Hey guys, Hope everyone is having a fantastic time. This will be the first fanfic I have ever written in my life and I am very excited about it. After reading fanfic for the past 2 years I thought I'd give it a go as well with one of my favoured stories: Avatar The Last Air Bender

I am pretty much an amateur when it comes to writing so you will have to bear with me for the foreseeable future. Although I think I speak English decently enough it is not my first language and that might make it harder for me to convey what I mean to your average speaker and reader.

Alright enough with the intro, this story will be a sort of self insert story into the Avatar TLA universe. My OC that I have created is called Kai and he will be thrown in the this universe( the name is actually a name of my friend from irl ) and he will start of as very weak but eventually will become a very powerful bender almost as powerful as Amon from the LOK series. You might have guessed it but he will be a water bender. I have never seen a godlike water bender explored that much in fanfic and I can already see some people clicking off because he is not a fire bender.

I will try my best to keep the rest of you interested in this character. At the moment I am thinking he will eventually be paired with Azula as I love her character and wished the comics could be animated so that we could see more of her redemption arc.( not that she got redeemed that much in the comics anyway :') )

That will be more towards the middle of the story. I want my character to be single for a bit in the story. That might change as I keep writing who knows.

I will say this although it is very clear.

Alright without any further ado let's get started.

Location: Unknown

Kai POV:

Peace could be the right word to describe what I was feeling right now. My eyes were closed, yet I was vaguely aware of what was going on around me although I didn't know how.

I knew that I was encapsulated by mostly darkness as if I was floating in space a like an astronaut with no purpose left. Surely if I was in space I would feel some pain I thought idly. Although it was dark I knew that there white dots sprinkled across this space like stars, that were perhaps light-years away.

I opened my eyes and sure enough it was exactly as I was describing it. Except for the fact that there was an entity that was standing right in front of me. I said entity because It didn't look like anything I had seen before. It seemed to posses the body of a human male but he was completely white, very much contrasting with the background that we found ourselves in. he had two slits for eyes and they were both black making him look very intimidating.

And suddenly it spoke to me," So... you finally decided to open your eyes." it said in a cool, smooth voice. It was a man's voice and it sounded almost amused.

I was a bit startled at him suddenly speaking," Uhh... where exactly am I ? and who would you be?" I asked.

He looked at me and chuckled." I am many things." He said mysteriously." But to you people I guess I would be a god. As to where you are, This place is my domain but enough about what I am, I want to know more about you my friend." he said curiously.

I didn't exactly know what this being wanted from me but I started telling him about myself anyways," My name is Kai and I am 17 years old. I live in England alone as my parents are both dead and I am an only child. My gran looked after me most my life but she passed away recently." I said sadly.

He kept looking at me and I felt a slight chill run down my spine as if he was looking at my soul.

He started speaking again." And do you remember how you came here?" he asked.

I shook my head,"Last thing I remember was falling asleep on my bed with my switch in hand playing a Pokémon game." I said wondering if this being knew what Pokémon games were.

He smiled," Ah games, truly one of humanities best inventions towards entertainment. But that's enough about other stuff. I would assume you are wondering why I summoned you here." he said.

I was curious by nature but quite intimidated by this being so I hadn't asked that but it was an obvious question that was floating in my mind. "What did this guy want from me?" I thought.

As if he was reading my mind,( well let's be real he probably was) He said" I need your help. As a god my job is to make sure that balance is maintained in my universes. Yes you heard it right I look after many universes." he said looking at my shocked face.

I just kept looking at him eagerly listening to what he was saying so he continued:

"Out of these universes some of them you have never even heard of. But a couple of them you have, and know them very well yourself."

"Know them myself what do you mean?" I said a bit stunned.

He kept on going." This universe Im talking about is known in your world as Avatar The Last Air Bender and it is a real universe. A universe that needs your help."

I nearly shat myself. That was one of my favorite stories in the entire world! I had probably watched the show 15 different times and read most of the comics at least twice. And it needed my help?! "How is that even possible?" I thought.

But then I looked at who I was talking to. A supposed god, at this point perhaps anything was possible.

He noticed I was quite surprised and excited and he continued:" Now when I say balance I cannot tell you what that means. Even I don't know exactly what needs to be done it that world for it to "achieve balance" but my instincts tell me that your presence in that world is what it requires. So as it is I will pluck you from your world and put you in that one." he said smoothly.

It took me a bit to fully understand what the god meant. I had to leave my world behind. While I wasn't the happiest in this world as I didn't have any friends, the creature comforts that were available to me were also very enjoyable such as my monster of a PC and the convenience of living in the 2023 with all the modern technologies and standards that I was used to living. But... quite frankly I was a nobody in my world. An insignificant little piece to society. Perhaps I could be someone in this new world? A fresh start if you will.

The god responded to my thoughts:" I wont be taking you without your permission, if you declined my offer I would just wipe your memory of this event and you would continue living your life without ever knowing I existed or any other universe for that matter. The reason I picked you is because what my instincts tell me, and they are usually right, you are the most suitable person to bring balance back to the world of avatar. Not that you are the only person. If you decline I would move on the second most qualified person. And if they declined third. And fourth and fifth and so on. Its just that you are best candidate."

"And how would I bring balance, by defeating the Fire Lord? I don't even have any bending! And isn't that the avatars job?"

The god stood still for a moment. And then spoke again:" First of all you are not bound by any rules to do anything in this new world. The only reason I would be sending you is because my instincts are telling me that your presence is what will cause balance to be achieved in the end. Thats it. For all I know you could begin working for the Fire Lord when I send you. Or die in some random way. But as a person you are the most suitable for this job for reasons unknown to me and if you working for the fire Lord will achieve balance than so be it. You are not bound by anything." he explained.

Huh, so I could do anything I wanted, is that right?

"Yes." The god said. " And also do you think I would send you there with nothing? " he said as if was the funniest thing in the world.

"I don't know you never said anything about giving me anything!" I exclaimed.

He smiled again," Then allow me to explain what I will be giving you as a gift should you accept this proposition. First of all in order to help you I will give you complete immunity to all diseases as I can feel in your thoughts that's one thing that's scaring you the most. So you wont ever be sick or get cancer in later stages in life. How is that for a start?"

I was certainly very happy with that. But if I was gonna be a powerful person in this world I needed more than that.

He read my thoughts and kept on going:" Secondly I will make your body very easy to improve by working out so that you can become a stronger fighter."

That was also very good being able to improve my body huh, I always wanted to be muscular. This would also improve my looks and I would be able to intimidate people I thought grinning to myself.

He continued:" And lastly I will give you bending of your choice apart from air bending as giving you air bending would kinda ruin the whole "The last air bender" thing." He said quite amused.

I laughed at that. I guess I couldn't get air not that I wanted it to be honest. Another element had caught my interest. I thought about something," When I get my bending power would I be able to achieve all abilities associated with that bending power?" I asked hoping that the answer was a solid yes.

The God started laughing." Yes he said. If you saw in it the show the ability is yours to master no matter what it is. But it wont be easy. Although I'm giving you an edge in this world it's not everything. You will still need to work very hard."

I was okay with that. I wanted to work hard anyways. I wanted to feel like I earned what I gained.

"So." The God said." Do you accept?"

I looked at the abyss that was surrounding us. Thought about what the consequences of this would be. If this new world of Bending and 4 nations was worth sacrificing my own world for it. Maybe I shouldn't I thought. Maybe this was a bad idea. Who knows what this world had in store for me. Yeah it probably was a better idea to go back to my own world. But then... I thought to myself I was always a bit weird in my own world. People didn't like me that much. They didn't respect me. For respect you needed a certain degree of power. And I had none in my world this new one, could be the solution to finally having some power...

I looked at the God once again and said spoke with a final tone:

"Yes."
