The Little Cancer Soldier

Disclaimer: I don't own Glee.

Noah and Quinn Puckerman were visiting Kurt and Blaine Hummel-Anderson's daughter, Liza Marie Anderson, who had leukemia. When Noah says, "This is not fucking fair! Liza Marie is just a little girl fighting a battle for her life! None of the things I have seen compare to what she is going through! God, first Kurt lost his mom to cancer, then Mr. H had a heart attack, and now Liza Marie has cancer! What the Hell?!"

As Noah says this, Quinn notices Burt come into the room with Carole before Burt says, "Liza Marie might be Blaine's biological daughter, but she is strong like us, Puck."

Then they hear Liza Marie say, "Maybe I should be a soldier like you, Uncle Nono. I hate this too, Uncle Nono! The kids at school call me Liza The Sicky-Sicko and don't care that I have cancer! Because they think I deserve it for having two dads! They even laughed at me when my hair started to fall out at school!"

Then Carole Hummel says, "Burt, think of your heart, honey!"

Before long, Noah stormed out, and he followed Burt as he said, "Let's take my Humvee, Mr. H!" Nothing else was said as they entered the parking lot and got into Noah's Humvee.

When they pulled up to Liza Marie's school, McKinley Elementary, Noah was the first one storming into the building. When the secretary, Mrs. Cullen, stopped and said, "If this is about Liza Marie! Blaine has been here several times to complain about the bullying!"

Then Noah and Burt say in unison, "Well, not us, and you tell that principal that if this happens again, we'll be back with flame-throwers! Got it?! Liza Marie is very sick, goddamn it, and doesn't need this! Now, don't make us come down here again!"

Then the principal, Mr. Jamison, comes out of his office and says, "Mr. Hummel and Mr. Puckerman, we have tried to stop the bullying, and we have tried to get the kids to understand that she is sick. But it's more to do with the parents feeding them stories about how being gay is wrong. They believe Liza Marie is going to hell because her parents are gay."

Before Noah says, "I was Kurt's bully before I became his friend."

Then Noah looks at Burt and says, "I may be Liza Marie's uncle, but I refuse to let bullies bully my niece while she is sick."

Soon Noah glares at Mr. Jamison before he says, "Ha, now I know why she calls you Uncle Hulk. Look, Mr. Puckerman, I'm doing all I can, and I hope she gets better. But I am only one person here. Now, if you gentlemen will excuse me, I have to meet with the parents of another student who thought it would be funny to put pee-filled balloons in Liza Marie's locker."

Then they see Blaine enter the school as the principal exits his office. Rather than leave and return to the hospital, they follow Blaine, who says, "Puck, I got this. Go back to Liza Marie, you two. The last thing I want is Kurt upset over Burt getting another heart attack over this."

Before Noah says, "I promise we're just here for intimidation. Besides, I want to see this kid's parents."

As soon as they enter the room. Noah sees an old friend of his, Azimio, and his wife, Shaneka, sitting with their son, Azimio Jr. When Azimio sees them, his face goes white, and he says, "Junior will never do it again, and we are sorry about Liza Marie."

Before getting up and walking out, his wife says, "Are you crazy, Z? That little troll's daughter should not attend school with our son!"

Then Noah says, "I think Z forgot I was still friends with Kurt."

Which made the men laugh before Blaine says, "Ha, I guess so because when I would bring Liza Marie, she always called you two G' Pa and Uncle Hulk. Kurt never came to deal with this since Liza Marie has my last name.

Then he looked at Noah before saying, "Liza Marie kept begging me to tell you about the bullying, but I kept telling her no. Ha, I am so glad you came now." After this, the men returned to the hospital to tell Liza Marie about what had happened.

While Noah was overseas, Quinn, Kurt, and Blaine wrote letters to him about Liza Marie. She would send him pictures she drew. One of them had Noah concerned. It was a picture of a bald girl sitting in the corner, crying, while the teacher and the other students laughed at her. In the thought bubble, it said, "Be like Uncle Hulk." This had him enraged, and he wrote to Blaine, saying:

Hey Blaine,

Liza Marie sent me a picture of her teacher and classmates making fun of her. I think she is hiding things from you. I know you said she was doing fine. Look, you're her dad here, and I know Liza Marie wants someone to help her.

You should let her know she is much stronger than those assholes, and I'll be there for her when I get back. Let's meet at the school. I might even bring my machine gun just for intimidation. Wow, I sound just like Mr. H! Don't I? Good thing Kurt found you.

Quinn and Mr. H told me you were intimidating. I noticed that when you met with Z.

Quinn also told me that you and Kurt made us her godparents. What did Rachel think of that? Okay, I've got to go. Tell Liza Marie that I will see her soon. For the sake of Mrs. H and Kurt, we should keep Mr. H out of this. Well, I've got to go.

Puck

When Noah returned, Blaine told him, "Quinn is with Liza Marie, and Kurt fought with that teacher. The guy put him in a coma, and I had to leave or I was going to go all Hulk on the guy myself! God, I am glad you are straight, Puck. Because I bet if you were Liza Marie's papa, that guy would have been the one in a coma right now!"

Then Noah says, "Damn straight, Blaine! Hell, even if the fact that you and Kurt are her parents wasn't an issue! That guy would regret hurting Liza Marie's feelings like that! She is sick and going through something no kid should ever go through!"

After this, the back of Blaine's car is rammed into by a truck that Noah had seen before. Then Noah says, "Rick, you son of a bitch! Blaine, let him pass you and roll down your window." Blaine complies, and when Rick sees Noah, His face goes white before he floors the gas pedal and drives off.

Then Blaine says, "Kurt doesn't know this, but Rick has been trying to intimidate me since Liza Marie started school. Ha, I'm glad I made you her godfather now."

Soon they were in Kurt and Liza Marie's hospital room and saw Burt holding Liza Marie. When she sees Noah, she gets up but is too weak to move further. Noah picks her up and says, "Liza Marie, I'm sorry I wasn't here to help your Dada Kurt. But that bad teacher will regret it after he meets Uncle Hulk."

Soon, they hear Kurt say, "He better! I might be a Hummel, but I'm not built like Uncle Hulk or Grandpa Hulk! I don't know what I was thinking!"

which made Noah laugh before saying, "Come on, Kurt. You thought he was a stupid Neanderthal and that you were better than him."

Before Blaine says, "Haha, I am glad you said that and not me, Puck. Kurt would deny it until he was blue in the face if I said it." Kurt immediately tried to deny that.

This made the others laugh, and Liza Marie said, "That was funny, Papa!" Which made Kurt blush.

When Liza Marie was released from the hospital, Noah had Blaine take her to a warehouse outside town. Blaine soon saw Rick's truck outside, and when Noah approached his car, he asked, "What are we doing here, Puck?"

Noah doesn't respond and takes Liza Marie out of her car seat before saying, "Time to watch Uncle Hulk kick some ass."

As soon as they entered the building, they heard a bunch of men chanting, "Puck!" repeatedly. Blaine and Liza Marie are soon watching Noah use the skills he learned in the Air Force to fight with over fifty men. After this, Noah takes them to a boys and girls club run by his buddy Eric Johnson, and Noah teaches Liza Marie how to box. This made Blaine feel a little bad that he didn't do that.

Blaine and Noah went to Liza Marie's school a week later. This time, it was Rick's son who was the one bullying Liza Marie, and when the two men saw him, They noticed that he had a busted lip and two black eyes. The two men just smirked at each other, and after the meeting, Rick said to Noah, "So, Puck, are you a homo or what? Because this is the third time I've seen you with this faggot." Noah doesn't say a word and punches Rick in the face.

Then he says, "I'm the Uncle Hulk she keeps talking about."

And Rick says, "Puck, man, what's happened to you? I thought once you got away from those singing geeks, you would wise up and be the guy I remember. But you are nothing but a pussy-whipped pansy."

Noah punches Rick in the face again before saying, "You're the one that needs to wise up here! My niece is very sick and doesn't need your homophobic son harassing her."

Then Rick says, "Puck, did you ever think the reason that she is sick is because God doesn't like that she is the daughter of fags?"

Noah punches Rick again as Burt comes into the room, then looks at Blaine before saying, "That little girl is my best friend, you son of a bitch, and her getting cancer is not a goddamn punishment from God! Now, if I hear that your son is messing with her again, you will pay for it! Got it?!" Rick doesn't respond this time and leaves before Noah storms out of the room with an angry look on his face.

Blaine and Burt soon find Noah standing by Elizabeth Hummel's grave, crying. When he calmed down, he said, "My dad said she deserved to die for having Kurt as a son the night he left. Now, Liza Marie is sick and could die. I know she is Blaine's daughter, but as I said earlier, she's my best friend. I never got to bond with Beth as I have with Liza Marie, and I'm sorry if I made you or Kurt feel like crap, Blaine." He doesn't give Blaine a chance to speak, and he leaves.

Liza Marie was back in the hospital by now, and when the men entered, they noticed Noah lying next to her asleep. Then notice Kurt talking to Quinn at a table in the room, saying, "I hate that he never got to bond with Beth too, Quinn, but I feel like I'm being replaced by Puck sometimes."

Soon Burt says, "She is still your daughter, son, and I can tell Puck is helping her deal with all this. He doesn't want to replace you or Blaine; he wants to be her friend. She is his best friend, and he fears losing her like he did Finn."

This time, Noah didn't leave her side; he was there every day. He helped her when she had to go through chemotherapy and tried to keep her spirits up. He even let her shave his head after he shaved hers. Everybody could tell that Noah was the best thing for Liza Marie and that she was the best thing for him. Even the guys at Fight Club could see the change in him and tell that she motivated him to continue winning every fight. He taught her how to be brave, and she taught him how to be a better man.

After Noah's second tour of duty overseas, he came home and saw Quinn with mascara running down her cheeks. Noah asks, "Is Liza Marie okay?"

Quinn shakes her head no before breaking down. Then she says, "She started getting weaker after you left and told everybody not to tell you. Puck, she looks just awful. She needs a blood transfusion, but the doctors haven't found a match. She won't let anyone except Beth see her, and she keeps asking Kurt about his mom."

Then Quinn breaks down again before Noah hugs her and says, "Liza Marie is a fighter, Quinn, and I am not going to let her die."

Thirty minutes later, Noah walks into Liza Marie's hospital room and tries to hold back his tears as he says, "Hey, Squirt, how's my soldier doing?"

Liza Marie was too weak to talk and just gave him the thumbs down. Then she writes in a notebook, "I'm fucking dying, Nono! The chemo isn't working, and the doctors don't think I will be here much longer if they don't find a donor soon!"

Noah storms out and says to someone, "Who can I talk to, to see if I'm the right person to donate my blood to my niece?"

Before long, he returns, followed by a nurse who tells Liza Marie, "This must be the Uncle Hulk you keep talking about?"

Liza Marie glares at the nurse as she holds up her notebook with the word "duh!" written on it.

Noah chuckles before the nurse starts drawing his blood while he has a staring match with Liza Marie. The nurse told Noah after the procedure was over, "Now, this will take a couple of days to see if you are a suitable match for her. I hope she doesn't turn green after this."

Liza Marie glares at her, and Noah says, "She won't. We only have matching tempers right now."

Then he looks at Liza Marie before saying, "Her Mama and Papa are only blood-related to her."

The nurse chuckles then says, "All of your friends and her papa's family have been fighting because she acts like you, and her grandpa Pat called you a fly-boy loser. I hope you are a match, because that might shut them all up. Your wife yelled at them after your biological daughter left, and your niece would scream at your friends or her dada. Ha, her Grandpa Burt bet your wife twenty dollars that you'd be a match, and some nursing staff got in on that bet."

Noah chuckles as he says, "I don't want her dada to hear about this because he hates when his dad bets on anything."

After this, Noah stayed with Liza Marie by her bedside for the next two days. He prayed to God that he would be a match for her. Then one day, the nurse who took his blood runs into the room as Noah stands up and says to him, "You're a match!"

Liza Marie smiles weakly as Beth comes into the room ahead of the others, and Noah looks at Kurt as he says, "I'm a match!"

Before, Kurt hugs Noah and says, "Thank God, and I know about the bet. Ha, Carole told me. Now, prove to my daughter you are The Hulk, and she is just as tough as you." Soon, Noah holds Liza Marie's hand as his blood enters her through a tube with a needle in her vein as she sleeps peacefully. Noah fell asleep as this happened, and a nurse had to wake him up before they took Liza Marie back to her room.

Before they get to her room, he hears Beth and Blaine yelling at each other, and Blaine says, "Puck is just her friend, and you being jealous of her is ridiculous. How would you feel if Rachel was jealous of you, Beth? Puck was her only hope to live, and you are acting like he is replacing you with my daughter!"

Soon a nurse enters and says, "Your daughter is about to enter this room, and considering the fact your father is the only one I haven't had to yell at since she has been admitted here, I think you all should leave, and as for you two, that is your daughter. I find it crazy that the only ones she doesn't dread seeing are your husband or her Grandpa Hummel." "Now, please leave, or I will call security."

After this, the others walk out while Burt, Carole, Quinn, Kurt, and Blaine stay in the room. Then Noah says, "I really would appreciate it if you guys didn't fight in front of Liza Marie while she is staying here, and I am only saying this because I know that that is what she wants."

Then he looks at Burt before saying to Kurt, "Kurt, man, I know this has to be stressful for you, and you are worried about losing her. But if you don't chill out and try to focus on helping her get better, you will lose her!" Kurt doesn't respond and walks out as Blaine and Quinn follow him.

An hour later, Burt walks in with Carole and sees Noah holding Liza Marie as they sit in her bed watching TV. When Liza Marie notices her dad's, she buries her face into Noah's chest and says, "They'll kill me; make them go away! Nono, I don't want to hear them fight about me!"

Then she started to cry before Noah said to her, "Squirt, now come on. This is your family. I'm your friend. I know listening to them fight hurts. But they love you, and they are worried about you."

Liza Marie yells, "I know that, Nono, but they don't have to make me feel like I want to die, so they'll stop!" This made Kurt start to cry before he ran out of the room.

After that, Liza Marie got better. Although, Rick's son still bullied her, Blaine sent a letter to Noah about it while he was overseas again. As Noah reads the letter, he says to himself, "Rick, your days are numbered, you son of a bitch!"

Hey Puck,

Kurt didn't want me to tell you this, but Rick's son still bullies Liza Marie. She sent him to the hospital twice. After I let her watch a Fighting movie starring Brad Pitt and the movie Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner.

I have taken her to see your buddies once a week. I started helping out at Eric's place. Kurt is, too. Burt is the only one that I told about Fight Club. Ha, he didn't believe me until we followed Rick there. I'm a new member. I haven't told Kurt about it yet. Liza Marie did, but he didn't believe her. Ha, I beat Z twice and Rick once. By the way, Rick is out of the club for calling me a fag in front of Liza Marie. Ha, she is their mascot now, and they call her She-Puck.

Rick did stop harassing me after he was kicked out of the club, but his son has been bullying Liza Marie daily. Today, she came home with a black eye. Don't worry. I saw Rick's son. He looked worse. Dave sent me a picture, and Liza Marie sure earned her nickname.

Mr. Jamison told me Rick's son, Ricky was the one who started the name-calling and was the one who urged the other students to bully her. Her teacher finally started being a teacher after someone he loved got cancer. I also learned he is Rick's brother. It's why he didn't stop Ricky from bullying Liza Marie. He was in the closet until now and had a partner Rick knew nothing about.

Before I forget, the guys at Fight Club wanted you to know their sons are helping keep Liza Marie out of trouble. She has been hiding the fact that she is still sick from me and Kurt. I am taking her to the doctor the day you come home. I told Quinn I was picking you up. I hate to trick Liza Marie like this, but I'm afraid to lose her.

Kurt wants you to know. He is sorry for ignoring you since the day you yelled at him. Beth is still being a brat to me, but she told Liza Marie she was sorry for being jealous of your friendship.

God, Puck, I feel like Ricky is trying to kill Liza Marie by continuing the bullying. I tried to talk to Kurt about this, but he refused and changed the subject. I know he is thinking about his mom still, and I don't know what to say to him some days. Sorry, I know I'm venting here. But if I tell anyone else this, it will just start a fight with Kurt, and that's the last thing Liza Marie needs. Well, I've got to go; if anything changes with Liza Marie between now and then, I'll let you or Quinn know.

Blaine

On the day Noah returned, he saw Blaine holding Liza Marie and heard her say, "Please, Papa, don't take me back to the doctor. I don't want to do chemo again! The kids will start teasing me again!"

Then she started to cry before Noah said, "No, they won't, and I'll make sure of it."

Before long, he calls Rick and says, "We need to talk! Meet me at the warehouse in an hour! Just do it, you son of a bitch, and bring your son!" Then Blaine texted the other guys and told them about the meeting.

After the doctor's appointment, Blaine, Noah, and Liza Marie were at the warehouse. When Liza Marie saw Rick's son, she smirked and said to Noah, "Kick his ass, Uncle Hulk!"

Noah smirked at her before he turned to Rick and said, "I told you that you were going to pay for what your son did to my niece!"

Before Rick can respond, Noah attacks him as the others start chanting, "Puck!" repeatedly.

Then Rick's son yells, "Come on, Dad. Show this guy who's boss!" But Rick never gets the chance because Noah knocks him out with one good punch.

Before Liza Marie says, "Looks like he knows who the boss is here, Ricky, Now, why don't you leave me alone and stop bullying me, you son of a bitch?"

Then Ricky kisses Liza Marie before she punches him and says, "You, asshole! Are you stupid or something? I don't want to date a boy who calls my dad's fags! Now, take your dad out of here before I have these guys drag you out!" Then her face goes white before she passes out.

Later, when she wakes up in the hospital, she hears Kurt yelling at Blaine and Noah before Burt says, "Calm down, son, or you'll give yourself a heart attack!"

which makes Noah and Blaine chuckle before Kurt says, "Dad, really?"

Then Carole says, "Yes, Kurt, really! You being like this is not helping Liza Marie!"

Kurt yells back at her, "And watching Blaine or Puck beat up guys that used to bully me is?!"

Then he tells Blaine, "I followed you there last week!"

Soon Beth comes in and says, "Kurt, stop! Do you want this to be Liza Marie's last memory of you?"

She turns to Blaine and says, "Really sorry, I was being a bitch to you, Blaine. You didn't deserve that, and neither does Liza Marie."

Then she turned to Noah and said, "You will always be my dad, and I followed you too. So did Quinn, and she made Ricky pee his pants. She is friends with his mom, and he is scared of her. Ha, so is Rick."

Liza Marie laughs and says, "Mr. Jamison is scared of Ricky's mom too. She is also in the Air Force with Uncle Nono. She has brought a flamethrower to school twice. Her call sign is Banner."

And Noah says, "Ha, she is in my unit and was not too happy to hear that Ricky was still bullying Liza Marie. I told her about Blaine's last letter to me. Rick never tells her about the stuff Ricky did to Liza Marie. I wonder what she would say if she knew Ricky liked Liza Marie."

Soon, they hear Rick and Ricky saying, "Ow!" repeatedly. Before Quinn comes in, followed by Rick's wife, Helen, holding the two bullies by their ears.

Then she says, "Tell her you two are sorry, or I'll make good on my threat and send Ricky to military school!"

Ricky immediately caves and apologizes to Liza Marie.

But Rick says, "Never!"

Before Helen body slams him onto the floor and says, "Do it now!"

Then Rick coughs before telling Liza Marie, "I'm sorry, She-Puck. Now, you know why the guys don't call you She-Hulk."

And Helen says, "Well, from what Ricky told me, I think you are a little she-hulk, and your auntie Tana calls you that in her texts. So does your Aunt Quinn."

Liza Marie giggles before asking Ricky to come closer to her. Then she punches him and says, "I won't forgive you, and I hate you! You hurt my feelings and made the other kids be mean to me! I will never forgive you! I told you I liked you before you found out I had two dads, and you started being mean to me after your dad found out! Your dad almost made Papa's car crash twice, and I'm supposed to forgive you! I hope your mom sends you to military school after this! Now, get the hell out of here!"

Then she started to cry before Helen said to Rick, "You're sleeping on the couch tonight, and you can cook your supper while you're at it!"

Soon they are gone, and Noah holds Liza Marie as he says, "Hush, Little Princess. Uncle Hulk is here, and I won't let you get hurt again. Now, I want you to tell that cancer to fuck off!"

Then they have their foreheads against each other as Liza Marie says, "Fuck off, cancer!" repeatedly for twenty minutes.

While Noah says, "Again, soldier!" After each time she says it. Before, they both took turns roaring as the others watched in awe.

While Noah and Helen were overseas again, Helen got a letter from Rick saying:

Hey Babe,

Kurt wanted me to tell you why Quinn and Blaine haven't written in a while. It's because they're at the hospital with Little She-Hulk. She didn't think Puck should know she was worse again.

Ha, she finally made up with Ricky. But still doesn't want to be his girlfriend. Little She-Hulk looks worse, babe. I'm not sure she will be here when you and Puck come home next week. She has to have a feeding tube now because she can't hold anything down. Ha, she puked on me as payback for what I did to Blaine.

I saw another guy chasing Blaine yesterday on his way home from the hospital and saved him.

Ha, God, I swear, she might be Puck's niece, but she acts just like him.

Rachel hasn't been to see her since Kurt told her about Fight Club. By the way, Little She-Hulk asked the guys to let me back in after you left. Ha, she called me a Pussy Whipped Pansy in front of Kurt and Mr. H. She thought I needed to be back in the club to toughen up.

Z's son, Jordan, is the only other boy that comes to see Little She-Hulk. Z and Jordan are staying here. After he and Blaine became friends, he was kicked out and told to take Jordan with him.

Jordan is like Kurt. I overheard him tell Ricky not to worry; he wasn't into him that way. Z had Kurt talk to him the day after they moved in, and Little She-Hulk mostly listened to him vent about things.

She wants to see me alone tomorrow since it's Puck's birthday. I think she wants to be around someone big like him. Well, I've got to go. Blaine is calling me. God, I hope it's not about her!

Love Rick

P.S. Tell Puck he needs to apply for early leave now! Both of you do!

When they got home, Burt was the one who picked them up. As soon as they got in his truck, Noah asked, "Is Liza Marie okay?"

All Burt said was, "No." Before he got a little choked up.

When they got to Liza Marie's hospital room, they saw everyone outside crying and heard Santana singing If I Die Young softly to Liza Marie as they walked in, seeing Blaine holding Kurt.

When Liza Marie saw Noah, she just motioned for him to sit by her bed and for Santana to leave. Soon Noah holds her hand as he puts his forehead against hers, and he whispers through his tears, "Fight, Little She-Hulk, please! I love you, Squirt! Don't you dare die on me, please! Tell that cancer to fuck off! You hear me?!" Then Beth walks in just as Liza Marie's vital signs change for the better.

Soon she wanted to talk to Beth and Noah alone and had to use a notebook again. The first note she wrote was to Beth. She writes, "Sorry for making you feel like I was trying to replace you in Nono's heart. Aunt Beth, I'm scared. I don't want to die! I'm trying to fight, but it's hard. I'm not a She-Hulk! I'm not like Auntie Tana or Ricky's mom. I am going to die, and it stinks!"

After Noah reads the last sentence, he tells her, "That is bullshit, Little She-Hulk! You are going to live, and you are going to grow up to be a soldier like me! You told me that was your dream the day I gave you my blood! Come on, don't give up; you should fight!"

Then he looked at Beth before continuing, "I missed out on your Aunt Beth growing up! I am not going to miss you growing up! Think of your Papa and Dada here! Your dad lost his mother; I won't let him lose you! Now, fight!"

Then Ricky enters and says, "You might not love me, but don't give up on life just because I was an ass to you! My mom might be scary to people, but I bet you will be worse than her. Jorden told me the reason the other guys don't come to see you. It is because you scare them worse than my mom."

Liza Marie chuckles weakly, then writes in her notebook, "Tell the guys to come here. FC and Air Force buddies BENEFIT! Don't tell dads! I want to raise money for cancer research to help others."

Noah doesn't say a word and just puts his forehead against hers again as she whispers, "Fuck off cancer!" Until she falls asleep.

That night, Noah, Kurt, and Blaine were in Liza Marie's hospital room. When Blaine says, "Puck, I know about Liza Marie's plan, Z texted me earlier about it. I think she is trying to be stronger for you than us."

Noah looks at Liza Marie and says, "I know; she has a crush on me, Blaine. She told me about it the day I gave her my blood. The thing is, I love her, too. She's your daughter, but since all this started, I don't know, man. I thought, "What if that was Beth?" at first. Then, I don't know, it was like I was losing Finn all over again. I know she's just a kid, man, but I meant it when I said she's my best friend. I lost Finn; I am not losing her too." After Noah said this, Liza Marie's heart monitor went off, and they saw her nose was bleeding. Then the nurse who drew her blood runs in, followed by other nurses.

Noah stood in the doorway, watching as they tried to stabilize Liza Marie. As soon as she is stabilized. Noah takes her hands and sheds a tear as he sings Keep Holding On. Then Blaine and Kurt come in, followed by Quinn. Seeing Noah asleep in Liza Marie's bed as he holds her in his arms They also noticed he had shaved his head again and had a cancer ribbon tattoo on his chest.

As Beth comes in, Quinn says, "Don't, Beth. The last thing Liza Marie needs is to see you and Blaine fighting. We tried to keep all this from them, but she knows something is up. Now, do Liza Marie a favor and leave. I don't care if Puck has replaced you with her. That little girl keeps him going, and we all know it. Plus, he keeps her going. She almost died in the last three days and wanted to give up before Puck came in."

Beth mumbles, "Whatever." And leaves as Burt and Carole walk in.

When Noah and Liza Marie wake up an hour later, they see Burt reading a newspaper and Blaine asleep on the couch in the room. Then Kurt comes out of the bathroom, avoiding eye contact with them. Soon Liza Marie hits her tray table and writes in her notebook, "I knew it! I'm dying! I wondered why Auntie Tana sang that song to me! I don't want to die!"

Noah looks at the others and yells, "You guys might have given up on her, but I'm not! Mr. H didn't give up on Kurt's mom! I am not willing to give up on Liza Marie! She will live and grow up to be whatever she wants to be! By the way, I heard what Quinn said! I never replaced Beth with Liza Marie! She is not replacing Blaine with me! Yeah, I love her, but she has a dad, and like I told her, I'm her friend! Okay?"

Then Liza Marie starts to cry before Burt says, "Puck, this is different." Which makes Liza Marie cry more.

Noah holds Liza Marie as he says, "I don't care what you say, Mr. H! I believe she will live! I will do whatever it takes to see her grow up and do whatever she wants!" Then he rubs Liza Marie's back as everybody except Blaine leaves the room.

Blaine tells Noah, "I haven't given up on her, Puck. I want her to live just as much as you do. My daughter loves and needs you. You are her hero and the best thing for her."

Then Blaine kisses Liza Marie's forehead before saying, "Burt thinks you'll be just like he was when you have another daughter."

Then they hear Quinn yell, "Come on, Mr. H! You know he'll be ten times worse than you were, and I might be the one having a heart attack!"

Liza Marie giggles weakly before saying, "I hope I'm alive to see that. I mean, see you acting like G' Pa Burt, not Queenie having a heart attack."

This makes Noah and Blaine chuckle and whisper, "Me too, Liza Marie, me too."

On the day of the benefit, Liza Marie asks to talk to Noah alone. When they were alone, she said, "It's time to retreat, soldier. Nono, I'm not Aunt Beth. I have parents who will need you to be there for them when I die. I want to live, Nono. But I hear the doctors. I know this is the end."

Noah grabs his phone before saying, "You're wrong. The war has just begun." Then he plays Fight Song on his phone. Liza Marie sings the song as the others come in.

Then she glares at the others and screams, "You all are assholes! You told me to let go, and Nono is the only one who tells me to fight! Miracles happen, and Dada, I'm not like Nana Beth! Papa is a fighter, and so am I! Now, prepare for my benefit, and if you have anything negative to say, keep it to yourself! Got it?"

While at the benefit, Noah has Liza Marie sit on his lap, and she puts on his sunglasses before whispering, "The lights hurt my eyes, Nono." Then she listens to his heartbeat as he holds her in his arms. Noah and Burt took her back to her room at the hospital after she complained about her head hurting not long after that. Then, as the others returned to Liza Marie's hospital room an hour later, they heard Noah sing "I Won't Let Go" by Rascal Flatts.

Then Noah says, "Liza Marie just wants me, Mr. H., Kurt, and Blaine here. She is not feeling up for visitors today."

Liza Marie looks at Quinn and Rachel as Beth enters, yelling, "I don't care! That little bitch stole my daddy!"

Liza Marie pukes on Beth just as Ricky enters and lies with Liza Marie. Then Liza Marie whispers, "I love you, Ricky," as Ricky kisses her, and they both cry.

Noah looks at Blaine and Kurt and says, "Don't say it, I know. Liza Marie is dying, and we both tried to deny it. Look, I meant what I said. I feel like I'm losing my best friend here."

As the days passed, Liza Marie stopped eating and was put on a feeding tube again. She kept slipping further away, and Noah was by her side the whole time. Then, on the anniversary of Finn's death, Noah dressed up in his Air Force uniform and held Liza Marie in his arms as Rachel came in, followed by the others. Then Rachel sang "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan as Liza Marie's life faded.

Noah stares into Liza Marie's eyes as she says, "Don't cry, soldier; I'll always be with you." Before long, she passed away. Then she soon had to be pried out of Noah's arms, and Noah was the last one to leave her hospital room. Quinn was in another room on the same floor as she waited for her daughter to be born, so she didn't get to say goodbye.

Quinn yelled at Beth when Noah walked in, and Noah heard her yell, "You are not my daughter anymore, Beth! What does it matter if Puck loved Liza Marie?" Noah soon looked out the window and drowned the others out. He didn't say a word or acknowledge the others. He just blankly stares out the window as Liza Marie's last words echo in his head.

Noah didn't stay long in Quinn's room. When Kurt and Blaine start planning the funeral, they soon learn Noah had everything arranged already and was paying for it all himself. Soon Rick calls Blaine, and when Blaine answers his phone, Ricky says, "Nono is beating up Dad again, but he won't stop! Please hurry!"

Then Burt was heard talking in the background, saying, "Puck, killing Rick won't bring Liza Marie back." Then Ricky ends the call, and Blaine heads to the warehouse.

When they get there, Noah yells, "Get up! I'm not finished!" As soon as they walk in, they see that Rick is a bloody mess and can barely see. Yet Noah was still fighting him, and he only stopped when he saw Helen with Santana. He doesn't say a word and storms out.

An hour later, Burt found him staring at Finn's grave. As Burt approaches Noah, he says, "I first met Finn in kindergarten. Liza Marie reminded me of myself at that age, not Finn. I was just poor white trash to the other kids, so I became a bully so I wouldn't get bullied. She accepted me the first time I met her, Mr. H. She didn't judge me for my past and thought of me as her hero. When the truth is, she is my hero, and by the way, I just planned a funeral fit for a soldier."

Then Noah walks over to Elizabeth Hummel's grave and says, "I'm sorry for all I did to Kurt, Elizabeth. Give Liza Marie a hug for me, okay?" Noah's voice cracks before he goes to his truck and drives off.

The funeral is held at the base Noah was stationed at. Everybody soon noticed that Liza Marie was dressed in a camouflage army costume with a tiara on her head. Then Kurt whispers to Blaine, "I guess she told Puck what she wanted that day he gave her his blood. Did you tell Puck that your feud with Beth hadn't ended? " Then they heard Noah yelling at someone outside.

Blaine was the one that went outside when he heard Beth yell, "You love her more than you love me!"

Then he yells, "Will you get over yourself, Beth? Liza Marie said she was sorry for hurting your feelings. So what if Puck loves Liza Marie? She was the only little girl he got to know better! You know what? Just leave. You're not welcome here, so leave!" Soon, Beth storms out as the others arrive. Noah was asked to sit with Kurt and Blaine. General Young, Burt, and Rachel said a few words. Then Noah stood by Liza Marie's casket, facing her, as he sang "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton.

Noah sits back down and stares blankly through the rest of the service. He didn't cry the whole day, and he sent Z, Rick, and many other guys in Fight Club to the hospital for weeks after that. Blaine thought Noah was channeling all his grief over Liza Marie's death into his fights with the others. Quinn could see he wouldn't look at anyone when he came to see her. Then Quinn talks with Kurt and Blaine one day, saying, "Puck has not talked to anyone since the funeral and refuses to talk about Liza Marie. I'm worried about Puck. He hasn't been like this since Finn died." After Quinn says this, Noah walks in, looks at Quinn, and stares out the window again.

Fifteen minutes later, Noah says, "Beth was right. I loved Liza Marie more than her. God, I'm sorry, guys. She was the only little kid I could bond with other than Sarah, Finn, and Santana." Quinn's water soon broke after this, and they went to the delivery room. When their daughter was born, she looked like Liza Marie as a baby. So, Quinn named her Liza Marie Puckerman after the others looked at her in shock. When Noah brought Quinn and Liza Marie home, Quinn noticed Noah was acting the same way he did with Liza Marie. Then, as Little Liza got older, everybody noticed her acting like her namesake.

When Little Liza was one, they noticed she acted like she was playing with another baby. They heard a child whisper, "Peek-a-boo," occasionally. Then, when Little Liza was two, she was napping with Noah when Quinn heard her whisper, "I'm back, Nono." She didn't let Sarah call Noah 'Nono' around Little Liza, so she didn't know where she heard it or why she said, "I'm back." But it got Quinn thinking.

One day, Noah took Little Liza to Liza Marie's grave, and she said, "That's me!" Noah thought she read the name on the headstone and didn't correct her. It wasn't until Little Liza was doing things Liza Marie would do with Noah that he, too, wondered if Little Liza was Liza Marie reborn.

The End...?
