"Hey ya'll, welcome to my YouTube channel. I'm Ingrid and today I will be ranking RWBY characters!" I started, the red light on the camera blinking, indicating that it was recording. I looked towards my computer which had a bunch of RWBY characters on it for me to rank.
"First up, we have Yang. Well…" I started to ramble. Every time I made a video, I never remembered over half of what I was saying until I edited the video. The important thing was that it normally was able to reach 30 minutes and people watched it for some reason.
Three years ago at the beginning of high school, I started my little YouTube channel, mostly to talk about my favorite TV shows with other people. I never thought it would grow enough to be a big deal, but now it took up the majority of my life. When I wasn't at school, I would be working on my videos or going to cons that I paid for from the money I made from my videos.
"Here we have Oscar Pine. Now it is no secret that he is my favorite character of all time in anything, period. He is my comfort character and Rooster Teeth keeps insisting on hurting him and he deserves a hug." I also just wanted to hug him for helping me. When I discovered that Oscar Pine existed, it was during a really hard time in my life when I was a freshman, and adjusting to high school. Writing fanfiction and talking about him to the Internet ended up being my coping mechanism for all the stress I was going through. "Honestly, if I ever met Oscar Pine. I would give him a hug because he deserves one. And also his crush on Ruby is so adorable and I ship Rose Garden so much. I've yet to be convinced otherwise, so the inevitable hate comments will not sway me. So he will go into S rank if that wasn't obvious."
"Next up we have Jaune Arc. Now Jaune, I mean, I've always liked him, but it's never been on the level where I will read endless amounts of fanfiction on him. But his relationship with Pyrrha is adorable and his glow-up in Volume 7 is awesome. And I really enjoy his character arc. Watching him grow from the guy who cheated into Beacon into someone who can match Ruby on his battle level with a classic sword is just amazing. So I'll probably put him in A tier, mostly because of Pyrrha."
Suddenly, a pure white light clouded my vision, blinding me entirely. I closed my eyes, protecting my eyes from the burn. My heart started racing. Before I could fully comprehend what had happened, I opened my eyes.
The world around me looked… different. I was in a train station of sorts. I couldn't fully understand it. Everything was 2D. Like it was… animated? I looked down at my hands and they were animated too. I started hyperventilating.
"Who—where?" I looked around me. I was surrounded by a bunch of people pointing various weapons at me. Yang, Qrow, Ruby, Weiss, Nora, Ren. I was confused. Why was I surrounded by a bunch of RWBY characters? But my doubts all faded away as soon as my eyes landed on the one thing that helped me survive freshman year.
