Hey guys just want to say that this fanfic is inspired by yugioh gx season 4 Darkness arc. so if anything sounds familiar then that's why. some of the plot points might be similar but the over all fanfic is mostly going to be different from the anime i took inspiration from.
7 years after the events of Lincoln's louds ghost-hunting adventure Lincoln lays in his bed as an 18-year-old adult thinking about his past adventure with his 3 sisters. He remembers the crazy shenanigans that took place that almost got his two sisters, Lynn and Lucy almost trapped in a mirror dimension forever. He smiles at the memory wishing that his life was always as exciting as that one day at the haunted house. The more he thinks about the haunted house he begins to remember the ghost Raphael and the weird powers he had. Lincoln was especially intrigued by the back story of the house and the other entities that roamed through the house. But unfortunately, he nether found out the answers to those questions he really wanted to get answers to.
With Lincoln being an adult, he faced many issues over the years. Especially being moody during teenage years. He got into many fights and arguments with the ones who he loved. He didn't know what happened to him to make him act like that but has a theory of what it could be. The haunted house. Even since he went to the house it caused him to change a lot. he went from a smiling happy go lucky kid to a quiet kid who avoided the ones he loved. He remembers the day that he almost got his 2 sisters killed because of his own curiosity getting the better of him putting them in danger. He cringes at the thought of how that situation would change if it weren't for Raphael saving them.
he gets up from his bed and makes his way to his window. He stares through the window at the dark blue sky remembering how happy he used to be. He loved living in a house with 10 sisters. Even tho sometimes he found them annoying and mean. Especially that one time with the squirrel suit. He couldn't help but miss them. now being 18 he was the oldest sibling in the house. All his older sisters left and strived for bigger and better things leaving Lincoln as the next sibling to take the next step.
He begins to think of what he really wants in life. When he was 11, he really wanted to be and comic writer and an artist but through the years he grew out of that phase. He decided in college that he wanted to become a software developer. The one thing Lincoln loved was creating his own projects and being a software developer would help him achieve those goals substantially.
Lincoln opens the window causing a nice cold breeze of air to enter the room causing him to shake. He begins to contemplate what really is out there in the world. Before he went to the haunted house, he believed that ghost wasn't real, and that they were a myth to scare children. But now seeing a real ghost he begins to ponder if he is always being watched by some mysterious entity he can't see.
Concluding that something will always be watching from the heavens or hell he makes his way to the mirror at the corner of his room and looks at himself. Over the years he has become way taller. Hess was around the same height as Lori when she was 18. Maybe a little bit taller. When he was 16, he started to grow a beard. Not one of those bushy bears you see old people have but those beards you see supermodels have on tv. Lincoln smiles at least he got a good beard. He takes off his shirt to admire the progress he has made to his body. Over the years he began going to the gym with Clyde before their fallout and made a lot of progress. He's way more muscular than he used to be. He's no longer the scrawny kid he used to be.
He puts his shirt back and makes his way downstairs to get himself a late-night snack. Lincoln spent a lot of time in his teenage years staying up late on his computer with his friends' playing games through the night hardly getting any sleep. He remembers one day he stayed up until 4 pm with Clyde trying and succeeding to get the platinum trophy for Minecraft. His gaming addiction and lack of sleep got so bad that he woke up at 4 pm on Luans 18th birthday. As you guessed she got really pissed at me which caused a massive dent in our relationship.
Making his way downstairs he enters the kitchen and begins to make himself a bowl of cereal. His favourite was weetos cereal because of its texture and flavour of them. Lincoln like a sane person puts the cereal in then the milk. He makes his way into the living room and spots his sister Lucy doing one of her magic rituals. In the last 7 years, Lincoln noticed that Lucy's liking of the supernatural increased a lot. in Lincoln's mind he couldn't blame her because she has seen a real-life ghost. Getting a better look at what ritual she's performing he realizes that she is doing one of those future-guessing ones. The one which predicts the future and what challenges you are going to face.
Lincoln bored not having anything else to do approaches his sister to see what's up". Hey Lucy, I see you're doing one of those rituals again".
Lucy nods" Yes, I am Lincoln, however, I think you should be worried by the result I got".
Lincoln's eyebrows raise intrigued by what said" And what do you mean by that?" getting closer to the magic orb and admiring it" Also when did these orbs become transparent?
Lincoln we can worry about that later. What I'm going to tell you is serious so you better focus."
"Carryon"
"Lincoln, you know how I use these orbs to predict the future. They haven't failed me once. You remember that time I asked it if Luans comedy gig was going to bomb it said yes".
Lincoln nods remembering that day clearly.
"so Lincoln I asked it if anything bad is going to happen soon and it said yes"
"Did it describe what was going to happen?
"Yes! It said that some dark entity is going to consume the world into darkness".
Lincoln intrigued sits down on the floor cereal in hand" Darkness? "He said, "The last time I heard of darkness is when we went to the haunted house when we were younger."
"Yeah, I remember Raphael mentioning it, but I didn't really pay attention to what he was saying I was too glad to be let back into the world."
Lincoln stands up and makes an offer to Lucy to talk about what they have found out tomorrow because Lincoln wants to go to bed. Lucy accepts his offer and Lincoln make his way into his bedroom and lays on his bed falling to sleep without making a sound.
An hour passes by, and Lincoln is having a nice peaceful sleep dreaming about the good memories he had when he was a child. But soon those memories begin to get corrupted in dark twisted mystifications and slowly become terrifying images of people suffering. Lincoln begins to twist and turn in his bed trying to remove the images from his head, but the thought doesn't go away.
After a while the disturbing images slowly fade away and the only things, he can see are a familiar door, the golden key, and the ghost of Raphael.
Lincoln wakes up the next morning at 1 pm in the afternoon. He slowly opens his eyes feeling the beam of sun blinding him. He blocks his eyes and makes his way to the window and closes the curtains. Closing the curtains, he realizes that closed his curtains the night before. Was it one of the family members opening it up to wake him up? Or was some strange entity opening it? Lincoln not wanting to give it much thought shakes it off and begins to put his clothes on. He puts on a nice blue shirt with some grey jeans and makes his way to the bathroom. He makes his way to the bathroom and begins to brush his teeth wondering what he's going to do today. He scrubs his teeth to try to make them look shiny as possible. Done brushing his teeth he exits the bathroom and begins to make his way downstairs. on his way, he hears Lisa and Lucy talk about strange occurrences that have been happening recently. Intrigued Lincoln makes his way to Lisa's room. Entering the room, he sees Lucy and Lisa looking at Lisa's computer looking at recent news.
As Lincoln approaches them, Lucy looks up and notices him" Hey Lincoln did you get a good night's sleep" she asks.
Lincoln nods and replies" Yeah, I had a decent sleep. But I had some weird dreams".
Lucy looks at him with intrigue and concern then hesitantly ask" What kind of dreams".
Lincoln hesitates before answering and gives the air a quick thought" I dreamt last night of some dark topics. I don't really remember that much".
Lisa who has scrolling online on the latest articles trying to find any information interrupts them both" Guys listen" She says" There has been a report of strange occurrences happening in the town such as blackouts, strange sounds, and people seeing dark figures lurking in the night. Also, recently it feels like it reaches night-time way faster than I remember.
Lincoln looks at Lisa" Yeah, It's strange. It feels like all the important events happen at night. I don't even remember most of the daytime hours anymore.
Lincoln looks at Lucy" Could this be related to what you saw in the orb last night" he asks".
Lucy nods slowly afraid that her orb might be right" it possible but we need to find more information to make a clear conclusion".
Lisa pulls a map from her computer where all the strange occurrences have happened Lucky no strange occurrences have not been caught in royal woods yet. But Lincoln knows in the back of his mind that the strange sightings will begin in his hometown.
The one place Lisa lists that catches his attention is great lakes city the place where Ronnie Ann, Bobby, and Lori live.
Ever since Lori got married, she moved to the great lakes to live her life with Bobby causing a dent in their relationship ship. It's not like they haven't fallen out or anything it's just that Lincoln hasn't talked to her for 5 years so he hopes when he does go there to check out the strange occurrences, he can meet his sister and catch up with her.
Lincoln focusing on the mission tells them both that they should start their search tomorrow and should begin to research ways they can stop this threat. Lucy and Lisa agree, and they spend the next hour discussing their plans on what to do. After the hour Lincoln leaves the room to get a breath of fresh air while Lucy and Lisa continue gathering information about the strange entity.
Existing Lisa's room he tries to remember what he dreamed yesterday. He remembers the weird visions he was having of people suffering but he swore there was something else he should know. He closes his eyes in the hallway trying to remember. From an outsider's view, he would look like a complete idiot, but this was something too serious to care about other people's opinions about him. After 3 minutes he remembers what he was missing
"The Bloody Door, the Golden Key! And Raphael" he says to himself.
Lincoln walks down the stairs looks and makes his way to the back garden. He looks around and sees his 2 younger sisters Lola and Lana talking to each other. Lincoln trying to of his paranoia approaches his sisters to see what's up" Hey Lola and Lana what are you two doing?
Oh, nothing Lincoln I was telling Lana about my latest pageant win because I'm the most beautiful girl in the world.
Lincoln chuckles at Lola's confidence" Great job Lola keep up the good work, hey have you two been noticing anything strange happening recently?
Lana looks up at Lincoln curiously then replies" No not really Lincoln. What kind of strange thing are you talking about anyway?"
Lincoln hesitates for a moment not wanting to tell his younger sisters but tells them anyway because he wants them to be safe" There's been a lot of sightings of strange dark figures looming around at night so stay on your guard ok.
Lana and Lola's exchanged worried looks at each other. Lola speaks up" What can we do to get rid of the dark creatures"
Lincoln smiles at his sister's eagerness to help people" We are going to places that have been reporting sightings tomorrow. I recommend you two to stay inside for the time being just to be safe ok."
The two sisters nod at Lincoln's request and make their way inside. Lincoln looks up at the sky wishing that his sisters won't get hurt by the twisted dark figures. He stays outside for hours thinking about what he's going to do later.
Multiple hours pass by and its midnight. All loud siblings are asleep except for one. The person who was awake was Lincoln loud. Ever since earlier when remembered "the bloody door, the golden key, and Raphael" that's all that's been on his mind.
In his mind, he knew that what he was dreaming had a connection to the events that are transpiring right now. Lincoln deciding to matter into his own hands quietly gets out of bed and puts on some clothes for him to wear. He quietly opens the door and sneaks his way downstairs.
Lincoln now being a hardened adult not giving a crap what gets sent in his way makes his way into the garage. When Lincoln was 17, he got his driving license as Lori did. Being the oldest in the house it was his turn to be in charge and take all of his younger sisters to school. At first, he somewhat enjoyed it. being able to spend time with the sisters he doesn't spend that much time with was cool at first. But after an incident almost causes him to crash vanzilla over Lola and Lana's argument. He realized how exhausting it was to take them to school every day. But luckily passing his driving test allowed him to buy a motorbike.
As Lincoln got on his motorbike, he felt a sense of freedom. Not having to worry about his younger sisters arguing he peacefully drive the through the night, he reeves up his engine feeling the freedom flowing into his blood he turns on his lights and takes into the night. Driving through the road he could feel the rain falling down on him causing him to be extra cautious while driving. A massive gust of wind rushed past him causing him to smile.
Lincoln Loud always loved motorbikes. He remembers seeing then a tv show when he was younger and when he saw one he instantly fixated on them. now owning one he realised that the main reason why he loved them so much was the sense of freedom. Feeling the weather flow right passed you made his journeys way more immersive.
Riding through the darkened streets and the shimmering lights and inexistent traffic he remembered the main mission of this journey was to find Raphael. Spending the next 15 minutes driving through the night he eventually made his way to the old ghost house.
He drives through the old broken gate Lori broke 7 years ago. It puts a smile on his face remembering the memory. He parks his motorbike outside and he makes his way inside. Opening the door, he looks inside the house. He notices that the house is more broken down than ever with the walls completely torn off and pieces of glass shards on the floor everywhere like a minefield. Lincoln Looks around to try to find something interesting. He looks to the floor and notices a photo. Lincoln intrigued makes his way to the photo and picks it up. It shows a photo of a group of teenagers having a birthday party at the house. Lincoln looks at the photo harder to try to see what time period it could have been. First of all, it was in colour, so it had to be recent. Looking at the photo more he recognizes some of the faces and realizes that the people in the photo were some of his old high school friends.
Making his way down the basement stairs he grabs the flashlight from his pocket and turns it on. He slowly makes his way down the stairs making sure not to fall. He makes it down safe and sound. Now in the basement, he gets reminded of the awful smell from years ago. The smell of a dead corpse. He blocks his nose and makes it to the bloody door. Strangely tho the door is locked, and it seems like he needs to find the golden key again. Lincoln signing in annoyance that he has to go through obstacles of finding the golden key again begins walking around the room to find it. On his boring adventure, he found the old chest which contained the map he and his sisters used to find the secret room. Using the strength he has built over the years he was able to open the chest with ease.
Down with a look through the chest, he continues with his search.
"Where's the goddam golden key," he says.
Annoyed he kicks a box on the floor and hears a piece of metal fall onto the ground. Intrigued he walks over to the where sound came from. Looking down he finds the golden key and smiles with joy. Grabbing the key, he makes his way to the door and opens it. entering the room he gets a nostalgic feeling. He remembers the time when he first summoned Raphael and the spectacle it was.
sees the old Ouija board on the table from so many years ago. He walks over that is covered in a thick layer of dust. He wipes off the dust and remembers the first time Luan summoned Raphael and weirdly nice he was. He was their last hope of saving his sisters. He came to their aid and saved them not wanting anything in return but spreading positive energy. Lincoln chuckles "Maybe resurrecting him won't be bad at all".
he begins to set up the table. He places his finger on the cone and starts to ask a question." Raphael, are you there?" Lincoln looks down and waits for a response. 5 seconds later the cone slowly begins to move and spells out the letter L-I-N-C-O-L-N
Lincoln begins to feel a sense of fear. He has never seen an Ouija board spell out his name before. He buries his emotions and carries on with the mission" Raphael is this truly you talking to me".
The cone moves again spelling out Y-E-S. Lincoln looks down stunned that he's going to meet his old "friend" Lincoln regaining his composure asks". Raphael why were you in my dream".
The cone mover again spelling W-A-R-N-I-N-G
Lincoln's heart begins to race. What kind of warning is he sending him and why does he feel like it involves what Lucy showed him? Lincoln asks" What kind of warning Raphael?"
He closes his eyes not wanting to see what warning it could be. He sits there for 10 seconds thinking of the worse outcomes imaginable. He reopens his eyes and sees D-A-N-G-E-R
Danger What kind of danger
D-A-R-K-N-E-S-S
Lincoln looks down in sorrow. He knew that when he said warning it would involve something to do with Darkness. Lincoln remembers what Lisa told him earlier about the shadow figures' sightings. He sighs knowing that the new threat is going to hurt his friends, his loved ones, and especially his family.
Lincoln looks down with a defeated attitude and asks the Ouija board one final question" Raphael is there any way you can help me take down this threat."
The cone moves to say Y-E-S
Before Lincoln could react to the good news, he sees a flashing blue light in front of him. He takes a step back and blocks his eyes from the blinding light. He blocks his eyes for 30 seconds. Feeling that the light has dimmed down he reopens his eyes to see the old ghost he saw so long ago. But he looks different in a couple of ways. He looks way older and mature like he's actually aged since his last encounter.
Raphael smiles down at Lincoln and says" Hey Lincoln it's been a while hasn't it".
Lincoln smiles back" Yeah it really is".
Raphael's smile fades away and his look becomes serious" Thank you for summoning me. I know you won't be able to take this threat alone.
Lincoln nods" Thank you." Lincoln begins to pounder with a question and hits him like a ton of bricks "Can you tell me anything about darkness".
Raphael nods" Okay, Lincoln you remember how 7 years ago I told you that darkness can only roam around this house and that's it"?
Lincoln nods feeling a sense of dread" Yeah, I remember".
Raphael signs" Well some teenagers decided to mess around with the Ouija board last year and reawaken the dark entity.
Lincoln confused at first wonders what he means by that. But then it hits him. "The picture," he says". Remembering the picture from upstairs
Repeal looks at him confused" What picture".
Lincoln sighs" There was a picture of a group of teenagers laying on the floor when I opened the front entrance. It seems like they were having some kind of party.
Raphael signs in disappointment" Well I guess those were the people who Reawaken the darkness then. They were probably drunk and didn't know any better.
"I thought you protected the house why didn't you stop them from entering".
"Lincoln, I know this is going to sound like a lot of tomfoolery, but I do take rest some days protecting the house."
Lincoln nods understanding what he means" Yeah sometimes I wish I can have rest days too"
Lincoln I'm going to do something that will annoy you but it's for the greater good.
Before Lincoln can say anything Raphael flies into his body
As Raphael enters Lincoln's body, Lincoln can feel a sudden jolt of energy run through him like he's having a heart attack. He feels the ghost fusing inside of him like two souls becoming one with each other. After a 10-second period, the function ends. Lincoln looks around to see if he can look at himself to see what's changed about his appearance. Not finding anything he goes on his phone and looks at himself. Surprisingly he doesn't look any different at all. He sighs in relief.
Suddenly he hears a voice" Lincoln can you hear me" he asks
Lincoln responds" Yeah Raphael, I can hear you" His voice sounds deeper and rougher like he's just aged 10 years.
Good Raphael says" I have merged our bodies together to fight off the darkness. I will be able to grant you the powers you've dreamed of.
Lincoln nods and tries to get a feel of his new body. He realizes that he has way more energy than before and a greater amount of strength.
Suddenly he hears a sound from behind him. He turns around to see his sister Lucy from behind. At first, he smiles with joy seeing his sister. Be getting a extra look at her she seems off. her demeanor is completely different from what she usually is. Instead of the chill friendly but bland attitude she usually has. She now has a rougher darker look.
Lucy walks up to Lincoln" Hey Lincoln how's it been?" sounding overly friendly.
Lincoln's eyes become heterochronic with his left eye becoming blue and his right eye becoming white. He stares at her with an angered expression and speaks. "Your tricks won't work on me Darkness! I know exactly who you are!"
