After 15 minutes, as the rain intensifies, a neon yellow taxi arrives at the 21st police district In Chicago

"That will be 25 dollars," the driver says. The young woman's attention is drawn to him when she turns toward him and sees the gesture, he makes for her to pay him.

The driver snapped looking at the woman impatiently, "You gonna pay me or not?"

"Oh, right," the brunette answered, digging into her bag, and searching around for her wallet.

Panic seized her as she realized that her wallet was nowhere to be found. Nervous giggles escaped her lips, but she quickly regained her composure and turned back to face the taxi driver.

The taxi driver got out of the driver's seat and made his way over to the left passenger side door. he flung open the door and threw the brunette out onto the street, along with all her belongings.

"Hey, you jerk!" She yelled as the taxi driver started the engine and drove off quickly. Resulting in the puddle of muddy water splashing all over the woman.

She huffed in frustration as she struggled to get up, lost her balance, and fell back again. Upon standing, she realized that her umbrella had fallen out of the taxi during the tumble.

"Just Great", she grumbled under her breath about her drenched clothes and made her way up the stairs and entered the 21st district.

Walking inside, looking ahead, the woman at the front desk takes notice of her.

As Burgess noticed her Sargent stopped in the middle of their conversation, she turned her head to observe the woman as well.

"Hello there," Platt said to her

"Hello," the woman replied, moving toward the front desk. Sargent Trudy Platt looked up at her and was surprised by the appearance of this stranger. While Officer Burgess exchanged glances between the woman and Platt, she said nothing.

As the awkward silence was interrupted by nervous laughter, Platt began focusing. "What do you need?" she asked, her voice devoid of emotion.

I was instructed to report to the 21st district. "I'm here as a substitute for Antonio Dawson from Intelligence," I was told to come here to speak with Detective Olinsky. The Curly-haired brunette answered.

"After you fill out the forms," Trudy Platt said as she slid the forms over, "I'll notify them you are on your way up."

"Hey Burgess, let's make sure she is dry before you bring her upstairs." Platt snapped at her patrol officer.

She shouldn't get sick before getting started on her first day." Platt says to her.

"Copy Sarge"

"Right this way". Burgess gestures as she leads the mysterious woman to the locker room to change.

Meanwhile, upstairs intelligence is already working themselves hard for the day.

...

Is there anyone who knows what happened to the case file on this desk?" Ruzek asked.

"Are you talking about Anderson's case file?" Lindsay asked, taking a seat at her desk.

"Yes, that's it," Ruzek replied,

"Wasn't that the one Sumner's was supposed to turn in?". She questioned, taking a sip of her coffee.

Yes, but we all know what happened to her" Adam replied looking into each drawer.

"Doesn't that mean there's a spot open?" Halstead asked, leaving the break room.

"Yeah, Kevin going to be taking her place," Ruzek replied now closing all the drawers.

Walking into the bullpen, Olinsky turned to Lindsay and asked, "Is Hank in his office." Erin gestured towards it. Knocking on the office door, Voight called out to Olinsky.

Hank greeted Al as he entered the room. What's this about?" he asked, looking up from the paperwork on his desk.

"It's about Antonio's fill-in while he's recuperating at med," Al replied.

"Yeah, I'm aware." "As I reviewed the file, I noticed that she had perfect scores on everything in the Academy. The only thing missing from the file is a photo of her." Voight said.

"Yeah, I was going to go get her myself when I got a call saying she's already on her way," Olinsky replied.

"Okay, that's fine," Voight nodded

When Voight and Al left the office to go into the bullpen, they heard voices coming from the stairs. They had gotten up to see how the unit was doing on the case filing.

All of them in the bullpen stopped what they were doing when they saw Burgess and the curly-haired brunette.

Burgess and the brunette both glanced forward as they noticed the silence.

"Hello", the woman waved.

But the room was just silent until Erin spilled some of her coffee looking at her.

Both Burgess and the curly hair woman both exchanged confused looks.

Then Voight cleared his throat.

"Burgess, who is this?" he asked

Burgess replied, "Oh, this is Vega." As she approached the two men, she proudly introduced herself.

"I'm Valerie Vega," she greeted.

The Academy had instructed me to report to the 21st District to meet Detective Alvin Olinsky."

"So, you're the rookie I picked?" he asked, breaking the awkwardness. With an introduction to everyone in the unit.

Officer Vega would be filling in for Antonio during his absence." Voight then announced to everyone.

In an attempt to make it less awkward, Adam tried to make it a cheerful greeting for the new member of the team for now. It made the situation even more awkward than before.

"Burgess, you can leave now," Voight said.

"Copy" she replied as she said goodbye to Valerie before heading downstairs.

Voight pointed to the desk behind Erin, "Vega, you can take the seat there."

Valerie nodded and walked toward the desk as she met Erin's eyes. Erin was a bit star-struck by Valerie's appearance.

When Valerie smiled, Erin snapped out of it and smiled back.

After taking her seat, Valerie was a bit lost on what to do. So, she was going to ask Lindsay,

Then Olinsky answered her question before she could ask. "You're used to filing," he said.

"Yes," she nodded.

"Alright do that for these case files," he said, handing her a large stack of papers to file

"Hey, Vega, I know you just got here but have you seen A case file it's in a blue folder," Adam asked.

"Um... All of these are in blue folders," she responded, confused.

Looking around, her eye caught a blue folder with a pink tab sticking out of it.

"Does the blue folder have a pink tab coming out of it?" she asked Adam.

"Yes, that's the one," he said with a light of hope filling his eyes.

"It's underneath the desk in front of you" she pointed.

"What seriously," he said bending down and finding the Case file under Sumner's desk.

"Alright," he said, reading the Folder saying, Anderson.

"It's your first day and you're already saving lives," Adam smiled.

This caused her to laugh, but it was still a bit awkward as everyone else was still quiet.

For the rest of the shift, the unit continued to fill out case files and organize them.

Because Valerie had done everything as asked and finished early. She left the bullpen early, leaving only Erin, Voight, and Al.

While Erin finished filing the rest of the case files she was assigned, both Voight and Al prepared to leave the office.

"What do we think about Antonio's Fill in?" Olinsky asked them both.

"I had heard of two people looking the same before, but that was frightening", Erin replied as she closed the file cabinet.

"Alright, so you weren't aware of what she looked like until today," Voight said as he locked up his office.

" I was surprised like the both of you," Al said

"I have never seen you two look so shocked," Erin replied.

"You were just as shocked", Al remarked

"I just can't get it out of my head she looks exactly like Camile did when she was her age," Voight said

Even their smiles are the same. "It's probably just a coincidence," Erin said.

" You're most likely right" Voight agreed.

"While we know Vega can handle the paperwork," Voight said as the three of them were leaving the district, "let's hope she's up to the challenge outside the bullpen."
