I'm back people!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted for this universe. In the last couple of years, I have hardly posted my written work period. I got into a real bad writing funk. It got to the point where I hated writing. I decided to stop and review why I used to love creating stories to hating every second of writing. Conclusion: (1) I had too many and too high expectations. (2) I have recently been trying to write stories. In the past, I wrote characters and the emotions they were feeling. The story was second. I am now embracing the old ways of teenage me and boy, has it worked! (Ya'll, we don't have to lose our spark in adulthood.)

This story takes place in my Children's Crusade series. It is the origin story of Shadow the Hedgehog and takes place about 50 years before Child In the Alley. I plan to post one new chapter once every two weeks on Wednesday.

Enjoy!

Shadow did not struggle as he was lowered into the green glass tube. His feet and hands were bound with inhibitors that restrained him and prohibited his powers from materializing. But even with that, he would have still fought if he were the same hedgehog that he was a few months ago.

But he wasn't.

All he cared about was staring into the green eyes of the man before him. Shadow envisioned all the

ways he could kill him. Oh, how fulfilling it would be to see the man skewered on his chaos spear as he grasped the tip covered in blood. Or watched as the man's face turned from red to purple as he was strangled. But most of all, Shadow envisioned holding one of the man's own guns directly in his face. The man would beg for mercy. He would offer anything for Shadow to spare his life. But what Shadow wanted could not be given. He would watch with a grin, white pointed teeth showing, as the man's eyes leaked of life simply because he pulled the trigger. The man's bulletproof vest would do him no service when his face was full of holes.

A strange but pleasant feeling filled Shadow's gut and stomach.

It's ironic. Shadow's first memories were from being imprisoned inside a green glass tube. He was young, and early in the development phase so he remembered little. The feint memories that stuck out the most were humans dressed in white, not being able to move, and a consuming desire to be out.

Now here he was, being locked behind green glass once again in what GUN hoped would be his end. But that was okay. Shadow emerged from a green tube once and he can do it again. Shadow knew that those disgusting eyes would not be the last thing he saw. But he vowed that red eyes would be the last thing the man knew before he died.

After all, Shadow had to keep his promise to Maria. And he never breaks his promises.

I chose this as the theme song of this story. The link below, please listen to the clean version.
