A/n this is a story I thought about Callie and Arizona meeting, its canon. I'm sorry if the fashion aspect of it is not good. Let me know if you think it should be a full story. General pov

Arizona woke up early this particular Monday morning. She had a new student joining her pre-k class. Arizona loved new students joining her class. Even if the first days are a little hard to start for most kids. But every child was different and she loved getting to know every last one of them.

Arizona had medium length blonde hair that was wavy and free. She had deep ocean blue eyes and smiled with deep dimples that popped. She was a thin woman with curves in just the right spots. But every woman's weakness was the dimples. Today she was going to dress extra nice for her new student. She wanted to make a good first impression on the big person. So for today she chose a light black knee length black skirt with a slit about three inches up. She paired that with a red blouse with black buttons.

As she went through her morning routine of eating some sugary cereal and brushing her teeth, she thought about the new student. All she knew was that it was a little 4 year old girl named River Torres-philips. She was new to the small Montana town she lived in. Arizona wasn't exactly a long term resident herself. She had only been in this small town of Auburn for three years.

Arizona had moved here after her brother Tim died overseas. Everything reminded her of him back home so she needed a fresh start. She hadn't a clue where to move to so she did it the old fashion way. She hung a map and threw a dart, landed on Montana. So she got a map of Montana and threw another dart landing on Auburn.

Arizona had gotten lucky because a job had just opened up at the local school. The previous teacher had decided to not return after maternity leave. So she found a job fairly quickly. She had gotten lucky and found a little one bedroom apartment two blocks from the school.

Arizona arrived to work on time and got about setting up for the kids. Making sure everything was implace like she hadn't set it up the night before. It was 7:02 when the first student Olivia arrived. Like always Arizona greeted all the students as they walked in, after a few seconds and all the seasoned students had hung their coats and backpacks. She walked over to her desk and started to say good morning when she heard a light cough. Arizona did a quick glance at the door and then immediately looked back at it.

There staring at her was the most beautiful tanned woman she had ever seen. And she had seen a lot. Arizona was known around the dating pool. At least back home in Colorado . She has only been on a handful of dates since moving, never going back for a second. She was quite content just being her for now.

Arizona shook her head unnoticeably and walked over to the woman and stretched out her hand to shake it

"Hello, I'm ms. Robbins, I'll be Rivers teacher for the remainder of the year."

"Nice to meet you ms. Robbins I'm calliope, uh callie Torres." The brunette woman silently chastised herself; she hated being called calliope.

"Hi River, it's nice to have you join our class. You're gonna have a great time!"

But all the River did was just shake her head sending black tussles flying about. And never letting go of Callies leg.

"Would you like to show River to her desk?" Arizona pointed to the empty desk next to Tony.

Callie, River, and Arizona all walked to her desk.

"River this is is tony your table partner"

"Hi River" Tony spoke softly to greet his new table partner.

"No!" River shouted.

"It's ok honey you will enjoy it i promise, doesn't look so nice. Please baby mommas gotta go to work. It's my first day I can't be late" Callie tried to peel her daughter who was clutching tightly.

"Come on sweety let's let momma get to work we are about to color doesn't that sound fun?" Arizona reasoned with the preschooler.

"Do you have purple?" The mini brunette questioned.

"Well yah, it's the best color in the rainbow" Arizona lightly tickled her side. And she's slowly let go.

Callie whispered thank you to Arizona and stood up. They both walked to the door

"Have a great first day calliope see you at pick up"

"Yah, you too" callie had never heard her name sound so beautiful.

General pov

Callie got in her old red sedan that she had won in the divorce, not surprisingly. She had paid the car off single handedly. Her ex husband was lazy to say the least. He refused to get a job but also refused to stay home with River. So Callie made the decision to move on for her and for their daughter. Devon, her ex husband, was starting to drink way too much and act like a jerk. And Callie never wanted that life for her daughter. She couldn't go home. Her parents disowned her when they found out that she had dated a woman before devon. So she called her friend Mark who had moved to auburn after college to start a dental practice. He told her the antique shop next door was hiring and could talk to the owner who was a regular in his office. And he followed through and landed her the job. For now she was crashing in his spare bedroom with her daughter until she could save up, the divorce and the drinking had wiped out her savings.

The shop was called 'orphan annies' and sat on court street. Which was really only a three or four minute drive. She had Pandora playing her p!nk mix, which always got the brunette up and going.

Once she arrived at work she could only think about the, for lack of a better word, hot, very hot blonde. Her hand had been so soft. Callie thought about how her eyes felt like they looked right into her soul. Which was not something she minded. Callie has only been with one woman in her life. Her name was Elizabeth and they had met in high school junior year. They kept it a secret from her parents until about a year and a half after she got married. Her mom was cleaning out her old room and found the box of love letters they had passed back and forth.

But that was about ten years ago. And now here she was attracted to her kids teacher. Callie shook the thought off and tried to stay busy. she was gonna be here for the next five hours. Callie was very thankful for pre-school she could not afford childcare.

As the day ended Callie was nervous to face the blonde again. The woman was bubbly and when she smiled Callie wanted to melt. But she had to put her big girl panties on and pick up her daughter. So off she was.

Arizona was saying goodbye hoping to see the tanned woman again. She had occupied her mind all day. And looking at her miniature version of callie was hard. They colored, played in the sandbox, They had a snack, traced some numbers, They read, had lunch and recess. Then they watched a movie on animals. It had been a good day. Arizona hadn't needed to scold any of the kids. Tony and River got along great.

Arizona had her back turned when she her the same light cough again

"Ah. Your back Calliope!" Arizona turned around all smiles. Dimples on full display.

"Callies fine, yes how did it go" Callie hoped Arizona couldn't tell she was nervous. But she was. And Arizona could tell. But she didn't know why.

"It went great actually, River seems to get along with Tony. She's been a great student all day."

"That's great I'm so glad"

"MOMMY!" River had noticed her mom finally she was too busy playing with blocks to notice she had walked in minutes ago.

"Hey mija, I hear you had a good day?"

"It was the best, can I come back?" All three girls were all smiles.

"Of Course you can tomorrow!"

"Yay" River ran off to grab her bag and coat.

"Thank you so much ." The darker woman smiled at the shorter blonde woman.

"The pleasure was mine"

Arizona smiled as they left. Thankfully she had a good day. And couldn't wait for the parents to drop off in the morning. But for now she will tidy up her classroom and prepare for tomorrow's lesson. Arizona didn't want to cause any problems having a crush on her student's mother. So for now she will stuff it down deep. She can make the last 5 months of being her teacher.
