the street, Harry felt a sense of anticipation building inside him. He knew that the new school year would bring its own set of challenges, but he was ready to face them head-on. For Harry Potter, there was no place like Hogwarts, and he was determined to make the most of every moment he spent there.
