I love you too, Sevvy
Concerned, she looked around at the survivors standing in the Great Hall. She watched the Malfoy family, one of the greatest surprises of the last hours, mourn one of the fallen. A wizard who was considered a traitor until the last moment of his life.
It was then that she saw how much Severus Snape meant to Lucius Malfoy. It was for him, after all, that he had turned his back on the beliefs of his ancestors long before this family had fallen in the eyes of the Dark Lord.
She felt tears come to her eyes. She felt that she starting to fall apart.
Suddenly, she realized that someone was trying to grab her hand. Accustomed to the constant vigilance that Alastor Moody had insisted on, she turned, ready to cast a spell at her attacker. However, instead of the attacker, Ronald Weasley was standing right next to her.
"What happened Ron? Could you stop touching me?"
As a look of perplexity appeared on her friend's face, a sense of guilt blossomed in Hermione's heart, which quickly faded when she heard what the boy had to say.
"I want everyone to see that you are no longer available."
The Gryffindor knew that a line appeared between her eyebrows. The same crease her father gets when he's annoyed.
"We agreed that we would try. You don't have to mark your territory like some stray dog." - Saying this, she didn't pay attention to the looks of those who were surprised by her behavior.
"You know that's not what I meant. I wanted everyone to know that you are mine."
"You must be so insensitive?"
She knew she was irrational. Ron was a lovely boy but… His family survived intact. Others weren't so lucky. She wasn't so lucky.
"You agreed. I don't understand why this is a problem for you."
He was right. It shouldn't be a problem for her. - "I just don't think this is the time for that... Look how many people are mourning right now. Look at Remus mourning his wife. I mourn the loss of my father. Give me time to grieve before you expect me to play the love and happy girl."
She closed her eyes, not wanting to see his reaction. After a while, she heard the sound of the door opening, after which the Great Hall was plunged into silence. Curious, she looked towards the source of the commotion. What she saw made her hold her breath.
Severus Snape was standing in the doorway. He was weak, bloodied, but… Alive.
She sprang towards him. She ran as fast as her tired body would allow. She breathed a sigh of relief only when the dark-haired wizard's arms tightened on her in a suffocating embrace.
"Calm down honey, calm down…" - he whispered directly into her ear.
"I was so afraid of losing you..."
"I'm too stubborn to give up my family. Do you know what your mother would have done to me if I hadn't made it out alive?"
Hermione Granger didn't have time to answer that question. She was torn from her father by the strong arms of a nervous Ronald Weasley. - "So that's why you don't want everyone to know about our relationship? I take it you might have a soft spot not only for me but for Snape? He is our teacher!"
"I'm her father, Mr. Weasley. And you just blew every chance you had of getting me to agree to your relationship with my daughter. I'd rather marry her off to my godson if his father wouldn't mind."
At that moment, they heard the deep voice of Lucius Malfoy. - "But Severus" - the blond wizard held out his hand, which Severus Snape habitually shook - "I'd love to welcome your daughter into my family."
As Lord Malfoy finished speaking, a silvery thread appeared between Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy joining their wrists. It wasn't long before the thread disappeared and identical bracelet-like tattoos appeared on the wrists, consisting of lines that looked like braids.
"What the hell is this?" - The potions master snarled, looking at Lucius, correctly guessing that the stubborn blonde had once again brought them trouble.
"Severus..." - Draco's voice trembled - "If I'm not mistaken, my father took advantage of your declaration. He used it to get me and Gra… He got me engaged to your daughter, uncle."
"Lucius, I'll kill you."
The former Slytherin smiled at his wife. His smile widened as he saw Narcissa barely contain her burst of laughter. - "I love you too, Sevvy. And just think, you'll never get rid of me. We will be a family."
