Chapter 16: Unusual
Stepping out of the room was simple enough for the female arrancar that was ordered to tell her feelings. When she did, would she be able to tell him? Shaking her head, knowing the possible answer to the question, she walked down the hallway so she could lock herself up in her room.
"How can I say something that is so personal?" She questioned to herself in a whisper as she made her way down the hallway. As she thought of how he would react, she felt her gaze intensify to a glare. It was stupid to think of something like that, she thought as she threw open the door and got inside.
Slamming it shut, the brunette haired arrancar flopped down on the circular bed and purred in delight. Being enveloped by softness calmed the woman's thoughts but barely. They still raged in her mind, making her concerned. She shouldn't care if he had feelings for her. Maybe she should but she shouldn't have a heart since that was one thing that a hollow lacks.
"This sucks." She grumbled and buried her face in her pillows. If she could sleep, then maybe she can forget about the situation that Madoka had laid on her. It was almost stupid to fall for an espada who did act like he didn't have a heart. It was better if she fell for Coyote then maybe she can sleep all the time like he tried.
Smirking into the softness of the pillows, she moved her head to get a breath of fresh air. "Maybe Madoka-hime is trying to mean well when she knows it's impossible to do something like this. Ugh, why does this have to be so confusing?"
"What being confusing Chibi?" Grimmjow's voice rang out in the room, causing the smaller arrancar to sit up and look around. Her gaze didn't take his figure in until the curtain was pulled away, showing the door was thrown open and the sexta espada standing there with his hands in his pockets.
"How did you get in here Grimmi-Grimmjow?" She asked, wishing to call him her nickname that he was given. Lowering her gaze at the covers that were on her bed, she shook her head to keep the words from Madoka out of her head. Gripping some of it, squeezing the fabric, she looked back at the blue haired espada that was in her room.
"I let myself in of course." The male arrancar stated and slammed the door shut behind him. If Tôsen found out about what he was planning then he'll surely die. Growling at the thought of the blind shinigami, he crossed the room and stood at the bedside of the arrancar that was watching him like a cat with a bird, he smiled. "I have something that might sound interesting to you."
Tora's eyebrow rose at the statement that came from the espada that usually pounded her into the wall for what she used to be like to him. Lowering her gaze to the covers again, she had a feeling it might not mean a good thing to her. It interested her since it was coming from him but it also scared her.
Looking back at the man that was in the room, she tried to smile but it was hard. With every gaze that was on the man, those words that came from her master rang in her head, trying to get her to do it. She had to tell him how she truly felt toward him, but it scared her how he would react. He might kill her for saying those words. "Grimmjow I — never mind."
Blinking as an eyebrow rose at the feline arrancar, he had that urge to touch her to see if she was feeling all right. Growling, hoping that she would think it was about Tôsen, he couldn't rely on those weak feelings. They only gave people trouble. He tried to convince himself of that last night but it barely helped. "What do you say Chibi? Or are you going to be a good cat for that shinigami of yours?"
Hissing at the man that was in the room besides herself, Tora turned her attention at the man. "Don't talk like Madoka-hime is a pest of some kind. You know as well as I do she could kill you and I if she wanted."
Rolling his light blue eyes, Grimmjow lowered his face into hers. Watching her reaction as she tried to move away, something told him that there was something bothering her. He wasn't sure what it was though. Blinking, he pulled away to stare at the unusually acting arrancar. "Do you want to see what the world of the living looks like?"
Hearing the world that she heard tales about from Gin and Madoka, she wondered why he would want to bring up that place. "Why? What are you planning on doing Grimmjow?"
A smile graced his face and it scared Tora. It was that same smile that told her that he was hungry for carnage and thirsty for blood being spilled. Putting his face back down to her height, that smile was still on his face as he explained, "simple. Ulquiorra was too soft on the people that are a threat to Aizen's little mission that he has. So since that espada decided that they were too weak, but I think they weren't."
"So you're saying that they had an off day?" Tora asked as she got out of the bed. Looking around her room, wishing those words that were orders from Madoka didn't play in her mind, she looked back at the sexta espada that was explaining everything to her.
"Are you stupid too? Come with me to the world of the living and eliminate these idiots that he thought weren't a problem. They're a problem. Everyone's a problem."
Looking at her feet, wondering if it's a right thing to go to the world that was so unknown to her, she sighed. It sounded nice since it was a change of scenery for the arrancar. Looking back up at the blue haired man that was standing in her room – waiting for her answer – she smiled a little. "Sounds nice."
Grimmjow's smile softened a bit. It was almost like the arrancar woman was changing in front of him. Compared to who she used to be when he first got to know her, it seemed like she was finally maturing. Nodding, he walked out of the room, and noticed that she was following. It was almost like she was one of his fracciónes. Now he had to get them on the same page. "I'll meet you at my palace. I have things to do first."
Nodding, Tora turned off to walk away from him. As she took her time to get down to the hall that would lead outside, she noticed something was ahead. As she got closer to the exit, she noticed the person getting closer and closer. It was Madoka.
"Tora-chan! Why are you in this part of the palace?" Madoka questioned as she took hold of her subordinate's hands. Shaking them, she smiled. "You're going to Grimmjow's, aren't you?"
Even though she had a faint feeling that it was a different type of question of what her master was adding, the female arrancar nodded. It was better to agree then raise suspicions that might get them killed later. "I . . . am."
"Aw that is so adorable. Make sure he doesn't get too rough. Okay?" Madoka said as she patted her friend on the shoulder and walked away. It was almost like the plan that she didn't really have together was already unfolding to her liking.
Blinking, the brunette haired arrancar stood there as she took in the meaning of her friend's words. Looking back as she still continued to blink, watching her master's retreating figure, she stopped blinking. "But-but we're not doing that-that."
She marched on and tried to get away from that feeling that made her blush at the thoughts. She shouldn't think of something like that with the guy that could kill her. Stepping inside the building that was his, Tora looked around. It was big but lacked character. As she tried to find his spirit energy, she walked around the room she was in, looking around for anything that can pass the time. The only thing that was interesting was a hollow that was like a cat curled up on a pillow.
"Are you ready?" His voice rang out along with the door closing behind him. Seeing her perk up from his pet, he smirked a little. It was almost cute watching her act like she was in trouble. Dropping those feelings that would drive him insane, Grimmjow walked over to the woman that was staring at him. "Are you ready to go Tora?"
She nodded and followed after him as he left the room. Where were they heading, she wondered as she looked around. What would the world of the living be like? What type of things would she see while she was there? All those questions, and more, ran through her mind. It caused her to get excited about the trip that was so new to her. "Grimmjow what's it like there?"
"How the hell should I know? I've never been there." He stated and opened a garganta that was almost like a bottomless pit. Looking back at the female arrancar, he smiled once more. "I'm going to ask you once more. Are you ready to do this or do you want to stay here and be defenseless?"
It was odd that he was asking her that but she met his gaze. "Let's go. Stop stalling. I think you're the one that's scared of the fact that we're going to somewhere that we've never been to before."
He snorted and stepped into the darkness. As he strolled, he heard her following after him as the sound of footsteps echoed around them. Feeling the reishi around him almost rage violently, he smiled. It just added to the mood of the bloodshed that was coming.
Tora blinked and grabbed a hold of his jacket, ignoring the stare that it earned, and followed after him. A bit of fear was holding her throat, trying to close it, but it barely worked. She had to be strong and didn't acknowledge fear if she was going to be around Grimmjow. Even if she wondered what Madoka would do if she found out that she never told the sexta espada how she truly felt about him.
It was silent so it seemed like the trip to the unknown place was quick. When they stepped out into the world that was so new to her, she looked around. It was almost crowded to her with buildings touching each other almost. "So this is the world of the living?"
Nothing answered her question as her verde gaze flickered around her as she turned. As she took a breath, something caused her to stop. Whatever it was, it made her mouth water at the aroma that it was giving. "Grimmie-kun I smell something good. I wonder what it is."
"I don't care. Go find out." Grimmjow grumbled as he sat down on some random building. Looking around, noticing a few spirit energies already, he rolled his eyes. Ulquiorra was a joke when it came to saying they were nothing. Even about the kid that Aizen seemed worried about.
Walking away, the feline arrancar took in other aromas that were almost as delicious as the one that she first noticed. Why did it smell so tempting to her? Purring almost, she walked down to the ground as the smell seemed to intensify. "Whatever you are, you smell mighty good to me."
Looking around, the female arrancar headed down an alley and found what was smelling so good. A couple of people were sitting at a hut where the smell was coming from. Walking up to it, she peeked in and saw legs and wings frying up with a certain rub being put on it. Raising an eyebrow, she looked at it closer.
"One order of two wings." Someone stated and watched as a few were handed to someone. What were they called?
Backing away, the lone arrancar walked around, taking in the new smells that were offered by the world of the living. Maybe if she could, she could live there and experience every kind of food. She highly doubted that since she wasn't supposed to exist like this. As the brunette haired arrancar looked around, something caught her attention, scaring her a bit. Even if she wasn't supposed to follow whatever it was, she did anyway.
Poking her head around the corner, she continued to follow even if waves of spiritual pressure were around her. Looking around, trying to figure out who was battling around her, the long-haired woman found nothing. "What the hell is going on?"
"This is surprising." A voice called out, scaring her a little. As the woman turned to look at the person, she found someone standing there. As they stared back at her – clearly able to see her – she blinked. Waves of spiritual pressure radiated off them, almost engulfing her with fear.
Even if she fought with Grimmjow and Madoka, this wasn't the same thing. These people didn't know when to let up or back down from the fight. They can kill her because she was the threat that they knew about possibly. Getting away, Tora looked back at the person. They weren't giving chase so that meant they weren't that interested in a fight.
Looking around, she opened another garganta and stepped in. It scared her of what the world of the living offered. The company that Madoka, Gin and the others used to work for knew what he was planning. They knew that Aizen was planning something and sent forces to the world of the living in case. That had to be it. They were weary of what they were going to do.
"Dammit." She cursed as she stepped back into Hueco Mundo. Looking around the darkness, she felt weak. Grimmjow wouldn't be happy about this, neither will the others.
Longer chapter, I'm happy. Worked on this for two days since I about fell asleep watching Bleach on Saturday. Still loving the Unknown Zanpaku-to Tales arc even if it's a filler. So far since I started watching Bleach, it's my favorite filler by far. Except the beach episode. Please review and ignore my little rant.
