Prologue

"Wait, how long will this search take? I still have a city to protect." Spider-Man asked.

"Not to worry. I have the situation under control. This search could take quite a long time, but New York still needs Spider-Man, and it always will." Madame Web said before she opened a view portal that showed the Spider-Man that was powerless.

"Hey, Madame Web, what's up?" he asked.

"Me and this Spider-Man have decided to set out on a search for the real Mary Jane Watson. But, in the meantime, we need you to stay here and protect New York City for us." Madame Web said.

"Wait, what?! How can I protect New York?! I don't have any powers!" Spider-Man 2 said.

"Stay calm. Behoooold!" Madame Web said before she waved her hands and surrounded the other Spider-Man with a green mist. Suddenly, he felt much more powerful.

"Woah, that's a rush! I suddenly feel different!" said the other Spider-Man.

"Madame Web, what did you do?" Spider-Man asked.

"I have granted this Spider-Man powers he could not do without. Now, say your goodbyes. We must be on our way." Madame Web said.

"Wait, what about Aunt May?!" Spider-Man asked.

"Stay calm. I have explained everything to your loved ones and they understand fully. However, your aunt does insist that you contact every now and then." Madame Web said.

"Well, good. Wait, did you-" Spider-Man asked before he was cut off.

"Yes, and your Aunt May is very proud of who you've become. Now, we must be on our way." Madame Web said.

Spider-Man floated over to the other Spider-Man and said, "Well, Spider-Man, I guess this is it. I leave the city of New York in your hands. Good luck." he said as he shook his hand.

"Good luck to you, too, Spider-Man. I hope you find MJ. Hope it's okay if I call her that." Spider-Man 2 said.

"No problem, that's what everyone calls her. See you later!" Spider-Man called before he drifted off with Madame Web and left the other Spider-Man on a roof. He looked out at New York City.

"Well, guess it's time I got started." Spider-Man said before he leapt off the building and shot a web and swung.

"WOAH! WOW! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW EXHILARATING THIS IS!" Spider-Man said before he heard a scream. He saw the arcade had just gotten held up and the robbers were driving away.

"Well, duty calls for the first time." Spider-Man said before he swung down and used precision to land on top of the car and started pounding on it. He suddenly got a sense of danger and leaned to the right to avoid a gunshot through the roof before he pounded on the roof more, eventually causing the drivers to stop and get out. They shot at him, but thanks to his Spider-Reflexes and Spider-Sense, he avoided each bullet like they were slowed down and beat the thugs in a matter of minutes. After which, he webbed them up and left them for the police.

For the rest of the day, Spider-Man stepped up the game, stopping crime wherever he was needed. But soon, something different happened. He landed on a roof and was suddenly scared by a voice that he could tell wasn't a crook.

"HELP!" a female voice called. Spider-Man looked down and saw a woman with white hair under attack from a gang of thugs.

Spider-Man leapt down in front of her and defeated the thugs easily. He then looked behind him and saw that the woman was none other than Black Cat. He helped her up.

"Are you okay?" Spider-Man asked.

"In all my years of work, never has the Black Cat been cornered so easily." Black Cat said.

"Well, you're in luck, because your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was close by." Spider-Man said.

"Thanks, Spider. I was in a real pickle there." Black Cat said as she got close, causing Spider-Man to back up.

"Hold it, Black Cat! Isn't this a little too fast?" Spider-Man said.

"Well, in this city, you don't have time to go slow. You know, it seems like there's something different about you." Black Cat said before she reached towards him, only for him to grab her hands.

"Cat, listen, there's something I have to tell you." Spider-Man said. He then explained everything. He explained how the Spider-Man she knew was on a journey to find Mary Jane and how he was a Spider-Man from an alternate reality.

After this, Black Cat looked discouraged, "I see." she said before she started to slump away. Spider-Man felt bad for her before he got an idea.

Later, Black Cat arrived back at her mansion and saw that there was a huge bouquet of flowers on the table.

"Who did these come from?" Black Cat asked.

"Why, they came from me." said a voice from above. Black Cat looked and, to her shock, saw Spider-Man.

"Spider-Man?!" she asked as he dropped down on a web.

"Yep. Hey, Cat, listen, I know I made you feel bad, and I know I'm not the Spider-Man you know, but, if you'll let me, I'll be willing to give you a shot." Spider-Man said.

"Spider, are you sure?" Black Cat asked before Spider-Man grabbed her with a web and kissed her.

"I'll take that as a yes." Black Cat said.

From that day on, Spider-Man and the Black Cat fought crime together, always having the other's back through thick and thin. They had beaten every opponent they had come across.

However, one day, Spider-Man wasn't around and Black Cat had to fight crime alone that day. She then saw the Spider-Signal later that night coming from her mansion and hurried over, seeing Spider-Man beside it.

"You better have a good explanation for why I had to fight crime alone today!" Black Cat said.

"I did." Spider-Man said before he bent on one knee and took out a ring in a box.

"Felicia Hardy, AKA Black Cat, will you marry me?" Spider-Man asked.

Black Cat was stunned before she answered, "Yes."

Some time later...

"I pronounce this couple husband and wife." said a priest as Felicia and Peter, who had changed his name to Dale Scotts in the event that Peter returned from his search, sealed their marriage. This drew the applause of their families and friends, even J. Jonah Jameson, who had hired Dale as photographer in Peter's place when he discovered he had gone to search for Mary-Jane. (But he still doesn't know he's Spider-Man.)

After that day, Spider-Man and Black Cat became the best crime-fighting pair in New York. Not a single opponent could topple them. However, that didn't change the fact something did happen to put Black Cat out of commission for a while. What, you might wonder?

One day, Dale and Felicia came home from the hospital to their families, holding a little bundle wrapped in cloth.

"Dale, Felicia, you're back! How are you two?!" asked Felicia's mom.

"Just fine." Felicia said before she showed them the bundle was an infant child with black hair.

"Everyone, meet our son, Stan." said Dale.

With a marriage, and now a son, the two NYC heroes looked forward to the future, and could only wonder what lied ahead.
