Chapter 1

They finally won, Sugo had been defeated, Asuna was freed, and their family reunited. Yui was happy to finally have her family back.

It was finally the day of summoning. Today Louise would show that she was a mage and could cast a spell. She walked up to the circle and began chanting. "My name is Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere…."

"Do you hear that?" asked Yui.

Kirito and Asuna were too distracted by the world seed and the appearance of Kayaba to notice.

"Pentagon of the five elemental powers, heed my summoning and bring forth my familiar!"

Suddenly a green portal appeared in front of Yui. Deciding to inspect it herself, Yui flew around it a few times before touching it. "eee!" she yelped in surprise as the portal sucked her in.

As soon as the system detected the anomaly and that it had taken a program from it. Cardinal started to work on retrieving the stolen code. Cardinals interactions with the portal caused it to target the system and start taking everything.

"what !?" Hearing Yui's shout, Kirito and Asuna turn only to see a green portal. Before they could do anything, the portal suddenly started to expand exponentially. All across the virtual world, players were blinded by a bright green light that engulfed everything.

The will of the void, after having consumed a whole realm, started trying to understand what it had consumed. The first thing was the small program— young fairy, next the virtual world— Alfheim and lastly, the players— the fae. Once it was done, the fairy was sent to the one who requested the summon, while the rest were sent to a vacant location 50 miles off the western coast of Tristan.

Kaboom! The end of Louise's spell was met with the usual deafening explosion and dirt flying everywhere.

*cough* *cough* "I knew this would happen". "kick her out already!". The students around all started shouting at Louise, mocking her for her failure once again.

"it was simply a mistake, professor Colbert please let me try again". "I'm afraid-" Colbert started, but something in the smoke caught his attention. Blowing away the smoke with a wind spell, reveals a tiny girl with wings sitting on the ground, coughing from the smoke that was in the air. "It appears that you did manage to summon something after all, hurry and complete the binding".

As Louise looked at the small girl, she remembered stories of fairies that she was told when she was a child. Louise was ecstatic, she had summoned something and not only that, she had summoned a fairy. As far as she knew, no one had actually seen a fairy before.

"Hello there" Louise said softly as she scooped up her small familiar and brought her the eye level. Yui on the other hand was extremely confused on where she was and who had picked her up. From what she could tell, these people were some kind of students, as most were young and in some kind of uniform.

"Where am I?"

"You are in Halkeginia and I have summoned you to be my familiar". Familiars, Yui had seen with spell caster on occasion, contracted companions of mages. But right now all Yui wanted to know was "where are father and mother?"

"What?" it took a few seconds for Louise to understand what Yui just said and a few more to realize the implications. She didn't just summon a fairy, she summoned the child of fairies. Fairies from legend were mischievous and often vengeful.

"Miss Louise, please finish the binding so we can move on". Broken out of her thoughts Louise decides to make a deal. "I can help you find your parents, but for now I can look after you, if you agree to help me". After some thought and hearing Louise's request "alright, we will help each other!" she states confidently.

Nodding to Yui's answer, Louise starts to chant again. "pentagon of the five elemental powers, grant your blessing upon this creature and bind it as my familiar" Louise then kissed Yui on the forehead. As the spell seems to end- "Ahhhh!" Yui starts to shout in pain, as the familiar runes are inscribed onto her forehead.

"I- I need a healer! Please!" Louise starts to panic holding her familiar in her hands who had fallen unconscious…

Kirito woke up on the top floor of the world tree. The last thing he remembers is defeating fairy king Oberon in a duel to save his love Asuna. "We did it. We finally did it Yui". After not hearing a response both Asuna and Kirito look around "Yui…?". Not finding their daughter nearby, Asuna uses her abilities as an Alf to communicate with the world tree. The response she got was more like a series of thoughts then an answer "archon position vacant, current position unknown, sense surroundings, "Yui" location unknown, mana trace direction east, further sensing, target not within Alfheim"

"She is somewhere to the east of Alfheim? How in the world did she get there?". Looking far out to the east and enhancing her vision with magic, Asuna is able to make out a landmass far to the east. "There is some land far to the east that wasn't there before".

"Archon position vacant, Archon position vacant, Archon position vacant, Archon position vacant"

Now that Oberon was dead, the world tree was requesting for a new ruler to bind with it. Asuna, as the only available Alf, was the only one who could take the position. "What should we do, Kirito? the world tree has stalled but we need to find Yui".

"You try to get a hold on the world tree, Alfheim will be in trouble without the world tree. I will try and figure out what happened and look for Yui"

"Alright, Good luck Kirito"

Kirito nodded to Asuna before jumping off the side and flying toward the undie capital to the east.

"Archon position vacant"

Asuna wasted no time in starting the binding ritual "I Asuna, with the pure blood of the Alf, hereby swear to watch over the balance of Alfheim and the nine fairy races. And for as long as I live, I shall continue to act as the archon of the world tree".

"Archon acknowledged, Alfheim awakening, welcome archon fairy queen Asuna"

"Report any damage or abnormality caused by the anomaly?"

"Minor earthquakes, and mass loss of consciousness across all inhabitants of Alfheim, minor loss of life due to falling, spawning chambers intact, permission to resume general operation of Alfheim?"

"Granted"

"General functions across Alfheim resuming, startup complete"

"Open communication to the faction leaders".

Kirito had made it to the harbor of the undine capital. Quickly finding a small boat, Kirito finds the captain. "I need transportation". He says, exhausted from the flight. "where to?". "To the east". The captain looks confused. "But there's nothing out that way". "There is now, when can we head out?" intrigued by the prospect of a new land the captain agrees. "After whatever that green light was, we need to check if everything is still working. We can head out tomorrow at sunrise. And it'll be 10,000 yrd".

And that is the end of chapter one. Asuna, managing Alfheim. Kirito, exploring a new land to find his daughter. Louise with her new familiar. Please let me know what you think and any feedback you have.

Yes, I did get this concept from Flere821's "Fae is Foul" and zero0hero's "Halkeginia Online", But I decided I wanted to write my own version.

For this story, Alfheim and its players are plopped into Halkeginia as if they have always been fairies, instead of players. I just kind of didn't like how in the other stories they try to explain that they are players/humans and all this other stuff that makes it all messy and doesn't go anywhere because it doesn't really matter.

As I established in this chapter, the world tree needs someone managing it, the world tree powers things around Alfheim, it can not influence things outside of the lands of Alfheim, and the fairies can respawn.

As for how strong the fae are, I think they would be decently powerful compared to humans. Mainly because the fairies can fight in many deadly battles and simply respawn when they die, allowing for many of them to become powerful without killing each other off. As for magic, the strongest spells shown in the show are the self-destruct, and Kirito's illusion/transformation, while everything else was very mundane. I feel like magic should be stronger for them than shown in the anime, especially with multi person casting that was also shown. So I will be giving them decent magic to at least match triangle class mages. Though due to the nature of the original game, which had an equal focus on melee (at least it looked like almost everyone had a melee weapon), many of the fae are going to be experts in melee combat.

I do plan on continuing this story but I won't have any kind of schedule for new chapters.

As a disclaimer, I don't own anything other than my own potential OC's

Thank you for reading.
