Chapter two

DPOV

"your majesty it's time we should get going the sun shall be down soon" I told Lissa as I looked at my watch, she decided yesterday that she was annoyed with shopping online and wanted to have a day out, I agreed as long as we took at least six other guardians. We would have been just fine if Roza as here we'd only need at most another two guardians, unfortunately Roza left in the middle of the night without a word we were cut up for days, now we were slowly getting used to the idea that our Rose may never come back.

We all left the mall lissa and Mia up front with us slightly behind I walked a little closer just in case. Outside the sun dipped below the horizon, we'd have to make the trip back quick.

"Eyes open Guardians" I said into the radio, there was some crackling then Eddie Castile replied for the rest of the team "eyes are peeled boss"

I felt a little happier knowing that there was someone on the job and was listening. They all trooped into the cars we had and soon we were on the road back to court. Not far from court one of the tyres decided to blow I got out and saw that it wasn't in fact blow it was shredded. I jumped in the car and locked all windows and doors foot on the gas ready to go when Lissa and Mia screamed at the top of their lungs, at the corner of my eye I saw a strigoi coming at me ready to come through the window. Lissa sat in the backseat shaking and saying over and over "Rose I need you"

A gun shot rang out and the strigoi that was near the window dropped down dead I jumped out of the car looked around and saw someone not far from the gates, there was the sound of hissing and laughing behind me, I slowly turned to see about twenty pairs of glowing red eyes staring right back at me. The person at the gates came running up and the battle began, I'd fought hard by the end we'd lost two guardians and three others injured. The person that had shot the strigoi near my window was female they had a balaclava covering her face, Lissa got out and thanked the person, she gave a short bow revealing a little of her neck she had a battle mark that was slightly old looking. The woman walked away but I suddenly grabbed her arm she tore her arm from my hands and looked me right in the eyes and those eyes reminded me so much of Rose, they had their gun pointed right at my head, my hands were above my head I was surrendering for now behind me Lissa spoke

"Dimitri let them go"

I sighed I had a good long look in her eyes my heart was telling me it was Roza but my head was calling me an idiot she wasn't coming back, pain exploded in the side of my head I fell to the floor in surprise, I tried to grab onto something I did it was cloth but still went down I looked at my charge and her eyes were wide I looked up to the woman and it was Roza my Roza was standing in front of me the others went to rush at her but she pulled her guns on them and told them not to come any closer, her eyes were blank her face null and void of any emotion, "Roza" I breathed she heard me, fire flicked in her eyes, she had the gun to my temple

"Don't ever call me that again" she spat at me I couldn't help but feel my heart break at what she'd become.

Her face was a mass of emotions it was like she was battling with herself.

I looked her right in the eyes I would no plead with her if she chose to pull that trigger, a click rang out, the mag fell beside me, still staring her in the eyes I slowly went to get back up but was knocked down again she'd kicked me right in the face, blood ran down my chin from my lip

"Rose what are you playing at!" screamed Lissa

Rose glared at her and walked off leaving us all stunned.
