Chapter 23: Revenge

"If only." Madoka hissed to herself as she raced down the hall toward Tora's room. That sick feeling in her stomach made her want to check on her subordinate. It had to be that feeling that was around Grimmjow ever since he got his title back. Shaking her head, feeling the touch of her hair, the female shinigami skidded to a stop at the door.

Throwing it open, seeing the strips of cloth that was once clothing, Madoka turned to look down the hall. She hoped that she could find Grimmjow's spirit energy then she'll kill him. He didn't deserve to have Tora if this was the way he was going to treat her. "Dammit."

Throwing the door close, the white-haired woman raced down the hall to check outside. He had to be going back out to his palace. Throwing that door open and escaping into the sand, Madoka smiled. "Jaegerjaques!"

Madoka didn't get any movement from him as he walked away. Narrowing her eyes and unsheathing her sword, a growl raced through her. "Fly Usagi. Kill him."

Grasping the rod that made up her scythe, Madoka ran after the man and threw the blade at him. He disappeared from where he once was with his body turned to face her. "Why the hell would you do that to her? Actually I don't want an answer because you're a dead man."

Grimmjow dodged the blade that was thrown at him and started to unsheathe his. Using the blade to block another attack that was directed to his neck, he narrowed his own eyes. It was just the beast that wanted to do that to her. It had to be. Shaking his head to keep his mind clear so he wouldn't screw up, the sexta espada jumped to avoid the blade.

"Answer me dammit! Why would you attack Tora-chan like that!" Madoka screamed into the still air of Hueco Mundo. Shaking her head, seeing the broken arrancar lying on the bed as the curtain was pulled to hide her, pain flared through her body. "Answer me Jaegerjaques!"

"It wasn't me but at the same time it was me." Grimmjow replied and dodged another attack that was aimed at him. Seeing her tears well up into the sapphire eyes, he wasn't sure why women cried so easily. Shaking his head, remembering the verde eyes that were watered down, he hissed.

"That's not a good excuse!" The female shinigami shouted as she dropped her blade and ran at him to do damage since her blade couldn't. A foot step away with a fist pulled back, she was stopped by something. Looking around, she saw a blurred image of Gin and shook her head. "He hurt Tora-chan. No one should have hurt her like that! Kitsune-kun."

His own gaze fell down at the broken woman that was turning to hide her face in his chest. Wrapping his arms around her torso, the male shinigami's gaze turned to look at the espada that was putting away his weapon. He – like Aizen and Tôsen – weren't happy about this happening. "Tonight we'll be discussing this."

Grimmjow turned his back to the silver haired man. It didn't concern him since it would only end in death to him. Tôsen hated him because of how he was so that didn't matter. He'll just die for what he did to the arrancar.

"I'm not finished with you Grimmjow!" Madoka screamed as she turned to face him. Her body shook as she cried, wiping at the salty water that fell from her eyes. "Tora-chan didn't want that. I hope you know that. The only thing she wanted from you was love. I know that."

"I already know she loves me." Grimmjow grumbled as acid rose through his throat. He felt sick for doing what he had done to the female arrancar. His gaze fell to the sand and a sigh escaped him. "But she hates me now. She doesn't love me so there. She doesn't want me in her life so I'll accept that."

Madoka shook her head at the words that were coming from the espada. Tora wouldn't say those things even if he put her to death. She would still love him for whom he was. Leaving the other shinigami's arms, she ran up to him, throwing him into one of the dead trees. "She'll never hate you. She might have said those things but it doesn't mean anything. Tora —"

"I don't want him in my life any more Madoka-hime." Tora interjected with a blanket tossed over her frame. Clinging to the fabric tightly, her gaze drifted down to her hand that stuck out from under the blanket. Looking back up to her master, the female arrancar forced a smile on her face. "What he's saying is true. I don't want him in my life anymore."

"Tora-chan." Madoka wasn't sure what to say. It didn't seem like it was Tora saying those things. Shaking her head, throwing the punch that she wanted to do when Gin stopped her, she turned back to her subordinate. "You love him though."

"After what he put me through – he put me through hell – I don't think so. He'll just continue to get away with it because I'm not important to Aizen-sama's plans like he is." Tora stated as her head bowed.

Rolling his eyes, Grimmjow started back to his home. As he walked, wanting to hear her call out to him with that stupid little nickname he was given, he found nothing of it. He was actually alone now. Like everyone else, he tried to eat them so they know he was king.

"Tora-chan are you sure about this?" Madoka asked as she felt Gin's hands fall on her shoulders. Seeing her friend walk up to her with tears in her own eyes, she knew that the feline arrancar was lying. She didn't want to give up the man that put her through hell. Grasping her, hugging her tightly, Madoka tried to calm her down. "You don't want to give him up. You're just putting a front up aren't you?"

"Madoka-hime why me? There's tons of other arrancar he can do that to but yet he chose me."

"I don't know Tora. Let's get you some clothes and get you healed up again. We'll discuss this tonight like Kitsune-kun said." The sapphire eyed woman said as she led her friend to the building again. Knowing that what Tora said to the espada was a lie, she knew that she wouldn't give up on the man. It just meant that Tora would do anything to get him back even if she didn't want to see him anymore.
