A/N: Hello, hello!

Sorry for the long wait. I had a typical nasty Dutch cold.

Thank you Sallysally for your lovely long review!

You gave me the boost to continue this story!

The only thing I have to say about this week's episode is: 'dramatic sigh…'

Let's continue…

'Pass me the gravy' Chuck said while taking a big chunk out of his chicken leg and reaching for the mashed potatoes

'Please.' Blair continued to nibble on her celery stick.

'What?' Chuck looks up stopping his assault on the fowl.

'Pass me the gravy please.' 'Manners would be nice Charles' Blair stated not looking up nor down.

'Oh I forget I'm dinning with a lady aren't I?' Chuck sneered.

'Yes you are.' 'I'm glad that you picked up on that little piece of information.' Blair took a sip from her water.

'But correct me if I'm wrong princess.' 'Wasn't it you who smoked a joint with me and then pushed me in a fountain on broad daylight?' 'That are hardly things a lady like yourself does, doesn't it sweetheart?'

Blair blushed a bit and took another big sip from her water.

'I didn't think so huh' Chuck said triumphant. 'Now hand me the gravy.'

Blair grumbled passing over the gravy admitting defeat.

They ate in silence for a while the only thing you heard were Chuck's slurps and bites.

After they were finished and had set all the plates back on the room-service cart Blair tried to leave again but was stopped again.

'Alright thanks for dinner I guess and I'll see you at school.' Blair stood up and reached over for her coat. She was stopped by Chuck's hand.

'Don't you want a nightcap to end this eventful day?' he asked.

'Why?' she asked. This guy wouldn't let her go he's like a pit-bull. I wonder why she thought to herself.

'Humor me' he only said and walked to the bar.

'Fine' Blair sighed dropped her coat and went to sit on one of the barstools.

'One drink and one drink only then I'm gone. It's late and it's a Sunday I have to get my beauty sleep before school starts.'

'You're beautiful already without the beauty sleep' Chuck said while inching closer.

Blair shoved him away a bit. 'No.' 'Flattery won't help you this time Chuck I'm leaving after I finished my drink.'

'It's not?' he asks. Blair shakes her head. 'Make me my drink already. It isn't polite to keep a lady waiting.'

'I thought we've already established you're no lady.'

Blair didn't give an inch.

'But if you insist…' 'What will you have?' 'A dirty martini please' 'Oeh dirty' he gives a suggestive eyebrow wiggle 'not a drink for a lady.' Blair smiles and shakes her head but she still wouldn't take the bait.

Chuck fixes Blair's drink and for himself he pours a scotch. Blair takes a hearty sip. Chuck finishes his scotch off in seconds. He still isn't satisfied so he pulls out another joint. 'Want a drag?' he asks holding out the joint. 'No thanks I've had enough for one day but don't let me stop you.' 'Don't mind if I do' and he ignites it.

Soon the tangy smell of pot fills the suite. Blair scrunches up her nose a bit. She sees Chuck taking long drags and inhaling it deeply. He seems to enjoy it because his eyes are shut.

They stood like that for a while he with his eyes closed shut and she sipping on her martini.

Blair traced the rim of her glass with her finger trying to find the right words to say something.

'I'm sorry to hear about your mom' came out Blair's mouth. She scares herself this wasn't what she wanted to say. But it's already too late to take it back Chuck opened his eyes.

'Has she passed away recently?' Blair asked since he wasn't responding. What hell am I doing Blair asked herself it's like a waterfall of words.

'No.'

'She died a long time ago' his voice was hard and cold. Still Blair could find a small trace of sorrow.

'That must've been awful for you?'

'You must've been very young when it happened' Blair asked carefully.

'I was.'

'My father raised me.'

'I can't remember my mother that much and my father don't likes talking about her.'

Chuck wished he hadn't said that last part it made him look too vulnerable. And Bass men didn't do vulnerable or any kind of emotion really. Blair reached out for his hand and enclosed it with her own. She felt him stiffen under her touch immediately.

'It's getting late and I think you should go' Chuck pulled his hand away and walked towards her coat. 'Have you finished your drink?' Blair drank the remaining residue up in one big gulp and hopped off the barstool. He handed her, her coat and opened the door. Blair a little confused at the sudden cold treatment took a moment to comprehend what was happening.

When she was done she slid her arms in her coat and buttoned it up. She walked towards the open door but before she went out she kissed Chuck on the cheek and said: 'I truly am sorry to hear about your mother' and walked out.

When she stood out in the hall and waited for the elevator to come up she looked back but saw that the door was already closed. As she stood in the elevator going down she realized that her bag was still in Chuck's suite. I will get it tomorrow she thought. I have a feeling that Chuck wouldn't open the door if I would go back.

Blair stepped out of the elevator walked out of the hotel and hailed a cab. She gave the directions at the driver and soon she was off.

A new day a fresh start Blair thought when she woke up the next morning.

Dorota came bustling in the room with a breakfast tray with delicious breakfast goodies on it. Blair only picked up a strawberry and popped it into her mouth.

'Thank you Dorota.' 'Have you ironed my uniform?'

'Yes miss Blair' answered the maid obediently.

Blair looked around but saw nowhere her plaid skirt and blue blazer.

'Well where is it then?'

Dorota looked around and saw she hadn't brought it with her.

'I'll go get it miss Blair' the maid turned around and headed towards the door. Before she turned she turned the doorknob and opened the door she remembered something.

'And also miss Blair.'

'Yes?' Blair looked questionly at her Polish maid.

'You have a visitor.'

'Yes Serena I know.' 'Honestly Dorota she comes here for the last 4 years or so to pick me up. You don't have to say that anymore.'

Blair turned around and headed towards the bathroom.

'Not only Miss Serena is here but also a Mr. Bass.'

Blair's head popped around the corner.

'Mr. Bass are you sure?'

'Yes if he is tall, strong build, brooding and a brunette?'

'Also he says his name is Mr. Bass.'

Blair pondered on what he possibly could be doing here so early in the morning.

'Should I send him away miss Blair?' 'No it's fine tell him I'll be down shortly.'

Dorota made her way to the door again.

'And don't forget to bring my uniform!' and Blair slams the bathroom door shut.

Meanwhile down in the foyer two people were waiting on the brunette to appear and ascend the marble staircase.

Serena was surprised to see Chuck Bass of all people coming out of the Waldorf's lift and walking casually into the foyer telling Dorota he needed to see Blair. She was just going to wait on her best friend in silence, but her curiosity got the best of her.

'So…'

'What do you say why you wanted to speak to Blair again?' Serena asked curiously.

'I didn't' he replied.

'But I'm only dropping off her bag she left at my place yesterday.'

'Ah yes Sunday.' 'Had an eventful day with Blair?'

'Not really just…'

'Just what Chuck?' Serena asked eagerly.

'Working' he answered.

'Really.' 'Nothing out of the ordinary?'

Chuck didn't like where this conversation was going. He didn't like it one bit.

'No.' 'Like I said just working.'

'Why the sudden interest? he asked suspiciously. 'Afraid I tarnished your best friend?' 'Turned her over to the dark side?' Chuck said with a smirk.

Serena saw there was no point in continuing this conversation he wouldn't budge.

'Never mind Bass' Serena said with an annoyed huff. 'I was just making small talk to get to know you.' 'But never mind now' and Serena stepped away.

'If all you wanted is to get to know me then we could always find a quiet corner.'

'Just the two of us' he added sultry. Serena was about to respond when they heard.

'Ahem.'

They looked up and saw Blair leaning over the banister of the stairs.

'Oh please don't stop on my account, even if this is my house' she added shooting daggers with her eyes at her two visitors.

She ascended the stairs and stood on even ground with them.

Serena hurried to Blair's side. 'It's nothing B, Chuck and were just chatting a bit weren't we Chuck?' also shooting daggers with her eyes at the other brunette in the foyer.

'If you say so S.'

'By the way what are you doing here Bass?' she asked not remembering the niceties.

She was just so consumed with anger (and dare she name it jealousy?) when she saw Chuck and Serena so intimately speaking. It still hadn't subsided

A little taken aback by the hostile mood Blair was showing towards him. Chuck didn't know what to say, but he composed quickly.

'Just dropping off your bag you left at my suite yesterday Waldorf.' 'Thought you might need it' he added in a softer tone. After I unceremoniously shoved you out of my suite he added in his mind.

Chuck hold out her bag.

Blair's mood mellowed a bit when she heard the softer tone in his voice.

'Oh well thank you' and she grabbed her bag. Hands touching each other lightly. She felt a weird tinkling feeling on her hand when they touched.

Together they stood in an awkward silence for a minute or two. Blair was about to say something when Chuck beat her to it.

'Well that was all so I'm going now.' He walked towards the elevator and pushed the button. The elevator has come up and before he stepped he turned around. 'See you at school ladies.' He stepped into the elevator and was gone just like that.

'Okay what was that all about?' Serena asked eyeing her best friend closely.

'Nothing.' 'You've just heard he was only dropping off my bag.'

'B-' Serena began.

Blair put on a fake smile and waved her off. 'It's nothing S.' 'Now come our we'll be late for school.' She pulled Serena towards the elevator.

Once they were outside and started walked towards the school Serena couldn't wait to stalk Blair with questions.

'So…' Serena started.

'Spit it out S'

'Spit what out B?' the blond asked innocently.

'I know you must be bursting with questions about my Sunday with Chuck.' 'But I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you S, nothing happened.'

'Let me guess. You've just worked?'

'Yes in matter of fact we did. How did you know?'

'Oh Chuck said the same thing…' Serena said evasive, opening up a window for suggestions.

As she expected Blair took the bait.

'Chuck?' 'What else did he say?' Blair asked trying to sound not too curious.

'That you two were just working.' Serena saw the relief wash over Blair's face.

'Why did something happen between you two?'

'No nothing.' Unless you qualify soaking in Central Park's fountain 'something.'

'Are you sure?'

'Nothing happened?' 'Not even something wet?'

Blair had to command herself to keep walking when she heard Serena confirm her suspicion. Otherwise she would have surely stopped and stared at her best friend.

How could she know? Blair thought panicky.

'Serena you have to trust me when I say nothing happened between me and Chuck Bass and nothing will happen' she said confidently hands shaking just a bit.

Serena couldn't held it in any longer.

'You don't have to lie to me Blair, I saw the picture.' This made Blair stop and stare at her blond best friend.

'Picture? What picture?' Blair willed her best friend to look her in the eyes.

'The one were and Chuck are spotted stepping out of Central Park's fountain, soaking wet I might add.'

Crap.

One thing still wasn't clear. Where did Serena got that picture.

'And where did you get that little piece of information?'

'The internet,' Serena said nonchalantly like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Oh no.

'THE-' was all Blair could form at the time.

She couldn't believe that it was out already and on the internet for crying out loud! Whoever has done this don't they have a life? No instead they're going to make my life a living hell!

'…internet?' Blair asked when she could form whole sensible sentences again.

Serena was tired from playing this whole 'cat and mouse game' with Blair. She wanted answers and juicy details.

'Yes but the whole photo was blurry and taking from a distance, so only the people that really know you (like me) can figure out that it's you and Chuck.'

'Thank God' Blair released the sigh she had hold in while hearing the news.

They started walking again.

'But enough about that. The more important question is: what happened!' Serena looked up expectantly for the slightest bit of change in Blair's countenance. Blair only tensed up a bit.

'Nothing really it was just an unfortunate misstep.' 'Well that-' Serena air-quoted ''unfortunate misstep'' landed you both in the fountain according to this picture.'

'Now come tell the truth and don't leave anything out!' badgered Serena.

'We just went for a stroll in the park to clear our minds. So we could focus on our assignment' Blair started.

She really didn't understand why Serena was hyped up about this news. Sure falling in a fountain was not a part of Blair's usual routine. And certainly not with Chuck Bass. Maybe Chuck was the problem in Serena's eyes. Afraid that he would turn me over to the 'dark side.' I'll just have to assure Serena that- that never is going to happen.

'Go on' Serena urged.

'And well I took him to duck pond because that's the most soothing place I know in the park.' 'Suddenly he takes out of his pocket a joint and starts lighting it up. I said that he couldn't do that here but he refused to listen.' 'After he lighted it he... sort of asked me if would like a hit.'

Blair stopped there not really sure if she should tell the whole truth. But then again it is Serena she has done far things worse.

Serena noticed the hesitation in Blair's voice and asked playfully. 'Blair Cornelia Waldorf have you done something bad?' 'Something unladylike?'

'No.'

'Maybe.'

'Kind of.'

'Yes' Blair ended.

'I took a hit and Chuck and I smoked it up.' Serena found it too amusing to interrupt. She would have loved to see her best friend throw away her society princess mask and go crazy. She wondered how Chuck Bass of all people got her to do that.

'After that I started blabbering and acting like a crazy person.' 'We were halfway through the park when two officers were coming our way and I was still acting like a crazy person.'

'We needed a distraction so one thing led to another.'

'Part of your distraction was getting into a fountain? Isn't that like attracting more attention?' Serena asked.

They had arrived at the front gate of the school. A loud chatter greeted them at the gate. All kinds of people were scurrying in the courtyard trying to find the perfect place to stand.

'Well that was all triggered due to a prior event' Blair replied. 'Honestly S, that boy is not good for my reputation. In one day he has persuade me to smoke up a joint, act like a crazy person, almost got me arrested, kissed me without my consent and pulled me into a fountain because he assumed that I deliberately pushed him into a fountain.'

Blair heard Serena's small intake of breath when she said 'kissed.'

'Wait, back up a sec he kissed you?' Serena exclaimed shocked and a little appalled.

Fortunately for Blair the bell rang. And they needed to go to their separate classes. So Serena had no more time left to interrogate her further on the question.

'S I have to go and really it wasn't that big of a deal.'

'I'm just glad he held it by only kissing.' 'We know he can do much worse.'

'Kissing? There were multiple kisses?' Serena asked still dazed.

'Goodbye S. I'll see you later.'

Blair passed the iron gates and walked towards the door with the rest of the students leaving her stunned best friend behind. She had to go to class. And after the weekend she had, Blair couldn't afford to cause any more rumors. But she figured one more rumor couldn't hurt her. She needed to talk to Chuck and see if he can make the picture go away. Surely he must have seen it and hopefully not have told anybody else that the ones in the picture are him and me.

If he did well…

Then there's going hell to pay.

And Chuck Bass is on top of the list of receiving it.

Blair pushed the doors open and went up in the crowd.
