Rose is fire. But she learned from her mum's Muggle movies the lessons school can't teach her.

(fighting fire with fire only burns.)

So she ended her relationships with Scorpius and more recently with Teddy because they are fire, too, so why be the one to get burned?

She looks for ice because ice is safe. Lorcan Scamander is safe, is ice, but when it comes down to it, they are forever polar opposites, and they will never work. It's imagination, songs and music verses realism, books, and studies.

So she looks for ice.

/

She finds Astoria Malfoy: married with a heart of stone, not truly capable of love and maybe she's looking for fire.

Because the same principal applies to ice.

(fighting ice with ice only freezes more.)

So she meshes fire and ice in a flurry of loud moans, wrinkled sheets, and meaningful touches and after they're done and breathing heavily, Rose looks over and something comes over her. Regret? (No, no.) Contentment. (Damn. Not what she expected.)

(is she looking for ice or love?)

And, yeah, maybe she's moaning Scorpius's name while she's tangling Astoria's sheets, but Scorpius found someone else (ice) and it doesn't sound like he's settling either.

Rose isn't looking for permanent. She's looking for now, and now is Astoria Malfoy and settling seems alright for now.

(she's fire, and maybe she's ice, but all she is for sure is burned.)
