Okay, fifth chapter, sorry it's a short one. It's sort of a pivotal point in the story so I wanted to save the rest for the next chapter. Hope you enjoy it, PM and review.
BUTTER'S POV:
I was dragged out of slumber by my alarm clock buzzing. 8:00 AM. I can't believe it's Monday already. I got up and got ready for school.
In half an hour, I was ready to go. I took my LMFAO Shuffling hooded sweatshirt out of my closet and pulled it on. I grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulder.
I opened the door, letting out a sigh as I saw snow falling from the dark grey clouds above. I wiped my hands down across my face before stepping out. I didn't care if I got any snow on me. I only had one task for today.
Ask Craig out.
It was going to be difficult but I had to do it.
I took out my iPhone and got my headphones out of my bag. I plugged them in, placed them over my ears and flicked through my songs. I really have too many on here.
I found 50 Ways by Train and selected it. It was a decent change from the stuff I usually listen to.
Me quietly singing along to Rammstein, twirling slightly whilst listening Scooter and slowly bopping to Jay-Z and Kanye West are all common sights around the school.
I'm not embarrassed by the music I listen to. If anyone doesn't like it, they don't have to listen to it. I'm not one of those people that sticks to one musical genre.
Metal, dance, club, techno, hardcore, industrial, jumpstyle, hardstyle, dubstep, rap and hip-hop all clutter my iPhone.
I can't go a day without music. If I can't listen to it, I play it. I joined the glee club a month ago today. Craig plays bass for the club as well. I hope someone remembers it's been a whole month.
I continued into the school, earlier than most other students. I don't see why no-one else arrives on time. School starts at 8:30, not whenever the hell you want it to.
I decided to wait for a few minutes seeing as only half of the teachers are here.
As I sat in front of my locker, I scrolled through my music to find something else to listen to. I found Stan by Eminem and, without even thinking, leant my head back, shut my eyes and blocked out everything.
I just focused on the music. I took in every word and every meaning behind those words.
I was so deep in my musical coma, I didn't notice someone walking up to me.
"Hey, Leo."
I opened my eyes but didn't move my head. It was Craig. I immediately lifted myself up, taking off my headphones and trying to disguise how dazed I was by his sudden appearance.
"Hey, Craig." I said, making sure I wasn't blushing too much.
"I haven't seen you at school for a while."
"Yeah, well, Ruta dumped me, so I got the week off."
"Oh." He said, no sign of emotion in his voice.
"I didn't actually care too much about it. I think I liked her as a friend and I sort of got love and friendship mixed up."
"Hm."
"Am I gonna be doing all the talking in this conversation?"
"Probably."
"Anyway, what's been going on with you?"
"Not much."
"Anything worth mentioning?"
"Not really."
"Oh, for fuck's sake..." I muttered.
"What?"
"Nothing, I just thought after not speaking to me for a whole week, you'd have something to talk about."
"Can't think of anything."
"Ugh, well, I sort of realised I'm gay after Ruta broke up with me."
"Really?" He said, with some interest.
"Yeah, I was sort of bi before I got together with Ruta but now, it's just, I feel gay."
"Hm."
"So, what are we doing in glee club to-"
"Leo, do you wanna go out sometime?"
I was shocked to the spot. If he just said what I thought he said, I might pass out.
"W-what?"
"Do you wanna go out sometime?"
"Uh, y-yeah, of course."
"Okay. How 'bout tonight at my place, after school?"
"Ye-yeah, sure."
Holy crap. It had actually just happened. Craig asked me out.
I could feel my heart thudding heavily as if it was trying to escape my rib cage. I could feel my legs shaking and my voice had gone higher. I really liked him.
I managed to stay stable enough to walk into the choir room for the glee meeting before the lessons start.
"Hey, Mister Shue." Craig muttered as he walked in and sat down on a chair he yanked out from a desk.
"H-hey, Mister, uh, uh..."
"Shue?"
"Yeah, Shue."
"Are you okay, Leo? You look a little flustered."
"Yeah, I'm fine."
I sat down next to Craig and gave him a slight smile.
When he smiled back, I almost fell off my chair.
A few of the other members were looking at me with suggestive eyes.
"What?" I said, with a small chuckle.
"Nothing." Token said, turning away to gossip with Bebe.
I was still shaky and could barely get myself comfortable on my chair.
"Hey, Leo, could you hand me a pen?"
"Y-yeah, I can." I said, pulling a pen out of my bag.
As he took the pen from my hand, our fingers touched and I quivered, making my heart race.
It's official. I'm smitten.
