Let's continue…

Blair felt like her head was being pushed in a bucket full of ice water, and stayed in there too long.

Oh no… No-no-no-no-no-no-no NO! This cannot be happing.

'B-' Serena tried. But Blair was too busy falling in that big black hole that was threating to consume her.

Me and that smug Basstard. Working. Together. Side. By. Side. Blair repressed a shudder.

'Blair-' Serena tried again. This time Blair looked up. 'Are you okay?' asked her worried best friend. Blair looked around and saw that they were the only two still sitting in the assembly hall. 'Where is everybody?' asked Blair still dazed. 'They left B, the assembly is over.'

'Then why are we still sitting here?' Blair asked getting more confused by the minute.

'Well after the dean finished reading the other couples names, you wouldn't move. I called you like three times before you responded.' 'It was like you were spaced out for a moment… or something.' Serena ended.

'Who is your partner actually?' Blair asked after a moment of silence. Serena sighed. 'Oh some guy called: Nathaniel Archibald.' 'I've met him at parties sometimes.' 'He is the best friend of Chuc-' Serena halted at once when she saw Blair's nostrils flare.

'Right… Chuck my partner I'd almost forgotten about him.'

'My life is over!' Blair sighed dramatically, before she put her head in her hands. Serena giggled Blair could be such a drama-queen sometimes. Scratch that all the time actually.

'It's not funny S!' Serena heard an irritated Blair say. 'It is actually, pretty funny when you think about' she couldn't help but smirk. 'Funny?' 'You think it's funny that I have to work an probably the most important project of my school carrier with Chuck freaking Bass?' 'Who tried to feel me up and who I stabbed with my heel!' 'Who is probably plotting at this very moment too take me down?' 'Who I thought I'd never see again!' 'Why does the universe hate me?' Blair sighed again dramatically before she got back to her previous position. Head placed in hands.

'You're right B now that I think about it. It's even funnier!' Serena laughed out loud now.

Blair stomped her playfully on the shoulder.

'Hey watch it! I'm kind of proud of these shoulders. Serena exclaimed.

'I'm serious S.' 'What should I do?' 'He's probably a slacker so that I have to do all the work.' 'I think that, that is the least of your problems B.' 'What do you mean?' Blair asked confused. 'Do I need to remind you of the heel ''accident''? Serena said in mocked concern.

'Oh right… ' 'I keep forgetting about that.' 'But it's no big deal. I probably just grazed him that's all' Blair said lightly. 'Still nobody thwarts the great Chuck Bass and expected to get away with it. ' Serena said with in warning in her voice.

'I can worry about that later.' 'Now I've got to find the dean and put a stop to this mess.' Blair stood up and started walking to the door. 'Blair wait up I'll come with' Serena said hastily because Blair was already by the door. Blair waited for her best friend to join. Serena caught up with her and said: 'let's go.'

Going to the dean's office has different meanings to both Blair and Serena. For Blair it was not hell like for most people but heaven. When she went there it was because she did something great. Or about her perfect school record. Or about planning some school activities. So when Blair went there she always got praise and she always got what she wanted. Why would this time be different.

For Serena it was not hell that is a too strong word for it but it wasn't pleasant either. She sometimes went there not such much as Blair. When she went there it usually was because the dean needed something from her. If your last name is van der Woodsen there comes certain… responsibilities with the name. Or to scold at her for an illegal party she threw at school premises.

When they stood in front of the dean's office.

It's like the both could read minds. 'It will be-/are you sure it will-' Blair and Serena said at the same time. They looked at each other and laughed. When they finished laughing Blair said: 'you first S.' 'No-no B you go first.' 'I insist.' Blair urged on. Serena gave up. 'Alright.' 'Are you sure it will work?' 'Because the dean said no exceptions.' Blair cut in. 'S, I'm Blair Waldorf. Nobody says no to Blair Waldorf, especially when I set my mind on something.' Blair said sure of her case. Serena was not so sure of Blair's case. 'Yes but B what if-' Blair cut her off again. 'S, I can't life in the future only in the now.' 'So I'm going in.'

Blair put her hand on the doorknob but she remembered she forgotten to say something. 'S will you wait for me when I get out?' Serena nodded 'Sure B.' Blair entered the dean's office.

After a while Serena started to worry that the Waldorf charm may be failing.

But then de door opened and her best friend came out. She did not look great. Actually she looked pissed.

'Well?' Serena asked carefully. 'It's just like you said, no exceptions' Blair sighed. 'Cheer up B maybe it's all going to be alright! her best friend chirped. 'Oh yeah it's going to be just great S! she spit out sarcastically. 'Great-great-great-great-GREAT!'

'Why does God hate me so much?' Blair said to nobody in particular. Serena sniggered 'Not God B karma!' 'Well then karma is a bitch.' Blair sniggered also.

Serena saw that Blair was holding some papers. 'What are the papers for B?' she asked curiously 'What papers? Blair asked distracted. 'The ones in your hand B.' 'Are you awake?' Serena smiled. 'Oh these.' Blair looked at the papers 'I have to give them to my partner' she rolled her eyes. 'His share of the project.'

Serena looked around for the brown haired boy. But with no luck. 'I don't see him B.' 'Of course not' Blair huffed. 'He is probably somewhere doing God knows what.'

'I'll just leave the papers in his locker.' Blair said. Before Serena could say something Blair already started walking.

While looking at locker's Serena asked: 'Do you actually know which locker is Chuck's?' Blair stopped for a moment. 'No but I don't think it's that hard to find.' 'It's probably the most unused locker in the entire school.' Blair started walking again.

When they were in the St. Jude part of the school Serena spotted Nate. And got an idea.

'Maybe Nate knows which locker is Chuck's. He is after all Chuck's best friend B.'

Blair answered while looking: 'Nate?' 'How did you come up with that idea all of a sudden?'

'He's standing right there.'

Before Blair could argue Serena pulled her along. Serena waved at Nate and he waved back.

'Hey Nate!' Nate was surprised by the spontaneous greeting from the leggy blond and her friend. 'Hey! Serena right?' Nate asked unsure. 'Yes.' 'We are partners in the project.' Serena said. 'Oh right! Now I remember.' 'Sometimes my brain is a little foggy' he said, laughing.

'What can I do for you?' Nate asked. 'Well my friend Blair here is partners with your friend Chuck.' 'Really?' he said with a smirk. He couldn't hide his surprise if he tried. 'And-'

Blair cut in. She found it a little bit silly that Serena talked for her.

'I wanted to drop these papers off in his locker. 'Well he hardly ever uses his locker.' Blair shot Serena a ''I-told-you-so'' look. 'So it's probably best if you dropped it off at his suite.'

Dear Lord thought Blair.

'And where is that if I may ask?' Blair asked through gritted teeth. 'The Palace, suite 1812' Nate said. Not taken aback by Blair's bitchiness.

'Alright Blair sighed Serena are you coming?' Serena hesitated. 'Actually- B I would like to discuss with Nate about our project.' Serena smiled weakly at her best friend. 'Fine!' Blair sighed irritated. 'One more thing' Blair pulled Serena aside. 'Excuse us for a moment' Blair said to Nate.

'If I'm not back within 2 hours you'll know I've killed him' said Blair ominously. Serena couldn't help but smile at her best friend. And with that ''warning'' Blair took off.

When Blair arrived at the Palace Hotel she couldn't help to stand still for a moment. She had been here almost a hundred times. Whenever Lily van der Woodsen thought it was time to redecorate their apartment again Serena and her family stayed here. But this time it felt different somehow. She couldn't admire the building for long because she was here on a mission.

So she stepped inside and went straight to the elevator.

Blair heard the soft ding when the elevator stopped at the designated floor. Blair stepped out and thought: Alright let's go find suite 1812.

It wasn't difficult to find the entire floor consisted of only one suite.

Blair stood in front of the door but hesitated to knock. Pull yourself together Blair. Waldorf's don't get scared! Before she could think about it further she knocked.

Blair waited a while and knocked again. This is ridiculous it's like I'm waiting for approval to enter the lion's den. She knocked again only this time harder but at her touch the door opened.

The door wasn't even locked? Blair sighed and entered.

The apartment was simply amazing. It was over the top jet classy. Expensive jet not over the top. With a breathtaking view of the city.

My God I am in the lion's den. But I have to admit the lion's got style. Blair thought to herself

Blair stepped further and called 'Hello?' 'Anybody there?' Suddenly she heard laughing and a door slam. Then a voice. 'I'll be right there ladies make yourself comfortable.'

Chuck Bass glided from what Blair thought was supposedly the master bedroom into the living room. His shirt was opened and his was only wearing boxers.

He spotted Blair immediately and stood still. They looked each other right in the eye for a moment neither of them wanted to break the spell. Chuck did eventually.

'Waldorf…'

'Bass…' she answered.
