Prologue - The invasion has begun
=place: Sernpidal; 2194; 25 ABY=
The Peregrine-class ship began to take off from the airfield. Whenever the crew, consisting of two Terrans, Dominik and Dong. As soon as word came that the moon was about to fall on the planet, they took as many people as they could and joined the refugee flotilla.
And now they could only watch as the falling moon destroyed the planet. Some children could be heard crying from the shipping container.
"I'll see how the refugees are doing." - Dominika said, leaving the helm to Dong, who just nodded. Apparently, due to the shock of destroying an entire planet before his eyes, he couldn't speak, but the survival instincts honed from working in the Outer Rim kept him on course.
Meanwhile, Dominika went down, inside the container, where there were 12 people. Since this container was the cargo version, it didn't have much space.
"Do you need anything?" - Dominika asked, looking at the gathered beings. There were 5 humans, 3 Twilek, 3 Ithorians, and a Duros. Dominika didn't even try to ask if everything was okay.
"It's cold here." - said the little girl.
Dominika turned up the thermostat to 15 degrees Celsius. That should be enough.
"Dominica!" - Dong shouted from above. He must have recovered from the shock - "We're about to jump to Dubrillion with the rest of the refugees. Take the security footage and send it to your father. We've detected several unknown ships in orbit and they're headed our way. We could really use the support of the Alliance Navy."
"I'm on it now!" - Dominika shouted back, then turned to the refugees - "The food and drink are on that cabinet over there. If you're hungry and thirsty, don't be shy. If you need anything, we'll be in the cockpit."
=location: station P1-Mayto=
24 New Republic and System Alliance fighters were stationed at the base. The soldiers and staff had been stationed here together for six months and were pretty well coordinated.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded in the base - "Attention. All to battle stations. These are not exercises. The planet Sernpidal was destroyed by a race known as the Yuuzang Vong. They pursue refugees to the planet Dubrillion, which will most likely be the next target. All machine pilots. I repeat."
The loudspeaker continued to broadcast the same message as the alarms blared. The pilots, after a moment of shock, started running to their fighters. The base had 12 X-wings and 12 Tridents. All were prepared for battle by engineers who made adjustments in response to Vongach data that the System Alliance had gathered through their contacts in the Unknown Regions.
Within 15 minutes, the fighters were ready and quickly prepared for the hyperspace jump. Their target is Dubrillion.
=location: unknown location, Galactic Defense Initiative HQ=
As soon as word of the Yuuzang Vong's appearance came to light, Galactic Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo, the military commander-in-chief of GDI, who had been inspecting the base at the time of the news of the attack, immediately ordered the activation of all GDI protocols and sent a message to any available leaders.
As Thrawn sat quietly in the command room with a map of the galaxy in front of him, an officer approached him and said - "Sir, we have intel from P1-Dalonbian station regarding the situation in their sector, and information from the Eredar race. Their defense fleet was destroyed by an unknown enemy, presumably the Vong. The Nikarduns have sent a message that they have lost contact with three colonies. Station P3-Ruponia is reporting a battle in their sector between Turian ships and forces identified as Vong."
"Judging from this information, our enemies must have forced their way through the galactic north and west." - Thrawn said - "Worrisome. For the last few years, we've been getting information about movements on the outskirts of the entire galaxy, and now only from these areas."
"So these attacks are a distraction?" - the officer asked.
"I do not think so." - Thrawn replied - "The data so far suggests a fanatical approach to combat rather than subtle maneuvers, feints, and distractions. It's probably a force that couldn't wait any longer for some reason. I currently have no data so it can vary from wanting to prove myself in conquest to or have so damaged equipment, that they have to attack now or it will start to fall apart. Anyway, that's good news for us."
"And is it because?"
"These forces have attacked separately from the main body of the enemy fleet. As a result, they can be surrounded and destroyed before we face the main assault. The plan for any attacks will need to be fine-tuned, but for now, I'll leave that to the individual unit commanders. Admiral Hackett and SSV Milda with the rest of the SA Fifth Fleet should move to attack the Vong forces in the northern sectors of the Republic. Keep Citadel forces focused on fighting in Turian territory. The Nikarduns should be supported by forces under command of Ina'ganet'nuruodo. Let him take his entire fleet. As for the Eredars, let the Mimbari send them reinforcements. The combination of Draenei's planetary shield and powerful ground forces should hold them for a few days, maybe a week. Then have them evacuate as many as they can. The remaining GDI forces are to continue mobilizations and double border patrols. That's all. You may leave, but continue to keep me informed of any updates."
"Sir, yes, sir." - replied the soldier and left to carry out the order. Thrawn, on the other hand, began to think about whether anti-Vong tactics would work. For the past six years, they've been collecting data from all possible sources and have found potential weaknesses in their technology, but only the fight will be able to test that. It's best to check this as soon as possible before large-scale fights happen and such clashes become small skirmishes.
The war will be long and bloodier than the last few decades combined, but with a united galaxy, victory will be assured. As long as the galaxy stays united, of course.

P-series stations
Relatively small stations are set up on asteroids for a quick anti-piracy response. Founded in a joint initiative of System Alliance-New Republic, over time expanded to many other Unknown Regions countries. Each station is a small, self-contained base capable of supporting from a few fighters to a few corvettes, possibly frigates (Anaxes War College).
Combined squadrons of many different species are often stationed at stations to improve cooperation and cooperation. However, for logistical reasons, it's usually just 2 different countries. Stations are also mostly in secret locations to act as a bogeyman for pirates who can never be sure when and where they might be attacked.
The naming system is the letter P followed by a number, followed by the name of the region it is in. The number is the order in which the stations were built.
The initiative to build these stations has gained particular traction in the Outer Rim, which is most vulnerable to these attacks, with an overall positive reception in the rest of the galaxy. The exceptions are the Core and other capital areas in the Republic and other nations, as they are already adequately defended against pirates and see this initiative as a waste of money that could be spent on infrastructure. Although this approach is also state-dependent.
There are currently 2,493 stations of this type across the galaxy.
Top secret:
P series stations are one of a series of anti-Yuuzahn Vong plans. In the event of war, they provide bridgeheads for rapid reaction forces, a line of logistics bases, bases for attacking the rear, and strengthen the cooperation of various armed forces or evacuation points.
SA civilian ships preparing for Yuuzahn Vong invasion.
Knowing about the upcoming Yuuzahn Vong invasion, the System Alliance decided to take a few pages from the Rebel Alliance military book and have plans to convert civilian ships to military ships if needed. While such plans existed before against the Empire, they were rejected for a number of reasons, from the failure to spread the technology across the new nation, to the lack of logistical support for such fleets, and the subsequent lack of threat from the Empire's remnants.
This generation of spaceships was supposed to be decently armed beforehand due to the future investment sites of SA, Outer Rim, so it was very easy to convince various companies to the idea.
Peregrine-class:
Dimensions: length - 25 m, width - 24 m, height - 4.6 m (without container), 10 m (with container);
Defensive Abilities: Energy Shields; 2 GARDIAN turrets;
Offensive Abilities: Thanix Cannon (military variant);
Crew: 2 + 20 passengers (with container [various variants]), 3 (with THANIX gun);
Created as a light transport ship available to almost everyone. Various containers can be attached to its base to transport people, products, water, and other things. Thanks to its speed and relative endurance, especially in the atmosphere, it has become very popular, especially among those who work in Unknown Regions or the Outer Rim.
The military variant replaces the container with the Thanix gun and serves as a bomber or light attack vehicle. Before the Yuuzahn Vong Invasion, the military did not have a single such vehicle, but as soon as the government received information about the beginning of the invasion, they immediately ordered all available civilian versions to be converted to military variants. Potentially, up to 100,000 such vehicles may be converted.
