The year is 2140 is the middle night of July 25 in the Fukui prefecture
In a suburb-like area, the streets are calm as most people would be sleeping. however, for a split moment, the street was active. a silvery multi almost rainbow-colored haired woman in a nightie is running down the streets at a superhuman speed. looking around in a panic, she looked back in the direction she came from.
viewing through her eyes in her perspective, she used telescopic vision letting her see far away. far off into the distance a man dressed in superhero apparel, that she believes is called majestic. he is slowly air jumping in a way right towards her. panicking she turns to a random home on her side. sort of breaking into the house threw the back door.
The actual owner, who was just a random office woman was alarmed by the sound. she was not too worried though she in a sense activated her powers. projecting a translucent blue shield around her. She walked around her house in it protected. hearing a low siren in the distance but what had her attention was her bathroom. it was open and the light was on.
she peered inside. She was originally just going to look and then run out of her house. like a normal person would have. but she actually recognized the woman inside. sure she was dressed oddly but in her, she felt like she wasn't in danger and dropped her shield.
"your apex. your that pro heroine apex, I thought I heard you died" the woman said with amazement in her voice while approaching her. but it sort of vanished the moment when she saw that she had some blood on her nightie and hands. she quickly tried to put up her shield again but before she could she was knocked out by the intruder.
The intruder then took off a strand of hair from her and ate it. she then started to transform into the office woman that was knocked out in front of her. hearing a siren from the police out in front and a ring from the doorbell. She acted fast dragged the owner into the bathroom and put on her clothes. She went to the front door and acted as the owner to the cops. she was convincing enough.
she placed the owner on the bed and put her clothes back on. She hopes that when the owner wakes up she will think that it was all a wild dream. or at least give her enough time to get far away from here before she reports it, she then put on another one of the owner's outfits and she took some money from her too.
while walking through the streets our protagonist is seeing the people around her. She then enters a store and buys a backpack, food, a pair of scissors, and a couple of plastic baggies. she then approaches a random woman, she manages to take a hair off of her unknown to the actual woman or any bystanders by sleight of hand. when she is a couple of blocks away from the store. cutting off a bit of the woman's hair she is currently transformed as she then eats the hair of the random woman from the store transforming into her.
she really wants to leave this whole town quickly, but before she could she had to take care of something. she was now secretly surveying a house at a distance looking at it from a distance. a boy who appears to be in middle school entered the home after hangout with his friends. She continued to wait till nightfall though. She then secretly and stealthily broke into the house.
In the boy's room, he was sound asleep. She entered his room scissors in hand, hand raised, and cut off a bit of his hair. She then left the place as she enter it. again when she got a good distance away she took the hair she stole and ate it. 10 seconds later she transformed into the boy from the house, another 10 seconds his clothes transformed, into what the boy was wearing inside the house. he then tried to concentrate and after a while, he began to turn invisible.
"Things are not always as they seem. I learned that in so many different all through my life." our protagonist said.
a few days later. transformed again as the office lady she took the other day, she was now walking around near Toyama station in the Toyama prefecture. really just observing the people around her to pass the time while she is waiting for a train.
she wants to find out more about other shapeshifters out there. notepad in hand with an address of a support group in Tokyo known as the mimicry alliance. That's where she is headed. She then heard a news report claiming that the supervillain that killed the pro-heroine apex had finally been captured.
"yeah, that's right you heard right. That woman was killed by a supervillain like the kind that you would read or see in comics or something. because that is just the world that this is. oh for the record that woman apex is not me. I guess I should tell you a bit of my story and thoughts"
"When I was young or younger at least I ran away from home. after my mom got herself killed and my dad went crazy. with no real plan either. because it just had to be better than the alternative, little did I know how much life was going to spiral"
"They say people tend to judge others by their appearance, how impressive or attractive they look, how they dress all of those factors are used to make a first impression, similarly, people will make assumptions based on how they behave, they want to label someone sociable, easygoing, and aggressive but like with a person's appearance it is just surface level. I know better than to do that, if that is the case then what does that mean for me then. I am a shapeshifter that is considered to be an oddy even in this current world."

she then noticed a rather tall almost looking to be at least 9 feet tall, blonde fox-like woman walked passed by her.
"you see. her, she is considered to be a heteromorph, when someone's quirk drastically changes the user's genetic structure leaving them with a less-than-human appearance and more physically obvious abilities."
"When he wasn't bullied at school by kids they would pick on people like them next, depend ding on how strange looking. though she herself is a shapeshifter, people like her are placed in an entirely different category by the government. not that she is registered at all."
"some supremacist groups fell and some rose anew. Even some genocides occurred targeting in particular heteromorphs, all around the world people with quirks killed each other, don't think this is something that only occurred in third or second-world countries, there were heteromorphic purges here too in this country"

"Not all people just stood by and let injustice happen, people all around the world used their newly acquired powers to combat such people. these people were first considered to be vigilantes. since governments all around tried to clamp down on people using quirks, basically trying to make pretend that they didn't have them.
but that didn't work, so many governments around the world realized to make it seem like they had still society under their control. they started dubbing the people who were originally vigilantes, as heroes and putting them under a strict code of ethics. after who doesn't like the idea of being a hero, all to start and bring order"
"all over the world, it ended up creating a society like this, it is believed that 80 percent of the people current day have developed quirks, of some uncanny ability. the streets look like something out of comic books with a new profession dominating the collective consciousness. an age of heroes they call it. That we have entered a new age society of superhumans."
"but can't help but wonder though what does it mean to be human in this world then? what is humanity in a superhuman world" She finally started to make her back to the station seeing that her train was going to be leaving soon. for now, she is going to be like a ghost and get as far away from this place as discreetly as possible.
The current year is 2148 April 6.
We watch a young man of average height dressed in a school uniform, with slick-styled blond hair, that parted to the right, his bangs left hanging over his periwinkle blue eyes.
he was walking around in no particular rush or anything. Until a commotion got his attention, seeing a giant monster on the top of the train tracks above tattoo station. from what he could tell from hearing the crowd. A villain went full monster after failing to steal a purse.
the pro hero Death Arms was already on the scene along with Backdraft keeping the crowd safe. A relatively new hero by the name of Kamui Woods was trying to take down the giant villain, hearing him yell out.
"lacquer prison" looks like he was going to use that to restrain the giant villain. He personally didn't know if it was going to work or not, he was doubtful. not that he or neither would the crowd know, because out of nowhere a new heroine showed up and side-kicked on the giant villain. Taking him down instantly. she had to be over 60 feet tall judging by the buildings around as a scale.
This new heroine she even declared "piece of cake for the world's next hottest hero, hi there I'm Mount lady, and you don't have to worry about this bum anymore." The crowd cheered people took photos.
our protagonist on the hand went off to the side to a side alley making sure no one spotted or can see him. during which he shapeshifted softly and quickly into a random girl he once saw. (Not really important. you picture whoever)
She then took off her coat from her boy's uniform. she is now only in her uniform pants and white buttoned shirt. She then put on two rings that had a sharp edge on one side each. Then headed straight toward mount lady. This heroine was a stroke of luck for her. When she got the chance and was face to face with She presented herself as a new fan of hers taking pictures of her and got to hug Mount Lady.
She eventually left no one being the wiser. When she was hugging and taking photos with mount lady, she was to take a piece of hair from her. Going to another place she knew no one would spot her.
"all right first time of my actual quirk, don't have to concentrate too much" She ate the hair of mount lady.
This time was different from the time she was in the side alley, she began to transform again. this time though it took her 5 seconds. In those 5 seconds, limbs expanded, face and body. she transformed into mount lady physically, a Normal height version. Still concentrating in another 5 seconds she got her outfit as well. In mount lady's voice
"alright now to actually try to use her quirk" trying to imagine or visualize the quirk in action, since that sort of works with others she copies. Took about twenty minutes but she did manage to grow. reaching the height that she saw the actual mount lady do early in the day.
"alright her quirk is a switch kind" she cheered she decided to Call it a day she returned to normal size.
Before she tried to change back she got out a pair of scissors and cut off a fair bit of hair. Then started concentrating again. To transform back this time though she transformed into another random girl. Then again softly and quickly transformed into the guy he actually pretends to be at the orphanage. That's right the random girl he transformed into right before this that was her quirk, not his true quirk. He in a sense is using the shapeshifting quirk of another even now.
The hair that he cut when he was mount lady is still in his hand, he bagged it up and titled it mount lady. Writing it down in his notebook about mount lady and what he knows he will have to do more research on later. but so far this seems like this is the best one that he could use in the future, that won't get him into to much trouble. Closing it The notebook has his name Neito Monoma.
He then headed back to the orphanage he stayed at. Neito Monoma, or at least that is the name they are going by now, not his real name. due to the fact that their old life is gone in many ways. Maybe him now going by a different name and face, is his way of hopefully getting his life on track.
it has been eight years since he ran away, a month after he left he found out his father ended up hanging himself. In a world of superheroes and super-powered individuals, small things tend to be overlooked by admittingly exciting city block-destroying clashes or so-called heroes and villains, no heroes or heroics ever helped him. Monoma has a bitter feeling about their society.
The main reason right now he has for trying to be a pro hero is just so he can use his quirk without getting in trouble with the law. The law not knowing how much trouble he has caused them.
Remembering the months that she at the time was homeless and how she would steal food or money, nothing too much, but enough to get by. he ended up copying the quirk of a shapeshifter, then with their powers shapeshifted into a criminal form, that he saw on tv or news reports.
At the time there were reports of villains said to be imprisoned popping up during his thefts. cause a huge commotion people began thinking that some villains have broken out, only for the authorities just to find out the real ones were still locked up. Announcing to the public that they are secured. But after that happens a couple of times the public just starts to disbelieve it.
he also has not exactly helped out his community if anything he is a prime example of why they are discriminated against. In This quirk-filled world that has people who can transform into other people. shapeshifters tend to be discriminated against. Because a person who can take another form can do a lot of reputational damage to the person they transformed into. Along with possible scapegoats. Besides Most people in general if they saw someone else become them, tend to find it creepy.
Momona experienced that prejudice firsthand. people originally thought he was quirk-less less, which also came with prejudice But when he revealed he was a shapeshifter, it increased. he had to all part of his plan. but he is the type of person that doesn't even ask the person he is transforming into whether it is ok with them or not. Best to just avoid that headache. If they were going to get mad, he might as well have gotten something out of it.
What would he have even said at the time? "Hey give me some of your DNA so I could become you "better to just get it from the discreetly. The comments he heard all tough out school made seem clear that his quirk is seen as villainous. Unfortunately, he proved them right during the dark time in his life.
I was a like a phantom, when I went in stealth I went in fast no one usually got hurt or noticed till it was too late when he to the discreet approach. if he couldn't be discreet. then he transformed appearance-wise only into a villain, no one usually got hurt. usually, but did sprain slash injure someone during his one sort of last money-stealing heist? It was for survival.
he is trying to be a pro-hero now. because it seemed like actual criminal and villain organizations. were looking for him. A guy named Giren was really trying to find him and recruit him too.
Stashing and using what he did have, to go straight or try to at least. right now he is preparing for the UA entrance exam. He had been collecting quirks for him to potentially use. Secretly practicing with some too.
Eventually, the day came. He had to show up in his Neito Momona form. If he could he would have transformed the day prior into the person he was going to, for the 10-minute mock battle test. But for him to avoid confusion and Show his copying quirk "another" to the judges. he is essentially revealing himself to the world and finally getting put on the government's registration of shapeshifters.
It is a shame because it takes one of his "slots" as he calls them, away. It will be his first so it will take him 10 seconds to transform, hopefully, he will not be at too much of a disadvantage at that point.
but It was, he was placed in "battle center A" There was another kid there named Katsuki Bakugo exploding and took out a lot of enemy robots quickly. During the exam, he ate mount lady's hair and transformed into her. costume and all. She did manage to get a somewhat decent score from destroying a couple of robots.
he had to scramble to make it up with rescuing points, the only real challenge was another ginger-haired girl named Kendo. both of them had big hands, she also seemed shocked at her.
after they were done he got a bunch of expected confusing glares from other participants. some even tried to approach her with some hostility and some from the sounds of thought she was the real Mount lady. She just kept trying to keep a distance from them. by standing on a rooftop of the battle center building.
He ended up getting a letter from UA like everyone else, he was feeling fairly confident of his chances. He was a little upset when he did find out since he didn't make it into the hero course class 1A, but he did get accepted into class 1B. so he is not starting at the top, but according to the letter he and others do have the chance to advance to class 1A if someone does well in the UA sports festival. the teacher can transfer him to class 1A.
so until then, Momona's plan is to use his thieving skills to get a hold of better quirks and hone them to get into 1A.
