It was early in the morning when it came...or was it late at night? I don't know, but I was sleeping when it happened.

Uncle Alfon gently nudges me awake. I rub my tired blue eyes and look up; he is holding it. If you don't know what 'it' is, which you most likely don't, I will tell you. It was a note.

"What kind of note?" you may ask.

Well, let's just say it was a very good one for a boy like me. I am a very poor boy who can't afford to go to school so I am taught at home by my uncle. I know this might sound crazy, but, I never knew my parents or if I have siblings. My life has just been crazy these years I've lived. I only know my uncle and that is good enough for me. My name...is Link. Okay, so back to the note.

My uncle reads it to me out loud, "Dear parents or guardians of Link Rinku, I would like to inform you that your son or daughter, Link Rinku, has been selected as one of the few kids to join Hyrule's best knight academy. Your son or daughter, Link Rinku, must travel by train to our boarding school at sunrise, thank you and have a nice day."

"Wow, when is that?!" I ask, trying to brush my blonde hair down and put my little green cap on.

Uncle Alfon doesn't answer, he just sniffles and tries to hold back tears. Apparently, this has made him very sad.

"Link, I really will miss you... I never had to see you leave before," Uncle Alfon says with his mustache drooping.

"Uncle Alfon, I think you have been around me too long, considering the fact that you still help me bathe... Don't you trust me?" I ask my uncle.

"Ah, Link, you're right... Link, my one and only nephew, I shall miss you, but I know you will do great out there," my uncle says, ruffling my hair.

"Thank you Uncle Alfon, I will come back and visit you!" I call out as I run out the front door to the train station, alone.

I reach the train station just in time to catch the early train. You will never guess just how excited I am about going somewhere new. By the way, in case you don't know already, I am ten years old.

"Hey, kid, where do you plan on going?!" the conductor calls to me as I step in.

"The knight academy!" I call over the train engine.

"Okay, youngster, you can call me Linebeck," the conductor calls.

"My name is Link," I call out.

"Okay, Shorty, take a seat," Linebeck purposely calls out.

'Well that was offensive,' I think as I took a seat.

Halfway through the ride I take out the little sword my uncle gave me when I was only six years old. The sword has a little green gem on the handle, not that I would usually pay attention to something like that. I hold up the sword and the handle vibrates and the gem sparkles.

'What does that mean?' I think as I put the sword down.

After awhile of riding, the conductor blows the horn and picks up the intercom, "Green hat, please get off the train, we have now arrived at your destination!"

"Thanks, Linebeck," I say as I get out of the train.

I am about to enter the building, but then I trip over three other kids who are trying to get in at the same time as me.

"Whoa, I am terribly sorry," I say, getting off of the ground.

One of the boys is crying and another one yells, "Sorry isn't going to be enough to repair this embarrassment!"

The third one just gets up right away and stares at me. That is when I realize that all of us look almost exactly the same.

"Who are you guys?" I ask, still staring at the three other boys.

"I am Vio," responds the one in a purple tunic.

"I am Red," responds the one in the red tunic who still has tears running down his face.

"I am Blue!" responds the rude one wearing a blue tunic.

"Do you three know each other?" I ask.

"No!" Blue yells angrily.

"How come we all look the same?" I ask.

"Well, we don't know each other, so we aren't related, but I am guessing this is just a coincidence," Vio replies.

Each of them has a sword in their sheath like I do so I ask, "Could I see your swords?"

"No!" yells Blue.

I take out my sword and show them the green gem. Vio takes his out and it has a purple gem on the end, and then Red takes his out and it has a red gem. That is when I start to get suspicious about whether or not Blue's sword has a blue gem.

Suddenly a guy with long brown hair bursts out of the building and says, "Hello students, I am going to be your instructor for the day! You may call me instructor Horwell."

"More like instructor Horrorwell," Blue mumbles under his breath.

"Hey, that isn't nice, Blue!" Red whines.

"It doesn't matter if it isn't nice, the world isn't nice!" Blue yells.

In his anger, he pulls his sword out and I get a peek at the handle. Sure enough, there is a blue gem on the end.

"Okay, students, calm down…let me show you your other instructor. Instructor Owlan, please come to the front of the building!" Horwell yells into a walkie-talkie.

A guy with long white hair who looks similar to Horwell appears at the door and says, "Oh, so this is the lucky four you chose?"

"Wait there is only going to be four of us?" I ask.

"Yep, that is how come our school is so good; we take time with a few students at a time to make sure they are learning," Instructor Owlan answers.

"Okay, so we know you all look the same, but we know you are the best pick for our academy," Horwell says randomly.

"Me, look the same as these idiots, no way!" Blue shouts.

"Okay, can we enter the building yet?" Vio asks.

"Oh yeah, yes, of course, come on in!" Horwell says excitedly.

Red then asks, "How can we get in when you are standing in the door way?"

"Oops," Owlan says and backs away from the door so that we ca get in.

All of us enter the building and study the surroundings. There is a small cafeteria, a restroom, two classrooms and a set of stairs leading to the second floor. We go up the stairs and find four small bedrooms and a bathroom, plus an office.

"So, how are you enjoying the academy?" Owlan asks.

"We haven't learned anything yet," Vio states, plainly.

"Well, I am glad we haven't learned anything yet because I am too hungry to focus!" Blue yells, his voice echoing through the empty hall.

"It is so empty!" Red whines.

I glance at the bedroom doors, trying to decide which one I would like to claim.

"I get the best room, whichever one it is!" Blue shouts.

Red makes a sad face at Blue. Blue turns around and pushes Red over before quickly running to check out each room.

Horwell just says, "Blue, the only thing different about each room is that they are based on your color."

"I don't care mister, I will have the best room, then the best grades, and then I will be the best of everything!" Blue shouts from one of the rooms.

"Horwell, Blue pushed me!" Red cries from the floor.

Blue comes out of the room he is in and wanders into the last room, the one closest to the office, "Darn Owlan, putting the best room the closest to the office!"

Vio, Red and I wander over to Blue to see why the room is 'the best'.

"Oh," Vio says noticing the blue walls and blue carpet.

After awhile we all find out where our rooms are located. Unfortunately, my room is the closest to Blue's room. Vio is on the other side of my room and Red has his room the furthest away from Blue's room; lucky boy.

"Okay, guys, I am going to leave you four alone so you can get to know each other," Owlan says ignoring the look on Blue's face.

Red wanders into my room and asks, "So, your name is Link?"

"Yep," I respond.

"Why do you think we all look the same?" Red asks.

"I don't know, Red. We can't be related, though, it's just impossible," I answer.

"How?" Red asks.

"My uncle told me on my way out the door that I am his one and only nephew, so you can't be my brothers or else he would have four nephews," I answer.

"Well, what if he was lying to protect you?" Red asks.

"Why would my uncle lie? That would be ridiculous," I responded.

"I don't know, but we all have the same type of sword. Don't you think that means something?" Red asks.

Vio comes into the room and says, "There's ways to see if we are related. We would just need to gather some DNA samples from each of us and I could pull out my portable lab and test it."

"Where in the world did that come from, why would you carry a lab with you anyway?" I ask.

Vio just looks down at the ground and looks nervous before replying, "It was a gift from my grandpa,"

"How in Hyrule are you going to get DNA from Blue?!" Red asks.

"Well, I just have to be secretive," Vio answers.

"So, what are you going to get DNA from?" I asks.

"I can use hair, blood, spit, or pee." Vio answers calmly, as if that would be something that a normal person would say.

"What if I don't want to give you a piece of my DNA?" Red asks.

"Then Link will forever be haunted by the fact that you are potentially his brother," Vio replies.

"But it would be impossible for us to be brothers," I add.

"Well, I bet you five rupees that we are brothers," Vio responds.

"Okay, but you know you'll end up giving me those five rupees," I reply.

"Who should I start with?" Vio asks me.

"Yourself," I answer.

"Okay…" Vio says.

Vio then pricks himself with the edge of his sword and collects the blood for the experiment.

"Uh, Vio, isn't there an easier way to do this then hurting ourselves?" Red asks with a scared expression on his face.

I prick myself with my sword and Vio collects it.

"Now, should I analyze these two and then test the other two or collect them all and then test them all?" Vio asks me.

"Um," I answer.

"Okay, that sounds good," Vio replies, then he says, "Red."

"No, I don't want to prick myself!" Red whines.

"Red, I think this is important to know, I want to know why we are so similar," I tell Red while rubbing his head.

Vio takes Red's sword out and gently pricks Red's arm to collect the blood.

"Oww," Red cries and rubs the area Vio has just swabbed.

Vio places the swab with the other samples and labels it so he can remember which one is which. We sneak quietly into Blue's room. Blue pops up from the bed and starts yelling at us.

"What are you fools doing in my room?!" Blue yells.

"Blue is mean!" Red whines.

"No, I am not, you little piece of crud!" Blue yells from his bed.

"Vio, Blue is yelling at me and calling me names!" Red whines.

Vio says, "Its okay, Red."

"Get out of my room, I am not going to let you pull your little tricks on me! No one is going to do any testing on this guy here, and, for your information, idiots, I am the best and one of a kind! I have no siblings, so there! Try to pull your tricks on me and you're dead!" Blue yells.

"Hey, students, are you ready for lunch?" Horwell calls up the stairs.

"Wow, it's lunch time already?" Red asks.

"Of course, you dumb dumb, we have been here forever and I am still the best!" Blue randomly yells.

Red is about to start crying so I hug him and rub his head.

"Thank you, Link, you are the best!" Red shouts and we all head down stairs for lunch.
