[Tomobiki: Japan]
Currently it was just another day in the country of Japan, or more specifically in the town of Tomobiki. The citizens of the town we're living there normal day doing things you would expect them to do like going to work, coming back from work, going to pachinko parlors, going to karaoke, etc.
What many didn't know was that a famous superhero was currently in Tomobiki, and he wasn't there on any social visit as he was there strictly on business!
The superhero went by many names as he was known as the world's greatest detective, the caped crusader, The Dark Knight of Gotham!
But to his allies and enemies he is simply known as Batman!
Or batsy as his arch enemy likes to call him...
Currently Batman was inside of a rented house that he had rented under a shell corporation owned by his alter ego in order to work out of it as his main base of operations while he was in Japan as he was far away from the Batcave.
The house had already been fitted with secret rooms and booby traps to keep his secret safe as just behind the main wall of what acted as his temporary bedroom was filled with all kinds of gadgets like batarangs, brass knuckles, nunchucks, non-lethal swords, batons, flash bombs, smoke grenades, smoke pellets, stinger grenades, grappling hooks, etc.
As Batman was getting to work he suddenly realized that he was out of groceries so he quickly changed out of his Batman outfit into his civilian outfit which consisted of a Taylor Made expensive Italian food and tie, with matching Italian black shoes.
After changing into his civilian outfit he became his alter ego/famous Playboy/owner of Wayne Enterprises Bruce Wayne. Once Bruce made sure that no one saw him that he exited his residence and began making his way to a nearby convenience store to get some needed supplies as although he was one of the best known superheroes in the world in secret, he was still only human and he needed sustenance.
'I haven't been in Japan in years and the only reason I'm here is on a case as one of the most dangerous criminals I've ever run into has been spotted in this town and I have a gut feeling that they're up to no good.'thought Bruce to himself as he made his way into the convenience store.
As he was browsing the aisles he couldn't get the thought of someone was watching him out of his head as being a vigilante for years and made him quite paranoid and he could immediately tell when someone was looking at him even if they were trying their best not to appear to be looking at him.
As Bruce finished his shopping he quickly paid at the counter and quickly exited, where he was stopped by a monk staff. The billionaire look down and saw a short old age monk staring at him.
"You are surrounded with darkness."said the old Monk.
"I'm sorry?"said Bruce says he was trying to understand what the monk was talking about.
"Bad misfortune follows you everywhere."said the Monk.
"I guess."said Bruce says he knew that was the understatement of the century, as having good fortune wouldn't have resulted in the death of his beloved parents!
The very thing that sent him down the path to be coming Batman!
"I'm Sakuranbou, but most people call me Cherry."said the monk as he identified himself.
"I'm sorry but I'm quite busy so I really need to be going."said Bruce as he excused himself.
"But if I don't perform an exorcism the unlucky spirits will continue the follow you!"said Cherry as he ran after Bruce.
But Bruce merely ducked into a nearby alley, and by the time Cherry arrived he saw that he was no longer there.
"How does someone in a suit move so fast?"questions the old monk as he quickly began looking around for any sign of Bruce.
Bruce on the other hand had already gotten behind cherry and began making his way home without any concern of the crazy monk following him.
That is went out of nowhere a bunch of black cars pulled up and Japanese men in business suits quickly exited their vehicles and surrounded the secret vigilante. Bruce was about to raise his fists to take them on when out of nowhere a familiar face appeared among the swarm of people who appeared to be Japanese military based on their discipline, likely members of the security staff of the DIET.
"Oh thank goodness as it has not been easy tracking you down."said Justice League liaison Amanda Waller, a frenemy of Bruce Wayne / Batman.
"What do you want, Waller?"questions Bruce he wondered what his frenemy wanted.
"Haven't you've been watching the news. The Earth is being invaded by aliens."said Amanda Waller, as Bruce looked up into the sky and saw strange looking yellow tiger striped ships flying through the sky.
"Ha... again!"said Bruce, as this wasn't the first time that an alien race has invaded the Earth.
"Yes, but apparently there is something that will prevent needless bloodshed on both sides, and I'm afraid it involves you and by you I mean... the normal you."said Amanda Waller, as Bruce picked up that she was implying that Batman would not be needed for this case!
"And how exactly can I help?"questions Bruce has he wondered what could he possibly do as himself and not his alter ego.
"Let's walk and talk."said Amanda Waller as the security detail began to follow her and Bruce around as they made their way back to his temporary house.
"So this alien race known as the Oni have decided to invade Earth."said Amanda Waller as she summarized what was happening.
"I pretty much figured that out based on the tiger stripe ships. But I have never heard of an alien race called the Oni."said Bruce, as he thought that Oni were only demons in Japanese lore.
"Apparently you forgotten that a lot of myths are based on aliens."pointed out Amanda Waller.
"Touche."admitted Bruce.
"Anyway I've already spoken with your green acquaintance and he told me that they Oni are just a bunch of troublemakers and not real conquerors as they like to play games and all that, and that's exactly the case with this situation."said Amanda Waller as they turned a street.
"Explain."inquired Bruce.
"Well apparently the Oni like to play this game of tag with any world they decide to conquer. And that game of tag will decide the fate of the planet."said Amanda Waller, as they arrive in front of Bruce's house that appeared to be taken over by Japanese military and people who appear to be security detail as they were wearing suits and talking into their headpieces.
"We didn't enter the rooms that have your more personal property as we knew the damage we would cause ourselves if we did that."said Amanda Waller, basically telling Bruce that none of them know that his house is also an underground safe house for the Batman.
"So, who's in my house?"inquired Bruce, as he had a feeling they were about to have a meeting with someone.
"The leader of the Oni."said Amanda Waller as they made their way into the house.
"Why me?"said Bruce as they answered the house.
"The leader of the Oni will explain."said Amanda Waller as they entered what appear to be the meeting room of the house.
And they're Bruce saw a large man wearing a one-piece yellow outfit with tiger stripes, but he clearly wasn't human as he had horns on his head and razor sharp teeth.
"Welcome Bruce Wayne."said the Oni with a smile.
"And who are you?"inquired Bruce as he tried to use his "civilian" persona.
"Just call me Mr Invader as that's what everyone calls me."said the leader of the Oni Invaders politely.
'He seems to be civil. Now why exactly does the game of tag have to do with me?'wondered Bruce as he and Amanda Waller both sat down traditional seiza style.
"So, why did you send so many people after me?"asked Bruce says he looked at the Japanese official who appeared to be in charge as he was sitting next to Mr Invader.
"I must apologize on our country's behalf Mr Wayne. But our prime minister personally got a call from the president of the United States to look for you as you were not found anywhere in your state in Gotham City. That is when Miss Waller here told us about your stay here in Japan for your vacation."said the Japanese government official, who appeared to be very nervous that some of the most powerful people on the planet and an Invader were in the room.
"So what does this alien invasion have to do with me?"asked Bruce says he tried his best not to release his Batman persona.
"Allow me to explain. We want to have a showdown with a random human our computer picked, and that is you."explained Mr Invader, basically telling Bruce that this was a complete coincidence and that he had been chosen by their computer at random.
"I see.., so I'm the one the computer picked out."said Bruce even though internally he was wondering what kind of system was that to choose a random human.
"We want to have a competition and if we happen to lose we'll pack up and go home."added Mr invader.
'So this is the reason everyone got involved as they know any war between these aliens will cause needless bloodshed so they want to take up this Challenge and avoid all that...' thought Bruce as he picked up on what was going on.
"Please take the Oni by the horns as we're challenging you to a good old game of tag."said Mr Invader.. and then there was a moment of silence in the room.
"What?"said Bruce, as he looked over at Waller who said nothing.
"So you want me to play tag with you?"said Bruce, before a bolt of lightning struck the ground near the room, causing the doors they led to the backyard to come off their hinges.
"Hey, we have been waiting for you! And to your question Mr Wayne, you will not be competing against me but against my daughter."said Mr Invader as Bruce noticed that the lightning began to take the shape of a girl.
And when the lightning cleared it was revealed to be a beautiful girl who look like she was a teenager. But she was clearly not human that she had pointed ears, sort of glowing blue hair, Oni horns, and was wearing an Oni themed bikini with matching knee high boots.
"So... I take it this guy is my opponent."said Mr Invader's daughter."Hi, my name is Lum."
"Hello."simply said Bruce.
"Is is my beautiful daughter. Anyway, let me explain the rules of the game. You have ten days to beat her by grabbing her horns."said Mr Invader by pointing at his own horns.
"So I have to grab her horns to win the game."said Bruce as he understood the rules.
"Hey you're not going to get your hands on me that easily."said Lum with confidence.
"Mr Wayne, the fate of the earth rests on your hands as neither side wants needless bloodshed."said the Japanese government official, knowing that any battle between Earth, the Justice League, and these Invaders will cause needless casualties on both sides.
"I understand."said Bruce as he looked over at Lum, and he could immediately tell that she was confident that she would win.
"I'll do it."said Bruce.
"Wahoo, now we're talking! The game will start tomorrow. A big show down with Earth on the line!"said Mr Invader with a smile on his face.
"It's going to be an absolute blast!"said Mr Invader, before he and his daughter teleported out of the room.
"I hope you know what that stake, Mr Wayne."said the Japanese government official.
"I do, now get out of my house."said Bruce, knowing that he needed to prepare for what was to come.
"Of course sir, we're sorry for intruding on your household."said the Japanese government official before he instructed everyone to leave with a wave of the hand.
As everyone was leaving Amanda Waller looked at Bruce one last time.
"Last thing we want is needless casualties and destruction so please put whatever you issues or cases you have in the back and focus on this right now."said Amanda Waller, knowing that an invasion of Earth trumped any investigation that Bruce/Batman was conducting.
"I know."said Bruce as Amanda Waller left his house.
"Great... I'm only here in Japan on business and already I get sidetracked. Fine... if a simple game of tag will stop a needless war then I'm more than up for it, otherwise I will never hear the end of it from the others."said Bruce, knowing that the other members of the Justice League will never let him hear the end of it if he decides to not play this game of tag.
Now all he needed to do was prepare for tomorrow!"
Hello everyone, PrimusPilus here to give his two cents.
Yeah, I decided to do this crossover and I don't regret it one bit as I always wanted to do this as soon as I saw the Urusei Yatsura anime.
I especially like the revival and I hope to see every episode.. but that's besides the point!
I really want to finish the story and see how far I can get with it as Bruce gets caught in the shenanigans that seems to affect all of Tomobiki!
Will he be able to handle it?
