This is a very long chapter i hope you all enjoy and i may update again at some point this week :)
Chapter Eight
Dimitri POV
I watched as Rose walked down the hall with Christian, feeling heavy hearted I hope one day she'll forgive me or just let my Roza out of that box she's put her in. it pains me to see her this way, the way I've made her. She's so bitter now but I guess that's what a broken heart and endless battles do to someone. I noticed her scars for the very first time I didn't care, they made her look even more beautiful but if I know Rose as well as I do she'll think they are ugly and ashamed of them but they are reminders that she is a survivor and one hell of a fighter. Heavy boots steps came down the hall I looked around to see it was Rose's new friend Bloodstone. She never spoke but turned her nose up at me. Rose must have told her what happened all those years ago. I finally made my feet move and dragged my sorry ass back to the Guardian staff room.
Inside I found a few Guardians. Guardian Tanner spoke up over the silence
"Hathaway still not talking to you?" he asked
I grimly nodded I was about to open my mouth when one of Lissa's other guardians came staggering through the door
"She's gone, they took them King, Queen and Hathaway, gone" he muttered
That was it the whole place was on red alert. Guardians scrambled but me I hesitated as a thousand scenarios went through my head. Someone has taken Rose and I had failed her again, what was left of my soul broke leaving little shards. Someone slapped me out it I focused on Janine Hathaway's face and she looked distraught.
"Get in the game Belikov, she needs you right now" she snapped at me I nodded in agreement and ran to the front gates.
Once there out of breath I saw the Guardian on duty out cold, I propped him up then replayed the tapes from the last few moments finally there on the tape a black van came into view I scribbled down the vans plate number and make.
Clutching onto the paper as I ran bake to Janine I almost knocked someone down; I quickly stopped to see who it was. Adrian Ivashkov sat on the ground glaring at me
"Sorry Lord Ivashkov, Rose Lissa and Christian have been taken and we will need your help" he looked up at me puzzled as I extended my hand to him which he knocked aside
"I can't slightly drunk" he slurred
I picked him up and helped him steady himself
"Look we need your help and so help me god you'll be sober in the next 4 minutes"
Ivashkov looked afraid then I soon found out why Abe Mazur was standing next to me
"Come on pup let's get you sober" he said as he put Adrian's arm around his shoulders
"Belikov I'll have back over in 3" I nodded the ran back to Guardian Hathaway
Rose's POV
I flitted in and out of unconsciousness, I had no clue as to where I was then Lissa's voice rang out in my mind.
"It's a trap"
I went to stand up but couldn't I looked around trying to focus, I tried to move my arms but they were tied behind my back.
"Thank god you're awake, I was just about to set you a light a little" Christian's voice floated from a dark corner, the sound of a chair being shuffled along the floor soon followed, then Christian came into view
"Lord Ozera, are you ok?" I asked
He frowned at me "Rose cut the formal crap"
"So where are we?" I asked hoping he knew more than me
"Well we are tied down in a warehouse somewhere and Lissa isn't with us"
My heartbeat suddenly shot up, I had to get free and fast. The sound of a creaking door brought my attention to the other side of the room
Hunter had come in and I couldn't be happier to see him.
"Finally you're slacking Hunter" I snapped,
He knelt down in front of me; I noticed the cruel smile on his face
"I'm not the here to rescue you, I'm here to laugh in your face" he spat
"you dirty little traitor, I've saved you ass more times that I care to think about and this is how you repay me, by kidnapping the Queen, Lord Ozera and me, just you wait you arrogant little bug, I'm going to make you beg for death when I get free and that's a promise" I shouted, I saw Christian shrink a little in his chair
Hunter laughed in my face "you won't get near me not when this lovely young woman is done with you" he beckoned someone forward.
There out the darkness of the room came Bloodstone, my breathing stopped and my heartbeat trebled.
"How could you do this to Rose, she's your friend" Exploded Christian
Bloodstone was over to him in the blink of an eye, she slapped him and it must have hurt but he never cried out.
Christian looked at me and hung his head but it lightly bobbed three times and that was all I needed Bloodstone was Strigoi, I couldn't see her eyes as my vision wasn't great just yet
"Rose look at you, you were once someone to look up to, even for us outsiders but now you've went back to being a love sick teenager all over Belikov, you may not have shown it but we know what he means to you since you're forever calling out his name in your sleep, you'll get to see us rip apart everything you love and we'll start with your beloved Lissa" she gave me an evil grin
I thrashed about trying to break my bonds but failing,
"I swear to god, if you've hurt her in anyway I'll make you regret the day you were spawned"
The anger was building inside and this was good, the angrier I got the better fighter I was.
"Your side kick will do nicely for a snack" Bloodstone hissed
Before I could even yell out she'd bit Christian, he still didn't cry out
"Look at him so pathetic, not fighting back, I bet your blood is just reaching boiling point and there is nothing you can do about it" Hunter whispered in my ear,
I turned to face him I looked into his eyes, he blinked then they were ringed in red
"Yes contacts work well with us but we can only keep them in for so long, that's how we fooled you and you band of merry men, they aren't that smart considering they are the best"
With everything I had left in me I head butted him and was rewarded with a very satisfying crunch, he reeled back but his heavy boot collided with my head and I was out cold again
I found myself back at the Academy in my old room. The door opened and Adrian appeared
"Little dhampire where the hell are you?" he asked
"I don't know a warehouse somewhere it can't been far from court since the sun is up get everyone to scout the area and tell Dimitri my room-"the dream was fading I was getting woke up
"Hurry, tell Belikov what?" Adrian snapped
"My room, trunk, bed" Adrian nodded and was about to say something more but the dream faded
Someone was slapping my face
"Yeah stop it I'm awake" Bloodstone cruel eyes were on me and I couldn't help but feel a little fear creep in, I pushed it down and looked at her
"What?" she snapped
I chuckled "just seeing how many ways I can kill you painfully" she punched Christian and his head snapped to one side
"When I get my hands free your toast" he hissed
Bloodstone and Hunter laughed
"Dear sister shall we see how Queenie is doing?" Bloodstone nodded
I tried to get loose but nothing was happening I gave up as they shut and locked the door behind them
"Just like Spokane" Christian said
I still remember protecting mason's body, the way I felt when they put his body in the ground
"Mason!" I screamed till my throat was dry and sore
"Jesus Hathaway there's no need to yell so loud" he smiled at me
Christian was looking at me like I was crazy
"Oh he's thinking you have gone complete and utter mad, shall I prove him wrong?" Mason asked I nodded
Mason materialized on the spot and Christian yelled in shock
"Nice to see you again sparks" Mason laughed
"Yeah you too Mason good job by the way" Christian said
"Mason how are they doing at home?" I asked him,
Mason stood fading in and out when he was solid looking again he replied
"I can't get in the wards are up and they are done in very heavy magic, I think Adrian has helped with the wards"
Dimitri's POV
"We have to do something, we can't just sit here while they are out there" I yelled
Guardians were watching me to see if I'd snap but I was far from snapping I was annoyed
"We can't go out there blind, I know how you feel Belikov I've missed her too and now this" Janine said to me
I was about to yell again but Adrian came crashing in the door with Abe Mazur on his heels
"Rose said warehouse not far from here and Belikov she said to tell you, her room trunk, bed don't ask anymore I don't know what she meant" He was gasping for air, Janine helped him sit down but he shortly stood back up
"My magic is getting stronger maybe we can replace the wards with a little kick just in case words out that there's only one Hathaway woman here"
Adrian disappeared with a few guardians to round up the ward team
"I'll look at the local maps and see if I can find a warehouse near here" said Mr Mazur he sat down with Janine and they started looking at the maps
"Ma'am I'll be back in a moment I'm going to see what Rose wanted me to find" I said
Janine's head shot up then nodded "Bring back what you find" she snapped
I found Rose's apartment at the furthest edge of court, I found the door unlocked so I went in and made my way to her room. Her apartment was very basic, everything was plain. I found her room and it wasn't all white like the rest of the house, her room was red and black. At the foot of the bed I noticed the trunk; I knelt down and opened the lid
"Oh dear Roza you know me so well" I laughed there in the drunk was a pair of Colt Dragoon guns very western of her I picked them up with their holster and my fingers traced an engraving on the leather belt it read "Dearest Comrade" I choked out a laugh but inside I was trying to very hard not to cry. I dug deeper into Rose's weapons trunk and decided to try and get the whole thing back to Janine
I managed to get the huge trunk to the bottom of the steps
"Hey want a hand" Adrian asked, I looked to see he was standing by the door I nodded he came over and we picked up the trunk
"What the hell does she have in here?" he asked struggling to hold it up
"Weapons" I answered
We said nothing more until we got back to the war room.
"Here the trunk Rose was telling us about" I said as Adrian and I put the thing on the desk
Janine opened it and pulled out two USP Match pistols she inspected them to find them loaded and ready to go as she flipped them over she growled at Mr Mazur
"Give the hell kid!" she yelled "what the hell were you thinking, send her weapons"
Janine was angry it wasn't hard to tell the small but deadly woman was shaking
"That's not the only thing I sent to her" he said smugly
Mr Mazur pulled out an M4A1 assault rifle, a few stun grenades then finally he smiled as he pulled out a Mosin Nagant M91/30 sniper rifle my leapt as I knew this rifle very well
"Son, do you know who used this rifle?"
I could barley nod
"Vasily Zaitsev used on in the battle of Stalingrad in 1943 sir"
Mr Mazur smiled he loaded the rifle with the hint of murder in his eyes
"Now Janine tell me where to find my daughter"
Janine's face went from angry to sombre
"We still can't find her"
Everyone in the room was tense it was like all our hope had vanished, i blinked back the tears then a very familiar voice echoed through my head
"She's about 7 miles down the road, blacked out warehouse hurry"
