Chapter 18: Skirmish

As pain flared in her back, something stirred inside her. It was that demon that she was. The side that wanted to spill blood since someone had attacked her. Hearing a growl rumble through her chest, a warning for the person that she wasn't to be taken lightly, she spun around.

That urge to kill whoever harmed her fell from her body as she stared at the person that done it. It was almost like he went through hell compared to her. His chest was bound by bandages were spotted by blood while she could clearly see that he was missing his arm. Raising an eyebrow, she shook her head at the question she wanted to ask the sexta espada that attacked her.

"This isn't the Chibi I know. The Chibi I know would be bounding around and doing whatever that shinigami wanted her to do." Grimmjow hissed as he took a step toward the arrancar woman.

"Madoka-hime hates me so why should that matter. She'll never think of me as her subordinate anymore." Tora argued as she took a step back. The farther she got from him, the better for her to evade his attacks.

"That damn shinigami still gives a shit about you so don't have a little cow over her attitude toward you. She just gives a damn that you did something that wasn't orders." The blue haired man stated as he took two more steps toward the woman that was worried about everything. Rolling his eyes, he continued to go toward her until she ran into one of the trees that were in the area.

"She hates me! It's as simple as that!" The arrancar woman shouted into the night air. Looking at the man, she blinked. "She hates me because I went along with you. She hates me because I did what I've done. Luckily Aizen-sama thought it was a way of showing how loyal I was to them."

"That's a bunch of shit." Grimmjow hissed as he grabbed a hold of her wrist. Tossing her into the sand, he glared down at her. "Aizen doesn't give a shit about us. We're just fucking pawns in this little game he has going on. We just don't know it because we're stupid to believe in everything he says. That's it."

Tora started to pick herself up but was pushed down into the sand again. Growling, the resurrección form of the female looked over her shoulder the best she could. He had a point but also, he didn't. Shaking her head as she was forced back into the sand when she tried to get back up, her ears took in a chuckle. "What's so funny Grimmie-kun?"

That little nickname that had a ring to it made the sexta espada look down at the arrancar that was under his foot. With a small smile he bent down and grabbed a hold of the corset that hide her features from him. "What's wrong is you being like this. Get into the Chibi I know or I'm gonna kill you. You have two seconds!"

Glaring at the man, she ran her bare foot up onto his chin, pushing the wounded espada back. Growling in annoyance, but finally free, she steadied herself on her feet.

"Now this is the Chibi I know. That look in your eyes is the same as before that damn mission! I like it but will you be able to withstand the brutality I'm going to put you through." He wondered as he smiled. Rushing up at the woman with sonido, that smile didn't leave his face. It reminded her of who he was, who he can be if he was pushed far enough. He, like her and others, was just animals that would react like animals cornered if pushed far enough. "Don't act like you're nothing! I'll kill you! You don't want that do you?"

Reaching to grasp his throat in her clawed hand, she missed him by a second or so. A gasp escaped her as something hard landed on her stomach, knocking all the breath out of her body. When she landed in the sand, she blinked as she coughed, trying to regain that breath. Looking up, the verde eyes widened at the sight that was before her.

Grabbing a hold of her face, he hoisted the arrancar up into the air. Smiling, seeing the fear in the verde eyes like they used to be, he tossed her into the building that was closest to them.

"What the . . . hell is wrong with you?" She screamed with a cough in between. Picking herself off the building that had a good size dent in it from the toss, she looked at the man that was walking toward her. Tora continued to cough as the feeling of her body aching consumed her.

"Get you back to the way you used to be." He answered once he was a few feet away from her. Glaring down at the female arrancar that was bleeding from her back and a few cuts from the building, he smiled a little.

"Why?"

Nothing answered her but another grab of her corset. Being tossed into the building again, she laid broken on the floor. Fear consumed her as she heard the sound of fabric ripping. Looking up, the brunette haired woman watched as Grimmjow stood over her, gripping her as his hand trailed up her back. Pain that was going through her body didn't dull for a second as his nails raced up her back, ripping the fabric that covered her.

"The Chibi I know and loved to fight with doesn't mope around because of something like that. The Chibi I know would fight even if she was consumed by something as pitifully as fear, pain, and other emotions." Grimmjow reminded as he inched his face toward her bruising one. Narrowing his eyes, the light blue eyed espada smiled a little. "Where's that Chibi I know?"

"I'm right here." She whispered as her resurrección form fell from her body, revealing her back bare while the cloth barely hanging onto her torso. Blood dripped from her ankles and feet as he pulled her up into the air. Blinking slowly, hearing the clang that came from her zanpaku-to hitting the floor, Tora bowed her head. "I submit."

"Baka!" He screamed as loud as he could. Tossing her down the hall, he walked toward her. "Tora would never submit. She'll continue to fight until there was nothing left of her. You are not the Tora I know." That urge to add more words that spoke of weakness wanted to form on his lips so he could tell but he bit them back.

Looking up at the man that's walking toward her, the feline arrancar picked herself up. Leaning against the wall, the words that he spoke echoed in her mind. Instead of the nickname he had given her because of her height, he spoke her name. Looking into the azure eyes of his, she blinked as the feeling of being lightheaded consumed her. "Grimmie —"

Stepping over, Grimmjow caught the limp form of the woman's body. Smiling a little, seeing that she didn't look conflicted over what happened. It made him almost happy that she was back to normal. Tossing the limp body into the air, he set her on his shoulder and carried her to the room that was hers. "Finally."

Blinking and opening the door, he tossed the bleeding arrancar onto the snow white bed. Looking at her, he swore that feeling that made him see her in a new light started to raise its head but he didn't let it get far. It annoyed him that he was feeling like this toward the smaller arrancar that was inferior to him. "Ichimaru!"

A hum answered him, telling him that the silver haired man was listening. "Send a medic to Tora's room."

"All right."

Nothing answered him after that. Sitting down in one of the chairs, he kept his gaze on the woman that was passed out on the bed. As the sheets turned crimson from the blood that he caused to spill, he shook his head.

The sound of the door opening didn't cause him from looking at the woman that was causing him to feel differently compared to normal. As the medic healed her, Grimmjow kept his light blue eyes on them. It was almost like he didn't like the person healing her. Almost like he was afraid that they would harm her any farther even if he did the damage to her.

Shaking his head and closing his eyes, the sexta espada leaned back in the chair.

"It's complete sir." The male arrancar said and left the room.

Glancing around, the espada caught Tora looking at him, seeing a goofy little smile on her face. Rolling his eyes, seeing her watch his every step.

"I'm surprised you stayed here." She stated finally as the smile fell from her lips. Her gaze dipped from the arrancar that outranked her to the sheets that were stained by the essence of life. Looking back at the man that was starting toward her, she gripped the sheets that were once clean.

"I'm not stupid." Grimmjow stated as he finished getting over to the unusual bed. "I didn't want you to die. I wouldn't have anymore fun if I did."

She snickered and got out of bed, a bit wobbly from the lack of blood. Standing in front of the man the best she could, the female arrancar looked up at him. "Thank you Grimmjow."

"What's that nickname you call me every now and then? I'm curious because for all I know you could be calling me shithead." The sexta espada inquired with a tilt to his head. As his eyes trailed down the once broken body, seeing where the wounds he gave her were now scars, he felt something different. It was almost remorse for doing something like that to her.

"Grimmie-kun." Tora answered softly, watching for any reaction that might cause her to run. The feeling of him hating the name scared her but it didn't scare her as badly as how she was treated that day by Madoka. Biting her lip and feeling nothing of the weight of her sword on her back, Tora glanced around for the blade that was hers. "Where's my zanpaku-to?"

"Probably still laying outside. Maybe." Grimmjow replied and watched her closely. He expected her to pass out again so her body can regain its strength but she hadn't done it yet.

Tora nodded and looked at the light azure eyes that were the same color as his hair. Smirking, she jumped up, pressing her lips against his. It was the only time she thought would work at saying how she truly felt about the sixth ranked espada.

Love! Also it didn't really go the way I had it planned out. Instead of Tora getting tossed around everywhere, I had it in the outline that she actually defends against him. It sounds better this way to me though. How about you? Please review and tell me.
