A series of drabbles about Kiba and Hinata's past, some team 8 stuff, stuff that I think would lead to a KibaHina romance.

It will eventually line up with my other work, "It Was Okay", a full story about their romance. Hope you guys like these. I just type 'em out whenever they come to me. I love them and team 8 so much.

disclaimer: nothing is in order. stuff may contradict. it's mostly fluff with a bit of angst. Thanks!

When she first gave him a flower, he ate it.

"Kiba!"

"What?! I thought-"

"Hmm…" Her hum was slightly annoyed sounding, but she smiled regardless.

The next time wasn't for a while, but eventually, she did present him with another, this time a violet, and he understood not to try and eat it. Instead, he attempted to admire it, though he wasn't really sure what was so great about it.

"I saw this flower and thought of you, Kiba. I'm going to press it later, and I'll give it to you." Hinata's voice was light and absent of stuttering this afternoon, and he raised his eyes to meet hers. At her words, he studied the flower more thoroughly. What about this thing would remind her of him? "In Hanakotoba its meaning is 'sincerity'. No one is more sincere than you."

"Oh." Kiba gulped, looking back up at her, and felt his chest tighten, swelling. Her eyes were closed and a smile enveloped her face, pleased that he was taking it more seriously this time. "Th-thanks, Hina."

"It also means 'small love,' but we don't have to talk about that." A shy giggle escaped her lips and Kiba's heart absolutely thumped at the comment.

"R-right." Now he stuttered.

"Although, I do love you, Kiba. So perhaps it is appropriate," she continued on, completely unaware of what she was doing to him. Her gentle nature always clashed with his fiery one, but he liked it that way, normally. But right now, he wanted to disappear, especially when she opened her eyes, and a look of concern washed over her. "Are you okay? D-did I say something wrong?"

Kiba shook his head quickly, pleading with his own mind to stop making his face red. Swiftly, he got up and pulled her in for a hug so she wouldn't be able to see his face, and sighed a breath of relief when she giggled once more. He held her for a moment before giving her a shy kiss on top of her head. He muttered as quietly as he could. "I love you, too, Hinata."
