Note:
This is my take if Doom Slayer, after being betrayed by Samuel Hayden is sent into the world of Remnant. I'll be writing the epic battles between fights as always, character interaction, etc. This will be based on the show of RWBY and the rest of the volumes when the story progresses with more published chapters.
Perpetual: Never ending or changing.
Rated M for Mature Audiences, Ultra-violence, References to Heavy Metal Music and epic battles of ripping and tearing demons!

Familiar World I: Stranded In the Unknown
"In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Doom Slayer."
- Slayer's Testament I
"You've won - it's over. You stopped the invasion and closed the portal."
The sound of metal clanking on the floor draw his attention toward the bridge. Lumbering slowly towards him was a three-meter tall mechanoid, an acquaintance he hated with sheer contempt.
Samuel stood before him but keeping a safe distance. He gave a quick glance before returning his gaze back down to the Slayer.
"But it's come at a price - Argent, VEGA, this entire operation. You see, I've watched you work, come to understand your motivation." He continued talking. "You think the only way is to kill them all, leave nothing behind, and you may be right. But we can't just shut it all down. Without Argent Energy, it will be worse. I can't expect you to agree."
Right mechanical hand raised. Violently it shook, telepathically snatching the artifact from the Slayer's grasp.
"But with this we can continue our work."
The Slayer's eyes narrowed, staring intently at Samuel, rage swelling inside of him.
Samuel placed his mechanical hand over his chest. "I am not the villain of this story. I do what I do because there is no choice."
"Re-routing tether coordinates… Complete."
The computer system announced. The power supply to the energy field was fully restored and it began to dissipate. Samuel stood there proudly staring at the countdown on the teleporter.
"Our time is up." He looked down at the Slayer, seeing him still restrained, struggling to break free of his binds as he spoke. "I can't kill you - but I won't have you standing in our way," Samuel declared. Shooting out from the handle a bright crimson blade, pulsing with unrefined energies of Hell, decorated carelessly with the arcane symbols of Hell itself. "Until we see each other again."
Samuel Hayden turned away, starting forward to the bridge with the Crucible, leaving the trapped Slayer alone, chained to the containment field. As the tall mechanoid disappeared behind the doors, the Slayer's body was jerked up higher in the air before being enveloped in a blinding light. . .
The sound of bird's chirping, and insects buzzing, sounds the Doom Slayer had not heard in centuries awoke him. Shooting his eyes open he stared in wonder at the sight of blue sky, and fluffy white clouds. Getting to his feet the Slayer retrieved his shotgun from where it had fallen nearby. Surrounding him was a vast forest, whose massive trees swayed gently in the wind. The Doom Slayer felt an odd sense of familiarity, as if he'd been here once before.
He couldn't quite put his finger on why. Glancing around he saw no sign of demons, only birds and butterflies flitting about lazily. Owls hooted loudly overhead. As he walked among the lush trees, he began to notice more things around him, details like what animals they were. One thing stood out though, and that made its way to his mind with great force: flowers and plants growing in abundance. This place seemed strangely familiar to him. He knew he'd recognized something about this place, but the name escaped him again. For whatever reason as always.
He mentally commanded his armor to do a complete scan of the surrounding area. The scan revealed nothing interesting at first, carbon based life, oxygen nitrogen atmosphere, no radio, infrared, or ultrasonic communications detected, etc. But after scanning several dozen trees and bushes surrounding him, his armor suddenly registered a unique frequency, one which it recognised. It picked up that unique frequency just off the charts, so different from any known radiation within its range of detection, that it could be nothing short of extraterrestrial. And yet….
The Slayer's helmet turned towards a certain cluster of bushes, the leaves moving slightly, and his helmet's sensorium scanned the area surrounding the bush. His helmet quickly found the frequency of the strange energy, and focused on it. A red glow emanated from inside the bush, glowing bright and clear despite the dim light.
And then the Slayer sensed movement, something stirring beneath the foliage. Something else, larger than the foliage that surrounded the bush itself. A creature emerged out of the vegetation, walking towards him. The creature looked werewolf-like, the bone-like mask had red markings as well as the bone-like spikes protruding from its arms, back, and knees. Its hands and feet are also tipped with long, sharp, white claws.
The creature stalked towards him on all fours. Followed by a long low growl. The sound was incredibly intimidating. It sounded almost like an animal, except it didn't intimidate the Doom Slayer at all. Who stood perfectly still, waiting for the animal to make the next move.
He looked over his shoulder and saw another creature similar to the stalker behind him. The second beast looked like the first, save it was much bigger than the first. The beast also growled, as did the second. Then another creature stepped out from behind another bush, followed by another, then another. Each one resembled the first beast in appearance, except some were twice as large. They all sniffed the air violently, and their ears flopped about while they breathed heavily. The stench of a wolf pack filled the air. The Alpha Wolf growled.
The first beast who the Doom Slayer believed to be the alpha lifted its snout high in the air. Letting out a long howl, the pack responded in kind. The Alpha Wolf turned around to face its pack, barking loudly and menacingly. Its gaze settled upon the Slayer, and a growl rumbled from its chest. Slowly it started creeping toward the Doom Slayer, its movements slow and measured. Another one stepped forward and growled threateningly at the Doom Slayer. The Alpha Werewolf stepped over, nudging the Omega Wolf aside, and growled lowly at the Slayer as well.
But no matter how menacing the Alpha Wolf appeared, the Doom Slayer remained unimpressed. He merely glared back. The Alpha Wolf growled deeply, baring its fangs. Slowly it began moving forwards again. The other pack members began following suit, and soon they were approaching from all sides.
Slowly, the Alpha Wolf crept closer and its mouth widening into a feral grin. Drips of saliva flecking from its maw. At that point, the other pack members formed a circle around the Slayer. With a growl the Alpha Wolf shot forth and leapt into the air, aiming at the Doom Slayer's neck. But before the Alpha Wolf's jaws could close around the Slayer's neck, the Doom Slayer's fist punched through its head creating an explosion of black mist. It's body fell to the ground and all the pack members let out cries of shock and fear at seeing their leader slain.
The wolf that stood next to its slain leader was suddenly lifted in the air. It's air supply being cut off due to the Doom Slayer's right hand gauntlet tightly grasping its throat, the creature's clawed feet kicking wildly against the air. It slashed at the Slayer's visor with its claws. The Doom Slayer punched through the creature's right eye socket and exited through the skull. Black dust splattered everywhere, and the Alpha Wolf crumpled to the ground.
A brow arched on the Doom Slayer's forehead in surprise. What was that? Did it explode into dust? He shook his head trying to clear his thoughts. He wasn't quite sure. Best to save these questions for later; perhaps it would reveal itself when time is right.
MURDER MACHINE INC
- BY ANDREW HULSHULT
With a quick flash of light, the Doom Slayer conjured a super shotgun in thin air, and aimed it towards the closest pack member. Buck shells filled the chamber with a satisfying pop as the Doom Slayer fired multiple rounds into each target. Black dust sprayed in all directions. The others wolves howled and continued to circulate around the Doom Slayer.
He reloaded the shotgun again and pulled the trigger repeatedly. Each shot caused a blackened hole in a wolf's chest. Another wolf lunged at him, teeth snapping aggressively and its eyes blazing with hatred. But the Doom Slayer anticipated this attack. The Slayer sidestepped to avoid the bite, and rushed his knee upwards. Driving said knee into the wolf's chin, sending the creature toppling backwards thirty feet in the air. The wolf landed roughly on its back, grunting, and went limp.
Another wolf tried lunging at him from behind, but the Slayer jumped into the air, landing behind the wolf. He grabbed the wolf and threw it against a nearby tree. It crashed onto the bark hard and slumped to the ground lifeless, twitching occasionally.
All the remaining wolves advanced on him, growling angrily. One of the wolves stood on their hind legs and let out a long deep howl that resonated throughout the forest. When it died down the Slayer felt the earth tremble beneath his boots. He turned to his left and noticed a roar of shaking leaves that grew louder with every passing moment. Even the bushes trembled under the vibrations. Shooting out from all directions, a horde of wolves both big and small charged towards the Slayer. Their fur puffed up and the bloodlust radiated from them.
The Slayer scanned the approaching mass of wolves, opening up the bolt of his super shotgun while reaching for his pocket and shoved two buck shells into its ejectors. Snapping the gun back in place, his right hand wrapped around the grip, and fingers on his left hand tightly grip the wooden polymer. He turned to his left, scanning over the threats, he whipped, aiming at one wolf charging towards him and pulled the trigger. Powerful twin buckshots shot the wolf's head exploding into a black mist. The Slayer reloads another set of shells before whipping the weapon around to blow away another wolf that tried to jump at him with a second shot. Black dust exploded from the gaping, smoking hole in its chest as it fell to the ground.
Another wolf took the opportunity of the distraction by leaping at his back but the Slayer swung his other fist straight into its eye. It roared as it felt an indescribable pain explode through its whole face. It fell hard struggling on the ground but its struggle ceased as the Slayer bowled over with a bone shattering kick to its right hip, sending it flying in the air and out of the circle.
The Doom Slayer turned his head just in time to see another wolf charging towards him. Mouth fully agape. He rolled his body to face the giant canine, bringing both hands up and taking a step back, curling his fingers into a tight fist. Right as the wolf was inches from snapping its jaws, the Slayer sidestepped, and a loud spine-chilling crunching sound broke through the air.
The Slayer's right fist had struck, landing his effortless might straight into its victim's neck. The wolf's eyes shrunk as his windpipe was crushed, his forward momentum being canceled by the equal stopping force of the punch. Its body betrayed itself and swung itself free of the ground, its whole being shifting out from under the overwhelming power of said punch and hitting the ground with a thud.
The wolf jerked and twitched on the ground, as it tried desperately to get air through its broken windpipe, only for it to be filled with blood that now also poured freely from his mouth. He squirmed and jerked, as its eyes rolled into the back of its head. It lasted for a few seconds though until its body finally stopped squirming, life slowly withering away.
The Slayer rolled his body around. The super shotgun vanished from his hand in a flash of light and was replaced by a chain-gun. Facing said weaponry at his targets. Slowly the barrels began to spin to life, the barrels in triangular formation spun faster and faster every second. Once reaching top speed though, four of the wolves were struck by a swarm of powerful projectiles, mulching the one wolf, and mutilating the lead two to seven wolves. Steam billowed out of the barrels as the Slayer watched their bodies collapse to the earth's floor.
With each fall of his victims another wave of wolves came. Their numbers continuously increasing. More wolves kept running and rushing to the front line. Soon enough, the entire area in front of him became a black ocean of snarling, howling, and growling creatures. But the more the creatures ventured towards him, the more savage and brutal the Slayer became.
Bones breaking like chalk by the blow of his punches, thick missiles shot from the barrel of a rocket-launcher exploded its targets on impact, ripping apart their flesh and leaving pieces scattered about the ground. A blast of plasma ripped through the air, incinerating several wolves instantly. They were even torn apart from both their heads and torsos by the steel teeth blade of his blood-stained chainsaw.
And yet the horde did not stop coming. They kept charging relentlessly. Some even leaped over their fallen brethren as they ran. And still they came. As the number of corpses increased, so too did the number of enemies in the battle. Limbs were torn from carcasses, heads snapped clean from their shoulders. The screams of dying warriors never faltered, nor did the sound of bones breaking.
But the Doom Slayer didn't mind this at all. If anything, he was enjoying himself far too much right now. His heart soared as each opponent he destroyed was obliterated into a million black fragments of shadow. Every new opponent killed only fueled the raging fire burning within him. His rage was so great he couldn't help it. Not that he wanted to stop slaughtering. The Slayer was still internally in rage by Samuel Hayden's betrayal, which only fueled the raging flames within his soul. And with all these creatures before him, he had something to take his anger on. Something to vent his anger.
The Doom Slayer internally smirked. He had to admit that fighting all these creatures did bring back some memories. Some good ones, at least. The first instance where he fought his massive battle against the demons from hell. He remembered their flesh being torn to shreds, their blood splattering upon him. Their shrieks of agony, and their pleas of surrender. His own laughter echoed in his ears as he recalled his revenge against those demons who dared to wrong him and slaughter his family. He relished in his success and reveled in the rush of victory that washed over him afterwards. But that wasn't enough to blow away his flames of vengeance and hate.
Time to end this, he thought.
The Doom Slayer threw away the chain-gun back in his space-storage replacing it with a massive object that the wolves and all of the other pack members wide-eyed at. He smiled as he caressed the smooth metal of his beloved in his hands:
The BFG.
He takes careful aim waiting to get all his targets in perfect position, before taking the shot, a ball of crackling green energy shot from the end absorbing the kick it gave to the Slayer. As it passed into the group of wolves, the ball struck them with tendrils of green lightning causing them to roar in excruciating pain. And at that moment the green sphere exploded filling up their world around them. . .
"Vacation! Yay!"
Summer Rose cheered as she pumped a fist high above her head with joy. She spun her head around excitedly, letting out a squeal of delight at finally being able to go on a five day vacation after one year of slaying Grim. Watching her jumping around excitedly on the airship's steel floor were the three other teammates of Team STRQ.
Qrow Branwen sat with his arms crossed, smiling at Summer's behavior. His sister Raven Branwen sat next to him, arms crossed, rolling her eyes at her team leader's exuberance. Qrow and Summer's best friend, Taiyang Xiao, sat next to where Summer was sitting whilst also watching Summer hopping up and down with joy.
Raven sighed, "Summer, we get it. We're going on vacation. You can stop now," she replied in a flat voice.
Taiyang chuckled to himself and said, "Oh let her have this Raven. I mean, I can't even blame her. I've been needing a vacation for a long while." He looked at his team with a smile. "This whole team deserves a vacation together, you know?"
Qrow smirked at Taiyang's statement then asked, "What's wrong Tai? Got tired of teaching noisy kids back at Vale?"
Taiyang raised both his hands up in defense and denied, "Nah man, I love teaching kids. It's just... Well, my job has gotten me so exhausted lately that I haven't even had time to spend with Summer or you two like usual."
"I still don't see why I'm tagged along in this," Raven interjected, looking straight ahead towards the far wall of the airship. "Vacation is not in my wheelhouse. I prefer to be training than relaxing and having fun."
Summer pouted and said to Raven, "Aw come on Raven. We could use the chance to do something fun."
Raven shrugged indifferently and said nothing else but merely stared straight at the wall in boredom.
Qrow rolled his eyes at her response. "Don't worry about her, short-stack," he said, turning his head towards Summer. "So, what's our first to-do list once we arrive on our destination?"
Summer's team stared at her with expectant eyes. Summer smiled sheepishly and scratched her cheek, saying, "Hmmm...well, we could go sightseeing, check out the sights, maybe visit that cute cat cafe downtown..? Oh, or go on the beach! Yeah definitely the beach!"
"Ugh, the beach already," Raven moaned in disgust. "It's always the beach."
Taiyang laughed loudly at the comment from the other side of Raven. "Oh, come on Raven!" Taiyang protested. "You'll have fun too, won't you?"
"Yeah!" Summer agreed eagerly. "We can play volleyball together. Or go swimming. Oooh, or maybe we could…" Summer trailed off as she saw above Raven's head through a window, miles away a bright green light began to glow in the distance. Her smile faded when said glow was followed up with a mushroom cloud of dark smoke that covered the sky with an ominous shade of black.
Taiyang, Qrow, and Raven notice Summer's sudden change of expression and looked towards the direction Summer's gaze was pointed at. The four of them stared at the rising green fireball as it continued growing in size and intensity until eventually, it engulfed the entire sky completely. Even the airship passengers on board turned towards the fiery pillar and gasped in fright seeing the fireball. The sight sent chills down every single spine.
"Oh my gosh.." One passenger whispered, covering her mouth.
"Is that an explosion?" Another passenger asked.
"What's going on?" The passenger sitting next to them asked frantically.
Another passenger pointed up at the fiery cloud. "Look how big it is," she whispered. "There's a lot of smoke…..and there's flames!" She shuddered as the fear rose within her.
Summer watched the cloud of smoke in silence. Her face evident in a mask of concern. While also in wonderment of what could've caused such a large explosion. The fireball was so large that everyone could clearly see its outlines even from inside the aircraft. There was no doubt about it. That was indeed a large explosion that appeared out of nowhere.
The fireball stopped growing for a brief second, the cloud slowly dissipating leaving nothing behind. The smoke disappeared completely and the atmosphere calmed down. Everyone waited patiently for another minute, trying their hardest to see if the fireball would appear again. After a while, they all exhaled in relief when they heard nothing else happened.
The remaining passengers started talking amongst themselves, exchanging thoughts on what just occurred.
Raven's eyes never left where she saw the cloud earlier. Her eyes narrowed. "What was that?" Raven asked.
Qrow shook his head, "I have no idea." He looked at Taiyang as well. "We should be counting ourselves lucky that it wasn't anywhere near us."
Taiyang nodded agreeing with Qrow. "That's true. And, well, at least everyone's okay, right Summer?" He said, glancing at his friend who stood in front of the window, lost in deep thoughts. Summer didn't respond. The trio exchanged worried glances with each other when they saw the girl remain quiet and unmoving. "Summer?" Taiyang called out gently.
Summer started forward towards the stairs leading up, leaving Taiyang, Qrow, and Raven staring after her with a stupefied expression.
"Wait, Summer!" Taiyang called out to her teammate who continued to climb up the stairs. He hurriedly chased after her while Raven and Qrow followed close behind.
They followed Summer to the doors leading up into the airship's bridge, as she opened them up and entered the room beyond. Following behind her, they watched Summer stop close to the captain's side looking directly ahead with his hands gripping on the steering wheel.
"Hello," Summer greeted with a warm smile.
The captain looked up at her for a brief moment before returning his attention to the ship before speaking. "Oh, uh. Hello, Ms. Why are you up here?" He asked bewilderingly.
"You saw that cloud earlier?" Summer inquired.
The captain frowned and nodded. "Yep, it came out of nowhere. I don't know what it was but thank the brothers it wasn't near us," he replied. "But you need not to worry ma'am we're safe."
Though the Captain's words were lace with reassurance, Summer's worry didn't seem to have subsided. "Captain," she said seriously. "Can you land us to where that explosion originated?"
The captain snapped his head up at her. His eyes blazed with surprise and confusion. Summer's team were equally perplexed by her request.
The captain cleared his throat. "Ms. I'm not sure that's wise. I mean you saw the explosion that happened a few minutes ago." He explained.
Summer shook her head and gave him a stern look. "My team and I have had several experiences in these types of situations, Captain. We would be fine," she assured then smiled reassuringly at him. "Besides, we're huntresses afterall," she added with a laugh.
"Well…alright." He sighed, "But I'm not landing all the way over there. Just close enough where you and your team can reach it safely."
Summer nodded. Her eyes closed whilst her smile widened and a sparkle gleamed in them. "Thank you very much, Captain. And don't worry, my team and I can handle anything," she told him sincerely.
It seemed like a long walk to reach the outskirts of the recent explosion. The forest had been silent. There was a moment or two where they had frozen, thinking they had heard the wing beats of a Nevermore, but it faded as quickly as it came.
What was even more odd was that none of the animals were out. There weren't any animals scurrying about in the distance, nor any insects buzzing about or birds twittering. It was almost unnaturally quiet except for the wind blowing gently around them.
Taiyang felt uneasy with the stillness but tried to stay optimistic. Qrow and Raven kept their eyes locked on their surroundings with wary and cautious expressions. They didn't dare let their guard down. Raven scanned for phantoms everywhere, while Qrow and Taiyang maintained their vigilance on all sides. Their silhouettes were slow moving. Taiyang's head twitched to every little noise that he hears. Raven's hand gripped the hilt of omen tight as she had the tense posture of a warrior. Qrow's eyes remained trained forward, following Summer's trail.
The only person that seemed unaffected by the eerie stillness of the forest was Summer who was still in high spirits, smiling brightly. "This place seems so calm," she commented. Summer took one step after the other along with her teammates in stride as she looked around, taking everything in, enjoying everything despite the strange stillness.
"So it does, huh?" Taiyang answered in agreement. But something made him frown. Something nagged in his mind that bothered him ever since they first landed. The forest was silent. What's more, it seemed too quiet... Too empty. The birds weren't singing as loudly, and all the sounds of small woodland creatures weren't as loud either. It was unsettling. Not even the Grimm seemed present.
He glanced up into the clouds above which hung motionless, devoid of the usual flying Grimm activity that usually accompanied them. This place feels different somehow. As if it's deserted. He thought as his brow furrowed.
"We should be close now," Summer suddenly announced. "I must admit though, it's kinda strange that there aren't any sign of Grimm nearby," she remarked, puzzled. She didn't understand why the forest had gone silent but it was weird. The only four inhabitants seemed to be the four of them as they made their way past the trees, quickly approaching the clearing.
As soon as they stepped through the thicket of trees, they spotted it; a massive crater of ash surrounded by debris, dust, and burnt pieces of wood littered the area. The sky was grey and gloomy as well, threatening rain at any time. The fire had burned away nearly every last bit of vegetation in the vicinity. All that was left was blackened earth, broken trees, charred grass, and broken rocks scattered about.
"Wow," Taiyang breathed out. "Look like a bomb was dropped here." His gaze drifted to Summer who looked equally disturbed as he did.
Qrow looked around. "Guess we missed the party, guys." He mumbled sarcastically.
Raven walked around the edge of the crater, inspecting its depth carefully. Her eyes darted about, trying to pick out the faintest of tracks that could indicate that something might've happened here in the recent period of time. She couldn't make out any traces. She blinked as she noticed something sticking out from underneath a fallen branch. She knelt down and picked it up.
She held up what appeared to be a hind leg of a Beowolf. She examined it closely. The bone had a red tint around its body, indicating that this Beowolf may have died recently.
'The were Grimm here? What were they doing all the way out here?'
The question popped up in Raven's mind as she stared curiously at the limb in her hands. However, it turned into dust as soon as she touched it and disintegrated completely.
"Did you find anything Raven?" Taiyang called out. Raven rose slowly to her feet, her eyes flickered to her teammates.
"There were Grimm here. The way I see it, whoever did this already took care of them and is probably long gone," she replied.
Taiyang crossed his arms. "But why would the Grimm be here of all places? It's very rare to see Grimm around these parts," he pointed out.
Qrow stared down at the massive crater. "Who knows. Probably someone carrying a whole package of negative energy," he speculated.
"I doubt that, Qrow," Raven disagreed before glancing at her brother. "Who do you know that's carrying more negative energy than anyone else?" She asked rhetorically.
"If I knew, I would've sent you a letter that says, 'hey guys look! There's a guy who just happens to have loads of negative energy in his back pocket'," he joked. "Why don't you check his pockets instead?" He suggested suggestively.
"Shut up Qrow," Raven retorted, annoyed.
Taiyang opened his mouth to say something until something wet hit the bridge of his nose, prompting him to blink rapidly. He raised a hand to touch his nose, finding it soft and wet. He lifted his gaze up to the sky. The rain was coming straight towards them.
"Oh, looks like it's about to rain," Summer stated, eyeing the stormy weather. "Let's hurry and get back to the airship."
Her teammates nodded in response and set off through the woods. Taiyang led the way with Qrow and Raven behind him. Summer was about to catch up but then felt something hard from under her boot. Curious, she knelt down to examine it further. As she did, Summer saw something sticking out from under the earth's soil. Curious, she reached down and brushed some of the dirt away revealing…
Summer tilted her head, blinking her silver eyes in surprise. She squinted at the object and grabbed hold of it. Slowly she pulled it out from the soil, exposing a round band. The shoulders of the band were dark gray, while the band itself was black. Its surface was shiny and reflective, reflecting the light around. She brought it to her face to take a closer look. The bezel's main stone was bright blue. A faint symbol was engraved on it. Her eyebrows furrowed and she brought the item back up to inspect better. It was a symbol. A symbol that she had never seen before. Yet it made her curious.
It was then that Summer realized what she was holding in her fingers. She was holding a ring.
Summer slowly stood up. She gazed out towards the direction she remembered the others went ahead, making sure no one else was around. Satisfied, she placed the ring in her pocket and quickly followed after her teammates.
