Chapter 1
"First Meeting"
''Milk, eggs, butter. How on earth did I get stuck doing the grocery shopping?'' A young woman groaned as she read over the small slip of paper in her hand. Wong was supposed to do the grocery shopping, not her. She was the next in line to become the Sorcerer Supreme, she should be back at the Sanctum training, not buying potato chips and garbage bags.
She looked at the half full shopping cart in front of her and sighed. The sooner she got this done the sooner she could get back to work. What was next on her list again? A quick glance answered her question. "Toilet paper."
She gripped the handle of the cart and began to traverse the isles. It didn't take her long to find what she was looking for either, no, the problem was actually reaching it in the back on the top shelf.
"Figures." she whispered. If there weren't cameras placed on the ceiling, she would've tried her luck and used magic to bring the large pack of ultrasoft two-ply to her, but that option was off the table. Besides, if she did get caught using magic out in the open then Dr. Strange would have a fit. That meant she would have to climb for it.
She was about to do just that when a voice suddenly caught her ear. "Do you want me to get that for you?"
The woman nearly jumped out of her skin from sheer surprise. She was sure there was no one else on the isle with her. She quickly whipped her head towards the source, only for her eyes to widen slightly. There she found a young man who looked no older than she did with wavy brown hair and hazel eyes. He also wore plain red hoodie with blue jeans and red sneakers.
The woman was so lost for a moment that she almost didn't register the man waving his hand in front of her face. "Hello? Is anybody home?"
That broke her from whatever trance she found herself in and she could've sworn she felt a slight warmth spreading across her face. She blinked twice before setting her sights back on the stranger who addressed her. His hazel eyes were looking at her with concern, but he also managed to give her a small smile at the same time.
"Y-Yes. Uh... I'm here." she answered. Silently she berated herself for stuttering. She wasn't some scared little girl anymore. She never would be again.
"That's a relief." the man continued to smile. "Thought I'd lost you for a minute there. You alright?"
"I'm fine, really, mister...?"
"Oh, right. Parker, Peter Parker." the now identified man spoke as he extended his hand. Slowly she took it in her own and completed the handshake. It was then she noticed how callused his hand was, but his grip gentle.
"Illyana, Illyana Rasputina." the woman introduced herself.
"That's a nice name, Bulgarian?" Peter asked casually.
"That's right, though I'm from Russia actually." Illyana clarified. She was honestly surprised he knew her given name was Bulgarian. "How about you?"
"New Yorker through and through." he giggled.
It was only after a moment of silence that the pair realized they've yet to let go of the other's hand. Then soon let go as an awkward silence suddenly filled the air. Thankfully it didn't last too long as Peter spoke up.
"Sorry." he apologized.
"You've got nothing to be sorry about." Illyana tried to assure him. She was gripping his hand too after all.
Peter rubbed the back of his head nervously. "If you say so."
More awkward silence.
"So... uh, did you need any help reaching the toilet paper?" Peter asked, remember why he first approached the woman before he'd gotten distracted. It absolutely had nothing to do with the fact he found her attractive. Nope! He was just trying to be a good Samaritan is all.
He hadn't meant to get sidetracked by her long and flowing blonde hair, her blemish free face, and deep blue eyes. Her manner of dress might've been plain with a brown V-Neck t-shirt and jeans, but it did little to hide away what was obviously a nice athletic figure.
Peter's words quickly reminded Illyana why she was even in the isle in the first place. The toilet paper, it was on her list and just out of her reach without her magic. A small part of her wanted to politely decline the offer of assistance, after all it wasn't like she couldn't get it at all. But instead, she would take the young man's offer.
"Thanks... that would be a nice help." she smiled.
Peter found himself smiling back, the awkwardness in the air somewhat evaporating. He reached up to the top shelf and slid the item in question into his grasp before placing it in the awaiting shopping cart.
"There we go. You got the last roll too."
"Guess I'm just lucky." the blonde answered back. "Thanks again."
"No problem. Need any help carrying those out?" Peter asked, gesturing to the groceries.
Illyana giggled. "I appreciate the offer, but I think I can manage these."
"If you say so. I should probably get back to my own shopping." What had he even come into this store for again?
"I understand. I guess I'll see you around then?" Illyana said/asked.
"If I'm in the neighborhood." Peter smiled before waving the blonde goodbye. As he left Illyana couldn't stop her eyes from following his butt. She could feel her cheeks heating up again as he disappeared around a corner.
Maybe getting stuck with grocery duty wasn't such a bad thing.

Author's Notes: This concludes chapter one of this One-Shot series between Spider-Man & Magik. I don't see too much done with this pairing and I thought it'd give it a shot. Chapters won't be in any kind of real order and there won't really be a schedule for when they come out. I hope you all enjoyed this, have an awesome day.
One more thing, if you're wondering how old the characters are in this chapter, Peter is 17 and Illyana is 16.
