Timpani was sleeping.
Remember what I said in the last chapter, about me telling you about where Timpani was and stuff? Yeah. She's sleeping.
Which was very convenient for Mr. L, Bolt, Xena, O'Chunks, Mimi and Dimentio. Judging from previous events, Bolt and Xena had managed to figure out a theory concerning the sudden sprouting of wings on Mr. L's part.
The aldawolf and the crow had managed to erect a blackboard from somewhere, and were both wearing spectacles. You know, the kind that teachers sometimes wear.
Anyway, they had them on, and Xena had one of those stick things teachers used to use to point to various things on the blackboard in the olden days held firmly in her beak. Bolt was to do the talking.
Mr. L, O'Chunks, Mimi and Dimentio were sitting cross-legged in the kind of fashion students sit on the floor. For some, there are assigned spots. For others, they're all over the place. Right now, the four were sitting around the blackboard, Dimentio bored, Mimi distracted and O'Chunks yawning. Only Mr. L was paying even the slightest attention, and that attention's span was not very long.
Bolt cleared his throat and indicated the first sketch on the blackboard. It was of a stickman and two squares. There was two arrows pointing from the stickman to the squares. Xena pointed the stick thingy to the sketch.
"Looking at Figure One, we can easily distinguish that in the past two months, Mr. L has journeyed to two different dimensions and back," said Bolt in a professional, serious-ish voice teachers sometimes use. "Therefore, he has experienced many different changes in concern of his appearance."
Xena pointed to Figure Two, which was of a hovering stickman with spiky things coming out of its head.
"Figure Two indicates Dimentio, who uses magic frequently, therefore arousing dimensional molecules nearby," continued Bolt. "Being forced to spend time around the other minions, including Mr. L, the magic given off him brings us to Figure Three."
Xena pointed to Figure Three, which was of a stickman with crudely-drawn wings.
"As a result of this could-be-called merging, Mr. L's body has been changed, and his wings have sprouted," concluded Bolt. "Any questions?"
"I have a kwest-shun," mumbled O'Chunks, raising a beefy hand. "When's lunch?"
Mr. L checked his watch. "In an hour."
O'Chunks groaned.
"I could get you some snacks," offered Mimi.
"Naw t'anks, lass," replied O'Chunks. "Ah can wait."
"Good."
Dimentio yawned mockingly and rose to the air. "If I may be excused, I will be departing to my quarters."
He snapped his fingers and vanished.
Xena spat out the stick thingy. "Can we stop being all serious and stuff?"
"Sure," said Bolt, dropping his professional manner.
"Good," said Xena, hopping over to the door and opening it. "I have a worm to catch."
