"OVER THERE, I SEE A SURVIVOR, ITS SALAMAND, HE'S STILL ALIVE, GET HIM ON BOARD NOW!" the members of the magic council's enforcement division said as they hauled Fairy Tail's Fire Dragon onto their ship.
"Incredible! How did he survive?" Lahar, a member of the council asked.
"I'm sure." Doranbolt said confusion in his voice. He looked where the massive island that was Tenrou Island, sacred ground for Fairy Tail once stood, but no longer. "Either way we have to get back to the guild and tell them what happened!" Doranbolt said
"Especially because of that black dragon" Lahar frowned.
"Acnologia!" Doranbolt said as he felt his body tremble at the mere vocalization of his name.
"Either way, this will not be the same again" Lahar said.
FOUR MONTHS LATER
"Ah, what hit me?" Natsu asked as he sat up in bed, his head and body aching
"Natsu, you're awake!" a kind voice exclaimed
"Kinana? What is going...the others did they?" Natsu asked
"You...You were the only one who escaped Acnologia" Kinana said
"It can't be!" Natsu said as he was about to stand up
"I'm sorry" Kinana cried as she just held the dragon slayer as he wept. "I'm sorry Natsu"
"Hey Natsu" Macao said as he saw the young pinked haired wizard walk up the stairs
"Hey, so how long was I out for?" Natsu asked as he sat down at the bar.
"Four months" Macao said
"Has there been any word on the others?" Natsu asked
"No, there's nothing left, not even the island" Macao said
"I see" Natsu said
"I'm sorry" Macao said
"So what's next?" Natsu asked as he looked around the guild hall
"I'm not sure, but Natsu, take a couple of days to get your head around things okay?" Macao asked
"Sure thing" Natus said as he got up to walk back to his home, tears running down his cheeks
"Poor kid" Wakaba said as he watched the dragon slayer leave the hall
"Yeah, I suggest we set up a memorial for those we lost on Tenrou Island" Macao said
"What about Natsu?" Kinana asked
"We'll do it when he's in a better mind," Macao said "Alright Fairy Tail! You hear that, time to set it up" he shouted
1 WEEK LATER
Natsu was among those were standing before a large symbol of the fairy Tail Guild wearing a black cloak in mourning, several other guilds like Blue Pegasus, Lamina Scale, Quarto Cerberus and many more standing with Fairy Tail at Kardia Cathedral to in memory of those that were lost on Tenrou Island. All those in attendance to the even didn't have a dry eye as the rain started to fall as well. Natsu looked at the ground
"Natsu" Romeo, one of the younger members of Fairy Tail placed a hand
"So, what now?" the dragon slayer asked
"We grieve, then we recover" Macao said as he looked determined. "Even if I have to appoint someone else to be Master of our guild" he said
"I'll kill him" Natsu said "I'll take his life in the name of those he took!" Natsu declared
"Easy Natsu, recover first" Macao said catching him, after the Dragon Slayer stumbled
"I will, and I'll get stronger" he snarled as he looked into the flames behind the Guild sigil.
"We all will" Macao said
'Happy, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Gramps, Levy, Lisana, Mirajane, Elfman, Cana, Juvia, Gajeel, Fried, Bickslow, Evergreen...Gildarts; I'm sorry" Natsu said remembering those that were lost
'Kid's going to have it rough" Macao thought.
SIX MONTHS LATER
Natsu was once again at the bar drinking down some Fire whiskey
"How was the job?" Kinana asked
"Good" Natsu said
"I'm worried about how much you drink lately, even though the fire burns off the alcohol" she said cleaning the mug
"Yeah" Natsu said, "Hey any new jobs?"
"Natsu, chill" Macao said
"I can't every second I chill he gets stronger" Natsu said
"And every second you don't chill, the more stress you put on yourself" Macao said "As interim Master I order you to relax"
"Fine" Natsu said as he glared at a job flyer which held a new emblem that many of the guild despised "Titanslayer" he spat
"Natsu?" Kinana asked
"A new guild that appeared in the six months since Tenrou. They're different than any other guild we faced before, since they hunt both dark and light wizard guilds. So far five light guilds have fallen to them blades" Natsu explained
"Oh, do you think they'll be a problem?" Kinana asked
"I do, and in the future they might be a bigger problem" Natsu said
"I see" Kinana said. Suddenly a scream pierced the air in the guild hall making Natsu snap to attention but he relaxed when he saw the guild's two gunslingers Alzack and Bisca embracing each other
"YES! I'LL MARRY YOU" Bisca called out happily making those gathered in the guild clap and cheer, Natsu was smiling before he stopped for a moment, a flash of Lucy appearing in his mind making him go over to the job board to find a way to distract his mind from the happy couple
"Oh Natsu" Macao sighed as he looked at the fire slayer once again at the job request board.
It had been two months since Alzack and Bisca's engagement and Natsu was on another job, but this one was more important than the last since it was from an allied guild, Mermaid Heel. One of their members were exploring the area where there were rumours of the Titanslayer guild. He was furious with them since they were killing any and all kind of magic users, but he needed this distraction from Alzack and Bisca's wedding
"This was the area she was last in" Natsu said before he started to use his senses to find and find the Mermaid's Heel's missing wizard. He could smell several things; the dirt, the trees, the nearby river and a sweeter scent that he presumed to be the wizard's perfume or something. He frowned as he saw small dried droplets of blood on the ground near him. "I better not be too late to find her" he said before he picked up some noises; he ducked behind a fallen tree and looked to see several hooded figures, one of them holding a bloodied Battle Axe and in between two of them was a girl with long purple hair and wore something that looked like a blazer with a skirt. Natsu frowned as she was forced to her knees
"Kagura Mikazuchi, prepare for the end of your life" The holder of the Battle Axe said
"Do whatever you want, my guild will avenge me" Kagura said
"Then we'll deal with them too" the axeman said
"Whatever" Kagura said as she was forced into putting her neck on a tree stump
"This I'll be quick and quite painful! MYTH EXCUTI" Axeman started to declared
"FIRE DRAGON WING ATTACK!" Natsu roared sending out two whips of flames striking the hooded men, "BACK AWAY FROM HER!"
"The Last Dragon of the fairies" Axemen sneered "We weren't expecting you"
"Shut it your murder happy scum" Natsu snarled
"Ah you've faced down other members of my guild then have you?" Axman laughed before Natsu jumped at him throwing a punch at him which was blocked by the axe
"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" Natsu said unleashing a torrent of red hot flames at Axeman
"OUCH! HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT!" he shouted dropping the axe signalling to Natsu that he was wide opened
"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!" Natsu roared as he threw a fire covered fist at the hooded figures "You okay?" he asked helping Kagura stand up and removed the ropes from her wrist
"I am, thanks to you now" Kagura nodded
"Good to hear" Natsu said as he stood back to back with Kagura as the Titanslayer guild members were encircling them about to charge in when they suddenly crashed to the ground
"Let's go! My magic can only hold them for so long" Kagura said grabbing his arm
"Wait, that was your magic?" Natsu asked
"Yes, now let's go!" she urged rushing off with the dragon slayer in tow.
"Okay, so you could of gotten out of there and didn't need my help" Natsu said
"Of course not" Kagura said "but thank you for the rescue" she said
"you're welcome. Anyway follow me" Natsu said
"Where?" she asked
"To my guild hall, your master is going to pick you up from there" he said
"Okay" Kagura said "And I'm sorry for what happened" she said
"Thank you, I still can't believe it myself from time to time. Heck my heart still feels like its plunging into my stomach when I think of them" Natsu admitted to her as a breeze blew though his pink locks.
"I understand, there is someone I lost, my older brother" Kagura said
"I see" Natsu said "Anyway let's go home" he said.
TWO MONTHS LATER
The bells of the Catherdral were ringing out in joy as the happy couple of Bisca and Alzack had finally joined in blissful union, there was a sign of sorrow in the guild members. Natsu especially as he smiled at the sight of Bisca and Alzack having their first dance as a couple
"Natsu" Macao said seriously drawing the Dragon Slayer's attention before leading him off
"What is it?" Natsu inquired of the interim master
"I just wanted to see how you were doing. I know that well" Macao sighed
"I know" Natsu smiled as he looked up into the crisp clear sky "But they would probably be hjappy, and Juvia well she'd be all over Grey to get married" he laughed
"It is good to see you like that again" Macao smiled softly as the sight of Natsu being joyful.
"Yeah" Natsu smiled as he looked at the sky
"And I head you've been getting along with that mermaid you rescued" Macao smirked in a fatherly way
"So what if I have?" Natsu barked
"Nothing, it's good to see you happy again" Macao said smiling as there was something lingering that he didn't tell Natsu. Causing the Dragon Slayer to frown, but for now he would ignore it.
"THERE YOU TWO ARE, WE'RE ABOUT TO HAVE THE TOASTS!" Wakaba, another of the guild's older member barked
"Coming" the two said.
That evening after everything settled down and the guild member went home Natus stayed behind for some reason. Which was opening a box containing one of Erza's swords. He smiled and picked up a cloth; polishing it lightly. A ritual for him to calm his thoughts anytime he thought of the Tenrou Island team. When suddenly his hearing picked something up
"I'm telling you Macao, this is bad. If we don't get more money then we're finished and that bunch of assholes Twilight Ogre becomes top guild in Magnolia!" Wakaba hissed. 'Twilight Ogre was a small mage's guild but they had been picking fights with Fairy Tail for years. But now they could take their spot! How was one of the questions in Natsu's mind.
"I know, I know! Especially since they've been bribing the local government and since we've lost basically half our normal income" Macao seethed "We also need to appoint an official master, but no one here is probably willing or able to do it" Macao sighed
"Forgive me for daring to be stupid for a second and suggest probably the DUMBEST idea I've ever had" Wakaba stated
"Which is?" Macao asked
"We make Natsu the master" Wakaba said "And now that I've said it out loud, it is dumber then I originally thought!"
"no kidding" Macao grunted
'Me Master?' Natsu pondered mentally 'Nah Erza or Laxus I can see as Master, would I be a good master?' he continued as he put the sword away 'You never know.' he smiled walking into the medical wing which he had started to use when he didn't want to go home.
A loud crash awoke Natsu from his sleep, and it came from the main guild hall; it riled up Natsu's blood and protectiveness
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!" Macao shouted as Natsu headed upstairs into the guild hall where some assholes were wrecking the place
"Don't you fairies get it, Magnolia is now the town of Twilight Ogre, you don't belong here anymore, not since the old man and most of your most powerful wizards, croaked like a frog" the one in front who had two massive spiked bludgeons and hair pompoms laughed
"we're still plenty strong" Macao said
"Yeah right!" the Twilight Ogre Wizard laughed as he kicked Macao away.
"YOU" Natsu growled as he stormed up to the Twilight Ogre thugs, the air heating up with his very rage. "YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE IN FAIRY TAIL, IN OUR TOWN, SO LEAVE!" Natsu growled.
"Ooh look at this, the little fairy thinks he can take all of" the leader sneered before he was kicked into the rest of his guild mates, his clothes scorched by a mere kick from Natsu.. "FIRE DRAGON SWORD HORN!" he called out as he charged at the Twilight Ogre wizards, sending them flying into the air and out of sight
"Fourth Master, actually not a bad idea" Macao quietly said to Wakaba, as the guild cheered loudly
"Yep" Wakaba said
"Why not?" Macao asked as a young woman with purple hair walked in and smiled softly as she saw Natsu
"Oh hey Kagura" Natsu smiled "I'll meet you out back in a few"
"Another Sword lesson already?" Wakaba teased
"Shut up" the two young wizards snapped.
Soon Natsu was out the back of the guild cleaning Erza's sword as Kagura was stretching. Once a month since the mission where Natsu went to rescue her Kagura had been coming to Magnolia so she could repay him by training him how to use a sword. Something he picked up rather quickly thankfully, but that didn't stop the lessons. As the months went on Kagura was helping him with learning magic augmentation magic to make the sword catch fire. The two were currently fighting
"Not bad" Natsu smiled
"Same to you" Kagura said as she tucked a tendril of her hair behind her ear smiling at him. Soon the two were back at it again, only this time the two fighters came to together sharing a tender kiss. His arms wrapping around her slender frame while her hands were delicately placed on his chest.
"Natsu?" a voice asked as Laki walked out and looked around, just in time to see the newly couple part
"Oh hey Laki, what's up?" Natsu asked picking up Erza's sword
"You're needed in the guild, and yes your girlfriend can join you" Laki smiled.
"Okay" Natsu said "Bummer we were caught"
"Only for the first time" Kagura flirted with him.
"Come on" Natsu sighed
"Natsu" Macao seriously said as he and Kagura entered the guild. "we've been talking"
"Uh oh" Natsu quietly said
"And we've decided something" Wakaba said making the Dragon Slayer nervous. Macao stepped forward before breaking into a large smile.
"Natsu Dragneel, as of today you have been elected as Fairy Tail's Fourth Master!" Macao declared making the small guild cheer and holler in congratulations. Meanwhile all Natsu could say was
"What?" he asked as he was hugged by Kagura "ME MASTER!" Natsu cried out.
G'day Guys Grizz here and wow a Fairy Tail Fic from me, yeah would never hvae guess. I've been a fan of Fairy Tail for ages now and enjoyed reading the fics about them, plus I've been wanting to one for ages and now I am, with a fic where Natsu in Master and hopefully a pretty unique way since I didn't have him being sick or injure before the S-Class trials. Now the fic will cover mostly the Grand Magic Games so we'll see a 7 year time skip with flash backs to the events leading up to them like how they recruited the vast amounts of original wizards I have and other interactions. Alos the ship is Kagura from Mermaid Heel with our favourite dragon, so enjoy
