The Proposal
BPOV
Another week had gone by and Edward and I have seemed to develop a nice routine. This past week wasn't as difficult as last week had been for him being at work. It was finally Saturday again and it was date night for Edward and me. He was taking me out on the town and he wouldn't give me any hints as to where. Rose, Alice, and I had left in the morning to go be pampered, plucked, and polished at a spa that Alice raved over. As I was relaxing with a mud mask on my face, I thought back over the last week.
Following our movie date, Edward and I had spent every second we could with each last weekend. He took me out for a sail while Rose and Em joined us. I've never seen anything as sexy as Edward captaining his boat, his muscles straining as he hoisted sails, and the sweat on his brow and chest glistening in the sunlight. Oh, did I mention he was shirtless? I panted just thinking about it.
Em was vibrating in excitement, soaking in all of Edward's instruction on sailing, as he was acting as first mate. Rose and I just lay back on the deck, sunning ourselves in the rays as we watched our loves hustling about. I had never seen Edward look as free as he did when the boat was flying over the waves, his head tilted up slightly as the wind rushed over his face, grinning widely.
Sunday was even more perfect as Edward took me on a romantic picnic in the park. He had left me in the morning, saying he had to stop by the hospital briefly, but then he came back and picked me up, driving us to the park. I found out that he had actually picked up a basket filled with catered delicacies. That sneaky, beautiful man. He spread his booty out on a blanket he had placed on the grass. We fed each other scrumptious cheeses with crackers, mouthwatering lobster salad, and chocolate covered strawberries. After eating, we just laid in each others' arms, staring into each others' eyes and talked about anything and everything between sweet and gentle kisses. It was absolutely the most romantic day of my life.
Sunday evening we had dinner at Alice and Jasper's house along with Em and Rose. Edward's parents were away on a romantic weekend. The six of us had a blast, chowing down on Chinese food and playing board games. When we switched over to guitar hero, the guys were battling it out for supremacy. Em was having a ball since it was abundantly clear he now had buddies that were as competitive as he is. I loved our little group of six. It was almost like it was destined for us all to be together, since we fit and complemented each other so perfectly. I especially liked seeing how well Edward and Em got along, although I did see a couple glares from Em when Edward would put his hand on my knee or steal a kiss.
Damn overprotective big brother bear.
On Monday, Alice called me in the afternoon while I was deeply entrenched in writing my novel. Edward had texted me earlier, letting me know that he would be home a little late that night. Alice told me that Jasper had a late meeting and she wondered if the two of us could go out for dinner. I told her sure and she picked me up around 6:30. We went out for Italian and she regaled me with the story of how she and Jasper met while I twirled my fettuccine. She told me how they had met at a Masen business gala and she knew immediately that she loved him. I had thought Edward and I moved fast, but she comforted me by saying that she and Jasper were talking marriage by day two.
These Cullens sure moved fast.
Tuesday I spent re-uniting with some old friends, at least over the phone. I felt comfortable in my surroundings in Chicago and was ready to share my joy with Angela and Jake. Angela had returned from her honeymoon and was just ecstatic when I told her about Edward. She thought it was so romantic how we met. Jake was also surprisingly happy for me. He said he was bummed I was all the way across the country, but he was very happy I had found my love. He told me that he was also content because he had been dating Leah Clearwater the last couple of months. She sounded like a great girl and I was glad my friend had found someone to love. I told him I would send him plane tickets to come visit me sometime.
Wednesday brought about what was becoming a weekly lunch date with Esme. As usual, she was the perfect sounding board for me to tell her everything I had been doing the past week. She loved hearing me talk about my burgeoning novel and she asked if she may be able to read it sometime. I promised her that she would be the first. I blushed when she told me about her romantic weekend with Carlisle, the way her eyes sparkled and her voice lilted when she talked about him made me swoon. I could only hope that Edward and I would have this type of close and loving relationship if we spent 30 years together. Following lunch, Esme and I went to the children's hospital to play with the kids. It was so much fun. The way their eyes lit up, even when we did something as simple as reading them a story, made my eyes tear. Edward walked in while we were playing Candyland with a little girl and his smile was a mile wide. My breath hitched when I saw him in his white coat and stethoscope and the casual and playful way he interacted with the kids, just making them comfortable. I licked my lips thinking about him putting that stethoscope on me.
Please Dr. Cullen, can you check my heart?
The strawberry blond nurse "accidentally" bumped into me as I was walking down the hall with Esme. I turned around to look at her and she just sneered back at me. I saw fire start blazing in Esme's eyes as she went off on her, calling her nurse Denali, and telling her that she better learn to restrain herself if she wanted to keep her job. I saw Tanya, as I learned her name was, gulp as she realized she was provoking the ire of the wife of the Chief of Staff. Esme's momma bear claws were released. I just smiled sweetly at Tanya, holding myself back from sticking my tongue out at her. I gently guided Esme's elbow and walked out with her as she grabbed my hand to hold. I didn't want to cause any drama at Edward's workplace.
Bitch better back the fuck off though.
The rest of the week flew by with me engrossed in my writing during the days and engrossed with Edward during the nights. I had also braved the Chicago streets and taken the car out a couple times. The BMW was such a smooth ride and nothing like my old, rusty beast. I had managed to make it to the market to replenish the kitchen stock as I experimented with new recipes each night. It warmed my heart to see Edward enjoy the dinners I prepared each evening. I knew Edward was planning a special date for us on Saturday and teased him all week, begging for some hints or details about what we would be doing. He wouldn't budge, not even for sexual favors.
Damn stubborn, beautiful man.
So, it was finally Saturday. Edward had left me in the morning with a searing goodbye kiss as he said he had to go get some things prepared and he would be back at 6 pm to pick me up. Rose and Alice came to pick me up around 10 am. Alice brought in a garment bag, she said was for later, before we drove off to the salon. Alice had ordered us the full treatments: hair styling, waxing, facials, manis and pedis, the works. I had to admit that it felt good to be pampered like that, everything except the waxing. Rose talked me into a Brazilian, saying it would make Edward hot.
"Owww, shit!" I blurted out when the wax was stripped off. That freaking hurt.
My inner bad girl started sticking me with a hot poker in retaliation. Bitch.
I showered before the hair stylist began on me. That was my last treatment for the day. Mitch, my stylist, was the most flamboyant man I had ever met. He kept us laughing like loons as he snipped and curled and fluffed. He told me how gorgeous and fine I was and that my man was so lucky. Then he wanted all the details on what Edward looked like. I gushed and he fanned himself as I revealed how Edward was the hottest man on earth.
"Honey, if you ever get tired of him, you give him my number. OK, sweets?" He joked to me and winked.
"Sure thing, Mitch. You will be the first to know if I let my Edward go." I teased him back. I was stunned when he finally turned me around to see my reflection in the mirror.
"Oh, thank you so much! How did you get my hair so shiny?" I asked him as I looked myself over. My hair fell perfectly down in gentle curls and waves. It looked terrific. I wanted to leave it down tonight since Edward preferred it that way.
"Trade secret, sweet thang." He tittered. He gave me his card and I promised him he would be the only man in Chicago, aside from Edward, to get their hands on my hair.
Mmmm…Edward's hands. I couldn't wait to get them on my hair…and other places.
We finally finished at the spa and returned home. Alice and Rose came up with me when we got back to my apartment around 5 pm. I didn't have very long until Edward would be there. Alice grabbed the garment bag as the three of us went upstairs to get me ready. I lovingly stroked the dark blue, silk dress that Alice pulled out. It was so beautiful with the spaghetti straps, tight bodice, and loose, flowing skirt that went down to just above my knee. Alice also pulled out some modestly high heels that actually felt comfortable when I put them on. I had warned her about stilettos and me not getting along. Alice and Rose then worked magic on my face, not using much makeup but just enhancing my natural features. My smoky eyes looked even larger than normal when I saw my reflection after they had finished.
As I stood to look at my final overall appearance in the floor length mirror, Alice came up to me carrying a large jewelry box with a note on top. She just smiled at me as she placed it in my hand. I opened the note and felt my eyes misting up.
My darling Bella,
When I informed my grandmother Cullen that I had met the love of my life, she absolutely insisted that I give you this necklace as a token of welcome to the family. This was hers and was a wedding gift she received from my grandfather. She wants you to have it and love it as she has done all these years. I can't wait to see you tonight.
Yours always,
Edward
I tried to keep myself from crying as I read the precious note. I had yet to meet either set of Edward's grandparents, but felt so overwhelmed by this gift. I opened the box and gasped. The platinum strand was encrusted with diamonds and sapphires and sparkled as it nested against the velvet.
"Don't you dare cry, Bella. You will ruin your makeup." Alice lightened up the atmosphere as she took the necklace and fastened it around my neck. I looked in the mirror at myself, my fingers gliding over the jewels. It was beautiful and a perfect match to my dress.
"You look so beautiful, Bella." Rose said with tears in her eyes as she and Alice stood there smiling at me. We finally all composed ourselves and went back downstairs so I could meet Edward. They said their goodbyes and told me to have fun on my date tonight. Alice turned around to me as Rose opened the door to leave.
"Bella, stick with only one glass of wine tonight. You will want to remember everything." She said as her eyes mischievously glistened.
What does that pixie know that I don't?
The girls were gone not even five minutes before the doorbell rang. I wondered who it could be because Edward surely wouldn't use the doorbell, would he?
Yes, he would.
I opened the door to find my beautiful man standing there in a tux. My knees went weak at the sight of him, he was just so gorgeous. I hardly noticed the bouquet of lilies and orchids in his hand because I couldn't pry my eyes away from his face. He grinned and bowed to me.
"Milady." He said as he walked in, grabbed my hand, and kissed my knuckles.
My inner bad girl fainted.
I finally found some words as I thanked him for the flowers and took them to put in some water. After they were arranged in the vase and placed on the dining room table, he grabbed my hand to hold as he pulled me to the door.
"Bella, you look radiant tonight. I so love that color on you." He said as he stared at me. He seemed to shake his head a little, as if to clear it, and pulled me close. "Are you ready, my love?" He asked.
"Yes." I really needed to find more words to explain to him how much this all meant to me. I was just overwhelmed still. He led me to the elevator and out through the lobby to a chauffeured limousine, keeping my hand in his as he helped me into the back. The chauffeur closed the door behind us as Edward scooted over the seat next to me. The energy between us was charged and I wanted nothing more than to kiss him senseless, but knew we would need to hold off until later for that, lest we rumple our spectacular clothes.
"So, where are we going?" I asked him, trying to ignore the way his eyes darkened as his fingers glided over my knee.
"We'll be there soon, beautiful." He said to me, leaning forward to inhale in my hair. He was so frustratingly distracting.
We pulled up soon to a large building. Edward helped me out and I looked up, realizing we were going to see the Chicago symphony orchestra. Could this man be any more romantic? I smiled at him as he held me close, guiding us inside. He led us to box seats and held my hand as the performance started. His thumb left tingling circles on my hand as he caressed me throughout the show. The music was wonderful and I closed my eyes to absorb each note. When I opened my eyes, I saw him staring at me, his lips parted slightly. I kissed him lightly as the music ended and we stood.
"Edward, that was beautiful. Thank you for bringing me here." I told him as he placed his hand on the small of my back to lead us back to the car.
"That's just the first stop, my love." My insides were alive with excitement.
Next, we arrived for dinner at Charlie Trotter's, a restaurant that was world-renowned. It was just perfect as our conversation flowed easily throughout the exquisite meal. I sipped my one glass of champagne, per Alice's instruction, as I watched Edward's eyes sparkle in the candlelight. When the server brought us dessert menus following dinner, Edward declined.
"That will be everything, thank you." He said to the server before turning to me. "We have dessert reserved for us at another spot." He said as his eyes stared into mine and he kissed my hand. We got back into the car and I recognized the final stop when we pulled up. We were at the marina where his boat was docked. As we walked down the dock, I could see lights flickering on his boat up ahead. The air seemed to sizzle in electricity as I felt anticipation in my stomach. However, it wasn't just electrical between the two of us, it also appeared that the sky wanted to show its excitement. Edward's eyes looked a little panicked as we heard the rumble of thunder in the distance and a far off flash of lightning in the atmosphere.
As Edward helped me board onto the deck, I looked around in amazement. There were candles flickering everywhere and music gently flowing from the cabin. I couldn't believe my beautiful man had arranged this. It was so incredible.
"Bella, you are absolutely breathtaking. I know I have told you many times before, but I must tell you again that you are the most beautiful woman in the world." He said, holding both of my hands in his.
The thunder and lightning appeared closer as I leaned into him, hugging him around the waist.
"Edward, this night has just been perfect. I don't even have the words to describe the feelings running through me right now." I told him before standing on my toes to kiss him deeply. He started swaying, with his arms around my waist, in time to the music playing around us. I had never been much of a dancer, yet being in Edward's arms felt so right. I actually felt graceful and elegant as he led me in a dance around the deck.
The thunder roared above us again and I saw Edward look up in aggravation. I didn't want his attention on the weather, I wanted it on me. I placed my hands around his neck, averting his gaze back to my face. I pulled him down and we kissed until I felt the fire in my abdomen travel throughout my body. We both pulled back for a second, taking a breath from our overpowering kiss, and looking into each others' eyes.
Suddenly, the skies opened and it started pouring rain. We both stood there, seemingly paralyzed by the shock of the downpour. We were drenched head to foot in seconds and then Edward cursed and pulled my hand to try and take me into the cabin. I wouldn't let him move. I tugged back on his hand, keeping him there as I just exploded in laughter. It was perfect really. The rain kept coming down and I spun in circles, raising my face to the sky to feel the cool water in the warm air. I kept laughing and opened my eyes back to him and beamed my smile to let him know everything was alright. He smiled back at me, chuckling to himself.
"You are so beautiful, love." He said as he grabbed hold of my waist.
He twirled me around, both of us laughing as the rain continued to pour down on us. When he looked down at me with a smile on his beautiful face, his hair dark as water droplets fell from the ends, I felt like my heart was going to burst from the love I felt for him. He stopped our dance, still looking into my eyes.
"Bella." He said softly. He leaned down and kissed me gently. His arms fell from my waist as he grabbed my hands to hold in his. That's when he dropped down to one knee, as lightning flashed across the sky.
My breathing hitched as he pulled out the small, black box from his pocket.

Today was the day. I was going to ask my Bella to be my wife. I wanted everything to be absolutely perfect for her. After leaving her breathless from a kiss, I took off to meet with Jasper, who had the items I requested from Alice for tonight. As I was driving, I reflected back over the past week. Every day with Bella, I seemed I fell more in love with her.
After spending last weekend romancing her, I met with Emmett and Rosalie Monday evening. I remembered being so nervous when I rang the doorbell.
"Hello, Edward. Come on in." Rose said when she opened the door. She smiled at me and I think she knew why I was there. We moved to the living room where Emmett was sitting on the couch and Rose asked if I wanted a drink. I nodded and said anything was fine and she went to the kitchen to bring back three beers for us.
"So, what's up, Edward?" Em asked with a suspicious look on his face.
"Well, I came here to tell you…or ask you, well, let you know really…" shit, I was flubbing this shit up royally. I took a deep breath, "I want to ask Bella to marry me." I said and kept watch over their faces for their reactions. I saw Rose's hand lift to cover her mouth as tears sprung to her eyes. Em's face remained a blank slate.
"Emmett, I know this is sudden." I continued on. "But, I have to tell you that I love Bella with all my heart. I really do. I would do anything for her. All I want to do is take care of her and make her happy for the rest of her life. Please give us your blessing." My voice broke as I implored him to understand. I was trying to contain the emotions I was feeling. The bottom line was that I was going to ask her to marry me, whether he gave his blessing or not, but it would be much more joyful for her if he did.
I saw Rose's hand reach over to grab hold of his and squeeze. He looked over to her and she smiled at him tearfully, nodding her head. I heard him sigh as his head bowed, leaning forward as if conflicted. I waited for him to speak, breathing shallowly. He finally looked up at me and nodded.
"Go ahead and ask her, Edward. I know she loves you and you love her." I breathed out a sigh of relief and smiled. He lifted a small smile in return and added, "If you know what's good for you, you won't make me regret this." But, his threat held no meaning for me. I would never hurt my Bella. I stood up as he did and shook his hand. I turned to Rose and she grabbed me in a hug.
"Good luck." She said softly.
I had passed the test. I had the approval of Bella's family.
The next few days went by in a blur. I was on the phone with Alice and Jasper any chance I could to discuss my plans for Saturday night. I was on cloud nine all week thinking about my angel with the ring on her finger. There was only one blemish to my euphoria. My mother called me on Thursday morning to tell me that Tanya had accosted Bella the day before in the hospital. It had been so nice to see Bella there with my mom, playing with the kids. I couldn't keep the smile off my face the entire time she was there. Then I find out that Tanya pushed her. Well, I wasn't having that. After my mom called, I stewed over it for a while, trying to keep my emotions stable enough to not throttle Tanya. No matter what, I wouldn't physically harm a female, but I sure as hell would do it verbally. Soon enough, she was slinking up to me, doing her usual routine of batting her eyelashes, pressing her chest against me, bending over in front of me, etc.
Could she be anymore slutty?
I had enough. I waited until we were alone in the hallway and leaned in close to her. I saw her start to smile and get excited thinking I wanted her. Um, delusional much?
"Tanya, I heard that you pushed my girlfriend yesterday." Her eyes widened as she heard the snarl in my voice. "If you so much as breathe in Bella's direction again, I will have you fired." I told her in a low, threatening voice. I wasn't sure that it was possible to get her fired for that, but I wanted to make myself clear. "Just take care of your patients and start acting professional. I have never and will never have any interest in you or anyone else aside from Bella." Then, I turned and strode off before I did strangle her.
I could barely sleep on Friday night, tossing and turning, my mind excited for what the next day would bring. I got up on Saturday, deciding not to disturb Bella as she slept, untangling my arms from around her and going down to throw together some toast and tea for my sleeping beauty. After I had her set up with breakfast in bed, I took a shower and got dressed. I was happy she was going out with Alice and Rose all day. It kept me focused on my task when I knew she was happily occupied. I did give her a blazing kiss before I left, that jolted my system with enough energy to tide me over until tonight. I headed over to Jasper's, calling Alice on my way to make sure she had the dress and the necklace.
"Do you even need to ask me that?" She replied sarcastically. Damn pixie always thought she was right. Well, she usually was.
"Sorry, my darling sister. I will never doubt you again. Are you on your way to pick her up?" I asked.
"Yes, brother dear. Everything will be perfect. Just don't throw Jasper in the lake, please." Alice knew me too well.
"I will try to control myself. Bye and thanks!" I said before hanging up.
I got to their house and walked right on in. Jasper was sitting on a barstool next to the kitchen counter in his boxers, eating cereal and watching cartoons on a mini-TV. I shook my head at him.
"Get up, loser. We have stuff to do." I said as I walked over to him. He just shrugged at me.
"There's plenty of time. Ya'll need to chill out. Alice acted like she took some speed this morning, with all her bouncin' round and whatnot." Did he not realize this was the most important night of my life?
"Did Alice leave the address of the tailor where I am picking up my tux for tonight?" He rolled his eyes at me and pointed at a piece of paper on the counter. OK, good. I need to go get that from the tailor ASAP. Jasper just smirked at me as I was internally monologuing. I wanted to slap him upside the head.
"What about the other stuff?" I said through my gritted teeth, waiting for him to finish his damn Cocoa Puffs.
"What other stuff?" He asked. What does he mean? Is it not here? Fuck! What am I going to do? My hands went straight to my hair, tugging in frustration. Then, I heard him laughing. I looked over at him holding his stomach, almost in tears.
"I'm just fucking with you, you OCD fool." He gasped out through his laughter. Bastard. I can't believe I promised Alice I wouldn't throw him in the lake. He calmed down while I glared at him. "It's over in the bags by the door, Doucheward." Yeah, he's going in the lake.
I walked over and looked in the bags. I knew Alice would have everything I wanted, but it never hurt to double check. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. That all went to hell when I heard him chuckling at something on Nickelodeon or some shit.
"Would you please get your ass up and get dressed? We need to get out of here." I yelled at him.
"Fine, fine." I heard him say as he stood up and stretched. "Can't a guy enjoy some Saturday morning cartoons?" He said to himself. I growled at him.
We finally were loaded up and heading to the tailor's 30 minutes later. We had to take two cars because I was leaving my car at the marina to use in the morning. We picked up the suit and then went to a trendy, local dessert bar. I had made arrangements with them earlier in the week to pick up some prepared crème brulee. All I would have to do was apply the fire. They even hooked me up with my own little cooking torch. Jasper asked me if he could play with it. I told him hell no. The next stop was the marina. I brought the dessert and Jasper carried the supplies and we walked down the dock to my boat. I set the dessert up in the fridge and then started placing decorative candles at strategic places around the deck. I set up an ipod dock and put my ipod on there all ready to go with my planned playlist. I took the clothes Alice had packed into the master bedroom and put them on the bureau. I left a couple candle lighters in plain sight for Alice and Jasper who were going to get everything lit while Bella and I were at dinner. I set up the small table and chairs on one side of the deck and placed a tablecloth, flowers and more candles on it. I took a deep breath and kept turning around, looking at everything from every angle, wondering if it looked good and if I was forgetting anything. I heard a snort and looked over at Jasper shaking his head.
"Dude, would you quit worrying? She's going to love it." He said.
"I just want it to be perfect for her. I'm only going to do this once." I explained.
"What are you going to do if it rains?" Fuck. Did he really have to bring that up? Does he want me to panic? This was going to be so romantic and perfect for my Bella. It couldn't rain.
"What are you going to do if I throw you over the rail?" I asked him grumpily. He just laughed as I obsessed a little more over the placement of everything. We finally got off the boat and I jumped into Jasper's car with him. We had one more stop. I went by the florist and picked up the arrangement I had ordered for Bella with her favorite flowers, lilies and orchids.
We got back to their house around 4:30 which gave me an hour to get ready before the car arrived. I jumped in the shower in the guest bath and then got dressed in my tux. I tried to tame my hair, but was having no luck.
Bella seemed to like it messy anyway.
I took a final look in the mirror and had to admit, I looked pretty sharp in the tux. I just hoped Bella would approve. I checked my pocket for the ring. Grabbed my wallet and the flowers and waited for the car to arrive. I wanted all my attention on my love tonight, so I got a chauffeur. I was pacing near the front door waiting, when Jazz stopped me and handed me a shot.
"Drink it. You are driving yourself and me both crazy. No telling what kind of nerves you are going to unleash on Miss Bella." I swallowed it down and blew out a gust of air as it burned down my throat. Jasper gave me a breath mint to hide the smell of liquor.
"There, now relax. Your car is outside." I started moving toward the door before Jasper grabbed me and gave me a hug. "I love you, man. Good luck tonight. Everything is going to be great." I smiled at him and slapped his back in thanks. I waved as I turned to walk out to the car. I got into the car after informing the driver of the destinations tonight and we left to pick up Bella.
She looked so beautiful when she opened the door. I wanted to kiss her, but kept back because I knew that she had spent so much time getting ready that day. The way the blue dress perfectly complemented her skin made my mouth water. It was going to be hard for me to control my hands all night.
This is her perfect night. Don't be a schmuck. Be a gentleman.
I sat next to her, as close as I could, in the limousine and just breathed in her scent. It calmed me. Our first stop was the symphony. I knew Bella had never been before and I also knew she loved music. I stared in awe of her beauty as she closed her eyes, experiencing the music around her. I kept my eyes on her for the entire concert. She was much more fascinating to me than the orchestra.
Next, I took her out to a five-star restaurant. I wanted to wine and dine her and she deserved the best. The meal was terrific, but the intimate atmosphere was even better. I loved watching her eyes as she enjoyed herself. I kissed her hand as I told her we were having dessert elsewhere. I felt the familiar tingle as my lips touched her skin.
As we neared the marina, my heart was starting to beat rapidly. I wasn't nervous at all about wanting Bella to be my wife, I was only nervous that she wouldn't be ready to say yes. As we neared the boat, I cursed Jasper and his jinx as I heard the thunder and saw the lightning in the distance. I decided I better ask her before dessert because the rain may not hold off that long.
I saw that Alice and Jasper had completed their mission as the lights of the candles flickered around the deck. Bella's eyes widened in surprise when she saw the deck and heard the music. She was so breathtaking and I told her so. She hugged and thanked me for the night before we started swaying to the music. The thunder and lightning seemed to be closing in and I looked up aggravated.
Should I ask her now? Should I try to sneak dessert in before I ask? Do I need to romance her more?
She brought me out of my thoughts when I felt her hands on my neck, initiating a kiss that set my groin on fire. Then, the rain came pouring down.
"Fuck!" I shouted as I tried to pull her inside, despite the fact that we were both already drenched. I felt her tug my hand back to keep me still. Then she raised her face to the sky, seeming to enjoy the feel of the rain pouring down on her as she spun in circles. I chuckled to myself, just watching her.
"You are so beautiful, love." I said as I grabbed her waist. I proceeded to twirl around the deck with her, laughing along with her. I was mad because I thought the night had been ruined, but she knew exactly what to do to lift that weight. I had never felt so carefree. There wasn't a woman in the world more perfect for me than her. I had to ask her. It was time.
"Bella." I said, grabbing her hands, and looking into her eyes. Please love me like I love you, beautiful girl. I dropped down to one knee in front of her, pulled out the small velvet box, opened it, and placed it in her hand.
"Bella, my love. Every day I spend with you makes me fall in love with you even more. I can't thank God enough for bringing you into my life. I never believed in fate until I saw you crossing the lobby for that elevator and I knew with every cell in my body I had to get to you before those doors closed." She smiled at me through her tears. "I love you more than anything and I promise to love you and cherish you for the rest of my life. Isabella Marie Swan, will you marry me?"
"Yes!" She sobbed. "Yes, my Edward, I will marry you. I love you so much." She was trembling with emotion as the tears ran down her face along with the rain. I slid the ring on her finger, her hand shaking, and she smiled at the perfect fit. The pixie strikes again.
"It was my grandmother Masen's engagement ring. I hope you like it." I told her.
"I love it, Edward. It's perfect." I heard her say right before she fell into my arms. Her hands were attached around my neck as her lips attacked mine. We were both kneeling at this point, facing each other. The candles had all been drowned out by the rain, which was continuing to pour. The only light on the deck was the glow from the illuminated cabin. Bella's arms were around me tight, as she was pouring everything into her passionate kisses. My cock was straining against my pants as Bella pressed herself as close to me as possible. I wanted to plunge into her right there on the deck, but realized she probably would like to be in out of the rain.
"Baby, let's go inside and dry off a little." I told her as I broke from her lips to kiss her neck.
"No. I want you right here, Edward. Please, right now. I need you." She pled with me. Well, I wasn't going to argue. We were both drenched, so it took a little bit of maneuvering to get our clothes off. The wet silk was clinging to her skin and I heard it tear a little as we rushed. Alice is going to have my ass over ruining her clothes. Oh well. I hovered over her, looking at her beautiful body wearing only her new necklace and ring, the rain drops falling all over. I leaned down, placing soft kisses along her jaw line and down her neck.
"I love you, Bella."
"I love you, Edward."
I pushed into her, both of us reveling in the feeling of completeness when I filled her. Our mouths stayed connected as our bodies danced together, slowly building intensity. We kept a moderate rhythm, just enjoying our powerful bond. I couldn't hold back any longer before I had to tell her what I was feeling.
"Bella, you feel so good. You are so perfect for me." I started grinding my hips with each thrust, wanting her to have enough friction to find her release.
"I love you, Edward. I love you inside me." She gasped, getting close to her climax. I kissed her neck as I continued moving deeply inside her. I felt her coming even before I heard her. I heard her scream my name as her walls tightened on me. I found my own release seconds later.
The rain continued to fall on us as we lay there recovering. I finally lifted myself off of her and pulled her up. I needed to get her inside and dry before she got sick. We walked our naked, wet selves into the bedroom, leaving our clothes scattered about the deck. I grabbed a couple towels, using one to slowly rub over her body, drying every inch, while giving her another towel for her hair. My eyes about popped out of my head as I rubbed the towel over her bare pussy.
"Baby, you're bare!" I was surprised as hell. She blushed and nodded.
"Yes, I got a wax today. You like?" Did I like? Is the drool not enough of an indicator? I picked her up by her thighs, placing her on the bed as I threw her legs over my shoulders so I could investigate more closely. My face lowered so I could nuzzle my nose on her newly bare skin and breathe in her intoxicating aroma. She squealed.
"Edward, you are still all wet!" I laughed at her.
"That's supposed to be my line." I teased as I grinned up at her. Jesus, I sound about as mature as Jasper. "Sorry, baby. Let me dry off a little and I will be right back with you." I dried myself off and looked at her. She laid there spread out on the bed, her eyes shining with happiness as she held her hand up to the light, watching her ring sparkle.
"Are you happy, love?" I asked her. She looked over at me smiling.
"Edward, I've never been so happy in my life. I'm going to be Bella Cullen." My stomach jumped in excitement as those words left her lips. "Thank you for the most perfect night. I couldn't even have dreamed of a night as perfect as this has been." She told me. The feelings I had at that moment almost brought me to my knees. How did she know to say exactly what I needed to hear? She got up and walked over to me, kissing me sweetly, pulling my hands to follow her to the bed. She pushed me down until I was lying with my head on the pillow. She saw my cock was ready to go again and straddled me to take me in.
We didn't have the crème brulee until breakfast.
