"Alright," Lloyd placed the box full of letters in a table in the Monastery of Spinjitzu. "Form a line, ladies and gentlemen, letters are coming up!"
Harumi,Jay, Nya, and Kai formed a line as Lloyd got the cards out of the box.
"Did you forget to check our mail box again?" Kai asked, for the box was a bit too full for all those cards that would just come today.
Lloyd shook his head. "It was destroyed, remember? We just finished rebuilding the mail box, so some of these cards might be a bit outdated."
"Ah, that makes sense."
Lloyd then looked at Zane and Cole, the only two who haven't lined up for cards.
"Aren't you guys gonna get your cards?"
"I don't have an actual family to send me cards Lloyd." Zane calmly reminded Lloyd.
"Oh, right...Cole?"
Cole just shrugged as he grabed a bottle of water and sat in a chair. "I haven't gotten letters in years from my parents, what makes you think I might get one right now?"
From the others, Jay looked uneasy while the others just stood feeling sorry for a few moments before Lloyd cleared his throat and checked the box and pulled out the cards inside.
"Harumi...this one's yours from...Bethany?"
Harumi brightened as she grabbed the card, and looked at the group. "Childhood friend. I'm surprised she found my location."
"Kai, Nya, this one is yours from your parents: Ray and Maya."
Kai and Nya eagerly grabbed the card and opened it.
"Oh, Kai, you got another one." Lloyd laughed. "From Skylooor." Lloyd finished the last word singing and laughed harder at Kai's blush.
"Oh, give me that!" Kai snatched it with a smile and once he sat down, eagerly ripped it open to read it.
"You know, I miss their parents and Skylor." Jay said. "They were fun. Glad they decided to help us a few days rebuild before they left."
The others nodded.
Lloyd sighed, there was two more cards left in the box and he gasped at the one he picked up.
"I can't believe it..."
"What's wrong?" Cole asked.
"It's-It's from Misako...to me." Lloyd said, he grinned. "Her son!" He was about to open it but decided to first give the last person his or her card.
As he reached for the final card, Cole sighed at took a sip of the water.
"To Cole. From Your Dad."
Cole almost chocked on his own drink as he spat the water out, then glared angrily at Lloyd.
"This isn't funny, man." There was a hint of warning in Cole's voice.
Lloyd shook his head. "No, really, this one's from your dad. About five days ago. Check for yourself."
Cole frowned, but took the card, ripped it, and began to read.
"Dear son, I write to you this card with joy. I think we should spend some quality time, so then I realized, why don't you leave that ninja stuff of yours for at least this coming Monday? Oh, and I have a surprise, I can't wait for you to know about it! Love, your Dad."
"Cole, you should definitely pack your things now and go to the nearest train station tomorrow morning, it'll be fun, plus, you'll need a break." Wu said as he came into the room.
"Also...didn't your mother also write to you?" Nya asked. "Is she always busy? You never really mention her, you know."
Cole gulped at the word, sensing this, Jay put a protective hand around him, making Cole manage to sigh to regain his balance and turned to the others. "Guys...this is really nice from my dad's part, but we got a lot to do here." He stood up to leave the room. "But I'll tell him thanks, I'll write him back."
Once he exited the room, Cole threw the paper in the trash. "I promise."
The next morning...
"Cole, wake up." Lloyd nudged him gently. "Your ride is coming in thirty minutes. You have to catch your train, you know. Nya and Zane are already waiting at the train station."
Cole shut his eyes tighter. "Ugh...alright, alright." He stood up in his bed and yawned.
He was about to remove his blankets until he felt something...funny.
He looked down, and to his shock, noticed he wasn't covered with blankets at all since there wasn't even some in his bed.
"Ugh, Lloyd? Did you washed my..."
Cole gasped at the next thing he saw.
His room.
It was practically empty.
The only thing left was his furniture, but his books, clothes, shoes, shampoos, and sheets were all gone.
"Lloyd...what did you do?"
Jay and Kai then entered the room. "Well, since you weren't gonna pack, we packed all your stuff for you. They're already at the train station."
Cole turned and glared at Jay. "Are you hearing this, man?" He said angrily.
Jay rubbed the back of his neck uneasily. "Well...you do need a break and time with your father. Plus...uh...they made me do it."
"Better get ready." Lloyd said in a humorous way. "You don't wanna miss your train."
Cole growled and quickly put on some pants on top of his boxers and put on a shirt before running to the entrance of the monastery.
"I'll start the car!" Kai said with a hand raised, smiling, and with eyes closed as he left the room.
As Cole ran, he accidently bumped into Wu.
Cole gasped. "Sensei! I didn't mean-"
"Have fun." Wu simply said to him before nodding and continuing walking.
Cole stood, stunned by his calm reply before he rushed again.
"The wheels of Ninjago go round and round! Round and round! Round and round! The wheels of Ninjago go round and round..." Kai and Lloyd sang, the two were in the front seats of the car. Meanwhile, Cole kept glaring at Jay, who just kept putting his hands together with uneasiness. Jay then jumped as Lloyd and Kai turned from the front seat and sang now in the back. "Aaaaall through the tooooown!!!"
Lloyd and Kai then burst out laughing as they continued driving while Cole crossed his arms around his chest and scowled.
"Welp. We're here." Lloyd said as they went through the entrance of the train station.
Jay unbuckled his seatbelt and reached for Cole's-but was stopped. "I can do this." Cole growled, unbuckling his seatbelt and getting off the car. Jay sighed and did the same.
Nya and Zane, who were looking for they're friends, smiled as they now appeared.
"To Ninjago City leaves in five minutes. Last call. I repeat: To Ninjago City leaves in five minutes."
Cole sighed as he looked at the train. He still couldn't believe he was actually doing this.
Lloyd now stopped smiling from sillyness and now smiled sweetly as he gave Cole a gentle shove. "Just have fun Cole. That's all you have to do."
You don't understand, Cole wanted to say, but nodded as he got on the train.
A few moments later, the engines began, from the window, Cole could still see the Monastey of Spinijtzu. He stood a few moments there, not wanting it to be gone, soon a tree disturbed the view, and once it passed, the monastery was no longer seen.
"There he goes." Lloyd said as he waved goodbye, now half upset one of them was gonna be gone for a week.
"I CAN'T DO THIS!!!"
The others turned to were the voice came from, almost as soon as Jay ran to the train.
"Cole, hold up! I'm coming!" He panted as he ran towards the last parts of the train were there was mainly boxes and no person went.
"Jay, wait!" Lloyd rushed, the others running behind him.
Finally, once they made it, Lloyd glared at Jay.
"Why would you do that? We can't get off anymore."
Nya smiled. "All I can say is: Ninjago, here we come!"
