Chapter 1- Alone again, for the moment

Loneliness.

That was what she felt right now. It was something that she had been feeling for the last couple of hours, and the snow storm that she was in didn't make her current predicament any better than it actually was. The girl in question was Jocelyn, a 10-year old girl who had recently gone through what would make a military veteran's knees buckle in fear. Two weeks prior she had experienced a ship crash in a forest nearby her home. It was full of abominations, monstrous beings she'd learn that were called xenomorphs. They were vicious, unrelenting in destroying the two people she loved most, her mother and father. She recalled there being around twenty of them, however two of them were far from the normal King and Queen Xenomorphs. They looked more like demons from hell, bulkier and bigger crests almost showing how powerful they were in their group. After they had tortured and shredded her parents limb to limb, with some consumption involved that she didn't want to get into, she expected her siblings and herself to be next, however the monsters simply left, leaving the earth with the same ship they had used to get on the planet.

What had occurred was horrific and traumatizing for the four siblings. Her oldest brother, Jerek was traumatized the most, he rarely spoke and never showed any emotion other than a blank stare to anyone. The death of their guardians had a huge negative impact on the boy's psyche and had given him major depression. She recalled that he explained that he was the oldest sibling and had failed to protect them from seeing what they could never forget. Her older sister, Jaylen suffered from bipolar disorder, she would angrily lash out at anyone who would simply speak or try to comfort her about her loss, her own siblings as well. The young girl knew that there was nothing that could be done and so she just wanted to move on with her life, but at the same time angrily mentioned that if those things returned then she'd be the one to end them. Her younger brother, Joseph would wake up crying almost every night after the terrifying event. The boy was the michelangelo of the group and therefore the baby. He didn't have the courage to stare death in the face like Jerek, the unstoppable rage that Jaylen held within her, or the impressive IQ that Jocelyn possessed, but what the three were grateful for was his knack for puns and quips, which he still did to make them feel better. It resulted in laughter from Jocelyn and Jaylen, but with Jerek he would simply give an unemotional stare or simply look the other way. Not even their best friends Jinnie, Gerard and Svetlana, who were just like family to them could soothe their pain.

As a warrior race that was supposed to be ruthless and unemotional towards killing, the quadruplets had only lived their 10 years as humans, a race that was different, yet in a way similar to the saiyans. Their mother, a half-breed human and saiyan had taught the four of them the ways of a human, yet at the same time the ways of a saiyan. At first it was confusing because they were only 5 years old, but as the years passed, Jocelyn began to understand what she meant. To be a human means to know what is important in life, do only what you can and focus on the positive aspects of life, not the negatives. She also had begun instructing the young saiyans the ways of self defense. Her mother favored Chinese martial arts, especially the five traditional animal styles of shaolin kung fu, the dragon, snake, tiger, leopard, and crane, not to mention the other animal fighting styles. The four of them had chosen a different animal style, not wanting to be what Joseph called a "copy cat". Her choice was the Leopard, in which she had become a natural in learning. Jocelyn's style of fighting suited the animal style and vice-versa, but that all changed when their mother had revealed an exciting secret to them all: Super Saiyan. She had explained to them that the saiyan race had a legend, that once every thousand years that the legendary super saiyan would appear, but then that legend had been proven false when she found out that all saiyans with enough s-cells could transform. Eventually, she was proven right when Jerek had transformed into a super saiyan at the age of 6 years. Jocelyn's transformation followed soon after, and later was Joseph. Having the saiyan's main trait, a tail did aid in their training. However, in Jaylen's case it wasn't the same. She became angry that she would become the last one to become a super saiyan. One day when the children and their friends were hanging out in a nearby grass plain , Joseph and Gerard kept jabbing at her on how she wouldn't take her training seriously despite the fact that she did. Jaylen was a stubborn child, but definitely heeded her parents advice. However, the two boys passed the line of no return when Jaylen underwent a rage induced transformation. Jocelyn recalled how her sisters physique basically doubled in size and was out of control, even the combined might of Jerek, Jinnie, Svetlana, Joseph, Gerard and herself couldn't wear her out, they were all lucky to still be alive, albeit with a few bruises and nursing fractured bones by the time her mother and father arrived. Luckily her mother easily knocked the child out with a simple blow to the back of her neck, rendering her unconscious. Jaylen claimed that she didn't remember anything, but didn't regret giving the two idiots who started it what they deserved. Jocelyn remembered the skeptical look on her mother's face when she first saw Jaylen in that blood-crazed state, but never brought it up.

Jocelyn shivered and rubbed her arms furiously while blotting these thoughts out of her head. She still had a mission to do. Searching for the xenomorphs like those people from that company told her about. 'Weyland Yutani' she thought. After the whole rampage was over, apparently someone had somehow caught wind of what had occurred immediately and, after many attempts to persuade Jerek to allow them to do some "research", Jocelyne was able to get through to the boy, telling him that they could be the key to finding the xenomorphs. Despite the fact that the land that they owned was what a billionaire could afford, the scientists were only allowed to stay in the front and any attempts to enter their mansion would result in Jaylen going into a fierce frenzy to protect her home. After the examination was finished, the body of the quadruplets' parents, or what remained of them, was buried in their backyard hidden from anyone that may have stayed behind. They held a small funeral with Jinnie, Gerard and Svetlana standing on the side, letting the other four take their time to mourn. Not long after, they were given an invitation by the company to find more of those monsters. Jocelyn, Joseph and Svetlana quickly accepted their offer, however Jerek rejected, knowing that the company was known for working only for the profit and would easily sacrifice human life. Jinnie also hesitated, wanting to assist in finding those creatures, but ultimately declined due to her new found fear of those monsters. Gerard and Jaylen both stayed behind to help the still-grieving Jerek. Jocelyn only wanted to find the xenomorphs and kill them so the same thing wouldn't happen to anyone else, Joseph and Svetlana agreeing with her. Before they left, the trio promised that they would return to them within a few weeks. This earned a smile from Jerek, something they all treasured within their memories.

Now she was stranded, walking aimlessly in the Mendocino National Forest of California while it was snowing. Of course she had been prepared for this trip, being notified on where her next location would be. They had been kind enough to provide her with a jacket and pants with pads within the coverings radiating some much-needed heat, along with thick snow boots. She had been asked if she needed a weapon, some of the men scoffing that a mere child required nor could use one. Jocelyne merely smirked and whipped out her elemental spear, a gift from her mother, letting the metallic alloy morph into what looked like the flames of fire itself and demonstrating her skills. Suffice to say they were all shocked and ate their words. Her spear was now collapsed and slung on the harness on her back, all the while radiating warmth so she wouldn't freeze to death in this environment, but at this point the storm was getting worse and she had to find shelter fast, but the problem was clear to her now. She couldn't see 10ft in front of her. "Things could not possibly get any worse." Jocelyn said to herself. Of course, she had to be proven wrong when something huge just landed right in front of her. She knew what this was, It was a yautja, her mother and father had explained to them about what their race was, and from what she had heard, they were supposed to be honorable, Jocelyn could only hope that this wasn't what she thought it was: bad blood. He had mottled skin, patches of green and yellow, and looked just under 7 feet. He had a mask covering his face, some sort of fishing net covering its chest, and some armor covering parts of his body. How he wasn't freezing was beyond her. The fear that had settled into her began to turn into exhaustion as she fell forward flat on her face, unconscious.

The male that had appeared before her had been following her for some time now, and he was concerned at the fact that there was a child not only walking by herself, but in a dangerous snow storm. After about 20 minutes of following, he came to the conclusion that she was lost and couldn't possibly see where she was going, so he finally decided to show himself much to her surprise. When she fell he quickly knelt to her side, using his mask to examine her. He scanned her and found no injuries, however this intense cold doesn't seem to be letting up and he doubted that she could survive on her own, so he did the only thing that would not only be the honorable thing and save her life, but would most likely get him in trouble as well. Not only will his sisters be disappointed in him, but his sire and bearer would be as well, but their prejudice against oomans didn't matter to him, this was the honorable thing to do and he won't let this pup die to mere cold.
