Chapter 1:
As Bette finally let Tina up from their kiss, they both had tears running down their faces. Tina was the first to talk " I can't believe you ran down in the middle of LA traffic" she said half laughing and half in disbelief. Better beamed. "Yes, me either but I just knew I needed to get to you before the airport." Tina replied, "Well I am glad you did" They kissed again, deep and passionate. Bette said, "I've missed this." Tina smiled, never breaking eye contact. "Me too." They both sat in silence, holding hands sitting so close, neither moving.
Tina started sobbing, Bette immediately wrapped her arms around her. "Your speech…I have … waited so long for you to say that…." She said between sobs. Bette felt a lump in her throat, "I should have said it long ago. When you left…" Tina gave a small kiss in response, each knowing if they started kissing again, they wouldn't be able to control themselves.
"What now?" Tina asked, trying to distract herself from Bette's beaming cocky smile. "We go to Toronto; you sort out what you need and I'll go shopping tomorrow for some things." Bette answered; looking directly at Tina with a slight smirk, "… I can't wait to see your bedroom…" Tina chuckled. " I bet you can't."
Angie was happy when she saw Bette get in Tina's, and laughed when Bette drove in. Shane "she couldn't wait for another second… good on her." In reaction, with a big smile on her face. Alice replied, "about time she went after her." She had moved to the front seat. Angie laughed, she was glad they were back together, although could have done no walking in on them. She thought.
They drove in silence each lost in their own thoughts of Bette and Tina's history. Angie broke the silence "I hope it works out this time." Although she was happy, she saw how the separation affected each of her Mom's, and now that she was older, she could understand the pain a little better.
Alice replied, "They will, I mean Bette was running, in heels for fuck sake!" "Alice!" Shane said, half laughing but also agreeing. "I think they will, it'll take time, but this time feels different." Tess nodded in agreement. "Well, I have never seen Bette Porter run after any woman, there's something special with Tina."
Angie nodded in agreement, she loved her Moms and hoped they would work it out, even if meant they moved to Vancouver. The rest of the trip passed in laughter as the girls told stories about what they had done in the name of love. Angie dropped them home, and Shane promised to check on Angie tomorrow. "I'm fine, really Shane." "Yeah, Yeah I know." Shane gave Angie a warm smile. They had a unique bond. Shane loved her more than she thought she could love anyone.
Angie walked into her home and looked left, remembering her Mom's together and although they were both shocked they looked happy. "A movie, really Mom," she said to herself. She chuckled to herself, she got into bed, happy that her Mom's were happy, it was something she had wanted for a long time.
