Hi! So yeah, this is my first story here on because I haven't really figured out how to post stories here. I like a lot of stories here and thought hey maybe I should post one here, and oh look here's something I haven't read yet. So, it must be somewhat if not, completely original.
(Probably not lol.)
Please give me feedback and if I don't see your comment it's because I don't know how to check comments. I don't even know if this will get popular lol. So, thanks for reading!
Side note: This is like an intro so its not a prologue, the next chapter is the prologue.
EDIT: SORRY! I didn't know disliked dashes so much. Why don't you accept dashes god damn it!? So I fixed it with the XXXxxxooxxxXXX. That's all sorry, but it leave some major confusion probably to some people cause wow- I look here and have 131 people read my chapter? Really? That's incredible honestly,
For part of my life, I had believed that revenge was the only way I could avenge my family. But halfway through my journey I had learned that there is a difference between vengeance and revenge. I hear it spit out from people's mouths as if they mean the same.
But ultimately, they have different meanings when put in a sentence, and put side by side to be compared. I ultimately decided that revenge wasn't that being desired, but I continued what I did for the justice of the people. But by that I ultimately avenged by family, so others don't suffer the way they did.
But there was still much blood spilled.
Justice revenge and vengeance are tied together loosely, yet tight enough to be woven into the same tale or legend. They are words that signify rebirth, the beginning or the end of a man or woman's story.
it is most common for these stories to be told in legend.
This story is like many others, except it holds something different. It doesn't start with revenge or petty killing.
It starts with the yearning to be a hero.
I do not know why this boy wants to be a hero so badly, but he thinks the only way to be a hero is to become these huntsmen. A huntsman to what?

Years ago, I had died in the hands of age; I spoke to this boy threw the apple of Eden without a proper conversation.
I had walked down the halls of the dungeon beneath Altair's castle, putting out the candles one by one to try and put to rest to this place. To still be lit after all these years is something impressive, but the torches need to rest.
When I did, I could feel the speeches that those before me spoke.
"What does it tell you? What do you see?"
Someone had spoken behind me, yelling so her voice could reach someone.
"Strange visions and messages of ones who came before, of their rise."
I had paused. A man had spoken, was that?
"And their fall."
I let another flame rest, hearing the women speak once again.
"But what happened to us, Altair? To our family! What does the apple say?"
Reaching the end of the hall, I had entered a library. One filled with knowledge most probably lost to time. It was in a circle, and they all pointed to the center, the floor having a diamond in the center.
Reaching the bookshelf to the middle, I saw chairs laying around all pointing to the diamond.
"Who were the ones who came before? What brought them here? How long ago?"
My vision was clearing, and as it did, I could better firmly tell there was a shape that held the diamond. It was the shape of the creed. This only confirmed more that I was in the correct place
"Maria? Where are you?"
My eyes had bulged, that had come out of my own lips. The same two that had said so many things, so many bad and outlandish things. coming out of my own mouth.
I walked forward putting the candle stopped to the ground, walking towards the end of the library from where I entered. I saw it.
A vision.
I saw Altair put the apple behind a wall.
"If they ask you, say that I sent the apple away. Tell them I sent it to Cyprus, or Cipango, or that I sent it into the sea. Tell them anything to keep them from this place. This apple must not be found, not until the time is right."
Placing my hands on the wall, I turned around to see a chair; I walked around it before seeing the skeleton laying underneath the hood. This was...
...Altair
I knelt down and reached for the inside of his robes, pulling the key to what's behind the wall.
The apple. An ancient piece of technology that now has outlives its creators, the ISU, primary made to control mankind, to use them as their workforce.
The templars had wanted to use this piece of history to control mankind, to make a new world order. But once placed in someone's hands for too long, it drives them to the point of insanity.
It is said power had changed people, but the apple is the embodiment of such a statement.
I stood up from my kneel, walking to where the wall is. Walking forward the wall retracted, the key in my hand glowing more as I get closer.
There it was, the Apple of Eden.
"Another artifact?" I said reaching the apple.
At the time I never understood what it was for, I only knew it as another artifact.
"No,"
I wish I took it.
"I have seen enough for my life."
I dearly wish I did.
The apple had pulsed, and I was suddenly hearing the name of a man I didn't know. Of a man thought of as the new messiah of the new world, the templars had succeeded. They did in fact make a new world order. But not in the way first imagined.
"Desmond?" I said uncovering my eyes.
"I heard your name once before, Desmond, a long time ago. And now it lingers in my mind like an image of an old dream."
I had turned feeling the world glow, the edges and crevices of everything started to glow a gold.
"I do not know who you are, or by what means you can hear me. But I know you are listening."
The apple did not want me to speak to Desmond, he wanted me to speak to a different person. A man from an entirely different time.
I had taken off my blades, the weapon that had killed so many. A weapon that had given so many freedoms. Just threw them away like they were some worthless weapons for murderers. But at one time in my life, they probably were.
Taking my sword from my hip, I dropped it to the ground in front of the apple.
"I have lived my life as best as I could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. But here at last I discover a strange truth. That I am nothing but a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries..."
I thought it was good that I spoke to the man in the future. i thought he would be someone who believes that humanity should live no matter the circumstances. That was not the case.
"Maybe you will answer all my questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all the suffering worth something in the end."
I turned around looking at the embodiment of a man, a man with a white sweater. A man who does not belong in the creed.
"Now listen..."
Desmond Miles is not an assassin. He is a murderer who led the new world order to a new downfall.
XXXxxxooxxxXXX
December twenty-third. twenty twelve. Was the day Desmond was supposed to die protecting the world, the day where he chose to be the new messiah to the world. You see, Desmond had a choice.
He could either choose to die for humanity allowing it to live on, so he could choose to let the world die. Essentially making him a new god for the world.
He chose the latter over the former.
Nobody had known why he had done this; nobody had known why about most of his actions following.
That is when the god of light and the god of darkness had been born. Most not knowing what it is or what it was. But the apple was an artifact that had been given to bless the world, a fifth one apart from the other four separating them from the four that humanity has, and the one the god has with him.
The four other relics were of choice, knowledge, creation, and destruction.
The apple still hidden above in the heavens created by the Eden's gate.
Soon the world fought, it died once more in the hands of Salem after being bewitched by the god of light. Holding the apple, she was punished with immortality while the god of darkness watched.
Salem angry, destroyed part of the world basically resetting the earth once again. This being the third time the earth had suffered such a calamity. All of it dying.
I had sadly seen it all in the apple, after I had encountered it once part of me was copied from my mind and put into it. I Connor Kenway had been laying in the dirt for millennia, seeing civilization get destroyed and made for two times.
I was here.
Not surviving.
Being tortured.
It is now my job to go out and look for the leader of the new creed, they have not assigned it to me, but it feels like my destiny in this apple. I wish for the new leader to be good, to be better than us all. To be better than my father who I killed and better than my grandfather who helped the templars to help keep balance.
Until them I am here, wishing and waiting for the world to continue as it is. That is until I am found, and to my shock I lay near another piece of Eden. it looked different, it was changed, reforged to a different sword.
But there he is, the man who will hold the future.
