What Were You The God of Again?

Thor: Ragnarok

It was a very desperate situation for the ponies of Asgard.

After discovering that their "queen Celestia" was really Trixie the goddess of Mischief in disguise, coming under the iron fisted rule of The returning princess of death, Sunset Shimmer, and being forced to flee their homes, they were now on the rainbow bridge, trapped on one side by Sunset's undead army and on the other side by her pet Fenris.

Luckily, Equus' strongest avenger was on hand to battle Fenris, allowing Princess Luna, the Bifrost Sentinel to lead the remaining warriors of Asgard in a brave battle against Sunset's army.

Helped by Lightning Dust, who was blasting at the zombified warriors from the ship which was stolen from Sakaar, and a few Sakaaran gladiators who joined the team, the battle wore on with the heroes unsure of when this battle for their lives would end.

Meanwhile...

Sunset Shimmer through a blade from her arms which was parried by Rainbow Dash, also known as Soar, the goddess of thunder.

Dash picked up her temporary weapon which was a staff and lunged forward at her sister, who simply blocked the strike, grabbed the staff and used it to throw Dash to a nearby balcony overlooking the rainbow bridge.

She then punched Dash in the stomach and looked at her with disgust.

"You are a weakling, sister!" she spoke with venom in her voice.

She then pulled another blade out of her hoof an slashed it across Dash's right eye causing the rainbow maned goddess to scream in pain.

Sunset scrunched up her face. "Now you look like mom".

On the bridge, there seemed to be no hope in sight for Luna and the Asgardians.

They were getting pushed back by Sunset's army with no way to escape.

Luna groaned wearily as she hacked down another undead warrior. Suddenly, a huge Ray of light beamed through the dust. Luna squinted as she saw what looked like a pair of curved golden horns.

"ASGAAAAAARD!!!! YOUR SAVIOUR, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE, IS HERE!!!!"

And just like that the tide of the battle began to change.

Out of the dust, it was revealed that Trixie was standing on a huge spaceship. Out of the spaceship jumped a bunch of strange looking aliens. One which looked like a pile of rocks stepped up to Luna. He spoke with a peculiar accent.

"Hey man. We're gonna get on that big spaceship and get out of here. Wanna come?"

Luna raised an eyebrow as Trixie walked up to her with a smile.

" Nice to see you, aunty" she said with a toothy grin.

Luna just smiled wryly and nodded her head as she faced off against another squadron of undead soldiers.

Dash was seriously getting her flank pounded by Sunset.

Sunset pushed her onto the balcony railing and forced her head to look at the battle on the bridge.

Rainbow Dash did not like what she was seeing at all.

The Asgardian fighters were being surrounded, and Fluttershy...no, Flutterhulk was being drowned by Fenris.

"You see, sister?" said Sunset with a dark smirk, "You can't wi-"

She suddenly noticed the huge spaceship arriving at the bridge. And her other adopted sister atop it.

The sight of Trixie arriving to save the day caused Rainbow to chuckle with delight.

Sunset Shimmer on the other hand was not enjoying the change in fortunes for the Asgardians.

She then sharply stabbed Dash in the back and turned her over.

"This is only a minor setback in my plans. I will destroy anyone who stands in my way."

She then began to choke Rainbow Dash causing the goddess of thunder to sputter wildly. She could've sworn she saw her mother in a field.

"You see", said Sunset as she choked the life out of Dash,"I'm not a queen or a monster."

Rainbow saw another glimpse of Celestia standing in a field.

"I'm the goddess of death!"

Another glimpse.

"What were you the goddess of again?!"

Everything went white.

Then Dash saw herself kneeling before her mother in a huge expansive field. The only thing she could see for miles was grass and sky.

Celestia looked at Rainbow with a smile.

" My daughter, what are you doing here. You should be fighting to save Asgard."

Rainbow looked at her mother with her one eye filling with tears.

"That's the thing, mother! I can't fight anymore."

Celestia cocked her head to one side.

"Why is that?"

"Have you seen Asgard!? It's a mess! We can't save the place anymore! We don't have a home anymore!"

Celestia just closed her eyes and chuckled. She then opened them again and looked at the sky.

"Asgard is not a place. It never was and never will be."

Rainbow looked at her with a confused stare.

"Rainbow Dash, Asgard is where our friends and family stand."

Rainbow Dash looked at the grass before looking back at her mother.

She could see what her mother was saying. But it didn't stop the fact that Sunset Shimmer would still be able to kill her with one blow.

Rainbow still had doubts.

"But I can't defeat her. She destroyed my hammer."

Celestia chuckled once again.

"Are you Rainbow Dash, the goddess of hammers?"

No.

She wasn't.

But still...

"I'm not strong enough, mother."

Celestia walked up to her and placed a good on her shoulder.

"No, Rainbow Dash. You're stronger."

And with that, everything faded to white once more.

Sunset was still squeezing Dash's throat when she suddenly felt a huge surge of power flowing from Dash.

Dash's eyes turned white as she summoned a huge lightning bolt which struck Sunset and sent flying to the floor below.

Princess Luna looked at the sky and saw the thunderstorm brewing from the castle.

Trixie looked up at the approaching ball of lightning which seemed to attract all the undead soldiers towards itself.

Trixie smiled. Showoff.

Rainbow Dash aimed for the undead warriors who were gathering in a huge group.

With a loud roar, she punched straight through them and landed on the rainbow bridge.

Sparks danced across her body as her eyes glowed white with lightning.

She growled as she charged towards another group of undead soldiers.

This was her home and she was going to fight for it until her last breath.

So...not a great piece of writing for my debut. I know this is rushed but I would still appreciate constructive criticism. You can be as blunt as you like. TBH I actually need it. Well, this is MLP Bronyfan signing out for now..or whatever. Byeeeee...
