Prologue:
A sudden, shining light appeared above Earth and landed in the middle of the rubble that was once City Z, sending up clouds of dust. The dust cleared, and Saitama looked up, mildly surprised, and Garou lay on the ground, his Mode: Saitama shattered.
"This is right where we were before… Were you actually aiming for this place?"
The Caped Baldy lifted his fist from Garou's face, who coughed up blood. "What's wrong," Garou asked. "Do it. Why aren't you killing me?"
Saitama thought for a second, looking at Garou's injured body. "Compared to people like you with your quick costume changes or King, I really hate that I'm not cut out for this." The Caped Baldy paused. "But it's because I'm a hero. It was also that kid's final request that I stop you without killing you."
"Final request?" Garou turned his head and spotted Tareo, lying face down in a pool of his own blood. He stared at the body in horror.
"Ta-" Garou screamed. He picked himself up and ran in the opposite direction of Tareo, still screaming in horror at what he'd done.
"Where are you going?" Saitama asked, pointing at Tareo. "The kid's over there."
"It's my fault… I was too close to you!" Tears ran down Garou's face. "I was…"
He tripped over a rock and skidded across the ground, out of breath. "Tareo. That's right… I'm that ominous future."
Saitama looked down at Garou. "You've been acting really weird since we fell from the sky. Are you sure some weirdo didn't do something to you?"
"If they did… It's because my spirit was too weak… It's laughable," Garou continued. "If I can't beat you, then I can't be Absolute Evil. And then the hero that takes me down says 'I'm not cut out to be a hero'? You could at least act like one. If you had killed me with a smug look on your face, waving around your crazy idea of justice… I could've gone out like true evil. Now the one I wanted to save by changing the world… because of me he's…"
"You wanted to save him?" Saitama asked. "You weren't just clinging to him for support?"
"Clinging? Me? What would you kno-" Garou stopped when he saw Saitama, holding Genos's core. Is that what you were doing too? Garou realized. There's no way a person with that kind of power can keep in their right mind.
"What are you going to do now?" Saitama asked.
Garou sat down. "I have a favor to ask."
Saitama listened to his favor, and spoke. "You want me to copy your copycat martial arts?"
"Watch your mouth," Garou said. "You should be able to copy my techniques and surpass them even further. I'm going to pass on to you my most powerful ultimate technique of My Fist, as I envision it, which I haven't been able to pull off, even after stealing God's power. You should be grateful."
Is that how you ask someone a favor? Saitama thought. "I don't really care, honestly. What will that even accomplish now, anyway?"
"Try it and find out!" Garou snapped. Saitama paused.
"Fine, alright. Guess I'll take whatever I can get, then."
"Jumping straight into learning the Ultimate Martial Arts, that's fitting for a guy like you!" Garou assumed his stance. "Now, watch closely."
Saitama copied Garou's motion, whose chest seemed to glow brilliantly, like a galaxy. "If anyone can master the power of God without taking God's hand, it's you," Garou said.
"Silence. I am taking them back," said God. Garou's body, starting from the legs, began turning white, and dust started to pick up around them. Saitama stuck his tongue out. Salt?
"Hey-"
"Concentrate!" Garou interrupted. Saitama composed himself, imagining his own inner universe. Garou's cosmic rays generated pairs of particles and antiparticles within both of their bodies, and when they moved in opposite directions, imitating each other within Saitama's body…
"Saitama, get going and defeat it!" Saitama was suddenly launched backwards. "Whoa,,,?"
"You of all people can do it," Garou said. "What you've got to defeat is… That ominous future!"
Garou's entire body turned into salt just then, and crumbled away. Meanwhile, Saitama started traveling backwards in time.
"I can't believe this. Your martial arts are awesome, Garou!" Saitama then saw Garou, standing above all of the other heroes.
"I am that ominous future. Disaster level God."
"Ah… So I just do this?" Saitama reached out towards it, grabbing on to the thin barrier between the space he was in and the timeline he was trying to get to. He started pulling himself out, but each movement crumbled his handhold on the breach, and he was sucked back in.
In the timeline Saitama had breached, everyone saw a gaping hole in the air, the rip steadily growing larger, pulling everyone towards it. They were thrusted into the void, and fell backwards into the abyss.
Hospital in Manhattan:
Sally Jackson screamed as she pushed, gripping the bed sheets tightly as she gave birth. As soon as the baby came out, she relaxed, panting with exhaustion. The nurse smiled as she gave the newborn baby to her.
Sally smiled as she held her child, brushing the tufts of ebony hair, and watched as the baby opened his eyes for the first time and cried, allowing air into his lungs. She held the baby close to her chest.
"I'll name you Perseus." Sally thought for a moment. "Percy."
And for a moment, Percy's eyes flashed brown, then back to their sea green color.
