Third Person POV

A bright light flashes on school grounds and a teenager falls out of the sky. He lands, not so gracefully, on his head.

"Shit" He stands up, rubbing his head, and looks around. He's tall and well muscled, like a soldier, and has short, spiked dark hair. His right eye is a warm brown, his left is a black void.

He looks at the sky, "This is not my kitchen, I really need to get a hang over my power." He turns toward the nearest building and walks inside.

His POV

How did I get here? Where even am I? I rub my head, still throbbing from Mac's birthday party. At least the transportation made me sober again, somehow.

I look around the building I entered, trying to get every detail. For all I know, this is a hostile environment. I put my fingers around the communicator on my neck, I need to get somewhere secure and try to contact the other's. Another thought hits me, more terrifying than the prospect of unknown territory, Oh God, Sylvia and Miranda are gonna kill me.

I grab one of the skull studs on my belt, extending it into a greek xiphos, my favourite shortsword. The reinforced wooden handle comforts me, a sense of security.

In truth, their probably isn't any need for weapons, only one person has ever been able to do any serious damage to me and he was an evil shadow of myself. I've come back from having my very essence erased, out of boredom for heaven's sake, I'm not even fully attached to reality. Nonetheless, ever since last year, when my shadow attacked my friends and I, I've been bored.

I shake my head, focusing on the building again. It appears to be an old manor, probably part of the school outside. It's the middle of the night, the students should be gone, so I just need to find a secure room.

The building is dark, but that doesn't bother me, my left eye can see perfectly in any environment. A perk of my power resting there at all times. The downside is that anybody who can see through the veil can see that my left eye is a dark void. I walk up the stairs and see a door at the end of the hall, I pick up my pace.

A room at the end of the hall is a good place. Only one entrance, maybe a few windows, but I'm on the second floor.

I stop just outside the door. I stiffen, I'm not alone. Voices. Probably just some kids, but I don't exactly attend school here. I hear the floor creak behind me and turn around. I stop my sword mid-swing, centimetres away from taking the head off a short blonde girl.

Lowering my sword cautiously, I whisper quietly. "You scared me there, lassie. It's not a good idea to creep up on a battle scarred soldier. Now be quiet, and please tell me where I am."

She nods, eyes wide in fear, and whispers. "You're at Kuoh Academy, in the Occult Research Club building. Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

I shake my head, "Who I am isn't important. I don't know how I got here, it just happened, now I'm leaving." That's not good, I spent too long talking. I leave, watching the girl until I'm down the stairs. I need to get somewhere else.

I bolt out the door and hide behind a tree, I tap my communicator to answer the buzzing on my chest. "Who is it?"

"Yo, Guerrimo? Where are you, bro? You're missing out on the afterparty. Are you trying to get out of celebrating your best friend's birthday?"

Mac. I sigh, he's still hungover. "Hey bro, I don't know what happened, but I'm gone. I was going for some cornflakes, because I was hungry, and ended up falling out of the sky in a schoolyard. Can you ask Garri to get a read on my location?"

"Yeah, yeah. Give me a second." A few seconds of silence.

"Alright, Guerrimo. You aren't gonna like this, but Garri says you're in an alternate dimension. Not like Heaven or Hell alternate dimension, but a completely different reality."

I sigh. "Alright. I'm going to try to find out how to get back, but it might take a while. Can you do me a favour?"

"What's the favour?"

"I need you to watch my kids for me. I was supposed to do it while Sylvia and Miranda went out for a girls night, but I can't do that right now. They're going to kill me when I get back, but if they can go on their outing they might be a bit more lenient."

"Yeah, I can watch them, but you owe me for this. It's your fault you married such feisty women, I'm not going to cover for you every time you hop dimensions. By the way, your birthday is in two months. Try to get back before then, I don't want to miss you hitting the big 2-0."

"Alright. I have to go now, I need to be careful. I'll call you later, Kraft."
He audibly groans, "I told you not to call me that, greeny. I have to go now, Steve's trying to clean us out of beer."

"Tell him to stay away from my Guiness, or I'll make another great lake kicking his ass again."

Mac laughs and cuts the connection.

I stand up from the tree and slowly move away.

"Stop where you are, don't take another step!" Red strands of energy grasp my feet. A group of people walks in front of me, mostly girls but with two dudes. The blonde girl I talked to is holding tightly onto a brown haired guy. He's glaring at me. I knew talking to her would come back to bite me. I should've knocked her out.

I sigh, tempted to just break the tentacles and run, but maybe they can be of some use. "Fine. I'll stay still for now. What do you want?"

One of the girls, one with long red hair, speaks up. "You attacked Asia, after sneaking into our building. You know what we are, give me one reason not to kill you right where you stand."

I grin, slightly amused. "I can give you three, actually. I entered your building because I have no idea how I got here, or really where here was. I was looking for somewhere to call a friend for help. I only attacked blondie there because she scared me. As you can see, I stopped myself and she doesn't even have a scratch on her. For my second reason, I didn't know that you folks were magical until you revealed it. That wasn't smart by the way, never reveal any information you don't have to unless it benefits you or you don't intend to let the target survive."

The redhead glares at me, "And the third reason?"

I laugh and smile broadly, "You couldn't kill me if you tried."

The black haired girl steps up next to the redhead, "We've dealt with plenty of people who said the same thing. What makes you different?"

"Well, considering God himself can't harm me, I doubt you can. If you really want to, you can try. Just don't cry when it doesn't work."

The redhead yells at me and fires a ball of energy in my direction. I break the energy holding my feet with no effort and kick through the ball, dispersing it completely.

"Need any more demonstration?"

She glares at me and yells at the others, "Fan out, I want him dead." She's clearly the leader, then. The group fans out around me and I take up my stance, arms up to protect my vitals and my legs spread for optimum balance and power. I'm going to go non-lethal. This is a misunderstanding after all.

The dark haired girl flies into the air and summons a bolt of lightning, trying to hit me with it. I sidestep it easily and throw a rock at her, knocking her out. I've dealt with lightning before, Annie uses it quite well. I hear rapid footsteps behind me and turn around in time to see a white haired girl with cat ears trying to hit me with a superman punch.

I grab her out of the air and throw her to the ground. I stare her in the eyes and smile, "Jumping attacks are bad form, dear. You have no control over them once you leave the ground and they're easily predictable. They run out of energy quickly, too." I give her a quick kick to the side of the head and knock her out.

A blonde guy appears in front of me and tries to hit me with a sword, but I duck quickly and punch him in the stomach, causing him to double over. "Teleportation, or just really fast? Not bad, but not fast enough."

The brown haired guy tries to hit me, his arm has some kind of red gauntlet on it. I wrap my hand around his neck and lift him off the ground. "Nice gauntlet, some kind of weapon I presume?"

He claws at my arm and tries to break free, "Let me go, you bastard."

A green gem on the back of his gauntlet glows, repeating something over and over again. Boost, what the hell does that mean? I tighten my grip on his throat, "No thanks, kid. You guys attacked first. I tried to explain, but the redhead clearly didn't listen. Not the best leader is she? She seems quite impulsive, and not very smart."

He glares at me, "Don't insult Lady Rias!" He punches me in the face with his gauntlet. I barely flinch and punch him in the face in return. His nose starts bleeding and his eyes go unfocused. I drop him and turn towards the redhead.

"Rias, was it? Are you satisfied? Your entire team is incapacitated. Notice how I stayed non-lethal? I'm still willing to talk this out and explain. Do you accept a peaceful meeting? If you attack again, I will be forced to identify you as threats and eliminate you."

Rias looks at me for a second, glaring. Then she takes a deep breath. "Fine. Asia, heal the others. I'm going to have a talk with this one."
