Chapter 3. Assassination Plot
Maya looked at Klahadore, what the hell is he doing here? "Hide." She whispered, they layed their stomach down on the hill while Maya hid behind the tree.
There was another guy there with Klahadore. Weird sunglasses and…what kind of beard is that?
"Jango, I thought I said to keep a low profile. You were asleep in the middle of the damn town!" Jango shook his head. "That's not true! I don't stick out! I'm not weird!" Has his head recently been damaged? Maya thought.
"Who's that weird guy?" Luffy whispered. "No idea, never seen him before." Usopp whispered back.
"So, have the preparations been set?" Klahadore asked, pushing his glasses up. Jango nodded, "Of course. Operation 'Murder Miss Kaya' has been set."
Usopp gasped. Murder Miss Kaya? They all thought. Usopp glanced at Maya, she was shaking, she looked terrified. She looked back at him with wide eyes.
They want to kill my sister! Maya thought in panic.
"Murder is such an ugly word, Jango." "Oh right, it's going to be an accident." Jango corrected himself. "Sorry, Captain Kuro."
Maya gasped, Kuro? The Captain Kuro? She was really close to hyperventilating.
"Don't call me that. I discarded that name years ago."Klaha- er Kuro said.
"What are they talking about?" Luffy asked. "That's what I'd like to know. Wait! I've heard that name before! Kuro's a pirate known for his cunning strategies and calculated plundering. But-"
"He was supposedly executed a long time ago! What's he doing pretending to be a butler?" Maya asked, panic in her voice.
That's when Jango gave them the answers.
"I gotta say, you really surprised me then. When you gave up your life of piracy by turning in one of your men disguised as yourself."
Maya looked at Usopp and Luffy in horror. He exchanged one of his own men to give up being a pirate?
"And so the world believed Captain Kuro had been executed. But little did they know you were very much alive and well in this little village. And then three years later, you summoned me back.
"Of course you've never steered me wrong in the past, so I'm fine with your plan as long as I come out with full pockets." Kuro nodded. "Yes, when we succeed, you'll get your money."
"If there's killing to be done, you can count on me!" Kuro sighed, "The important part is not about killing her, it must be made to look like Miss Kaya perished as an accident. This is crucial, do not forget it!"
Maya was pissed now. They're treating Kaya's death like a toy. When she gets her hands on that butler she-
"So you must use your hypnotist skills to force Kaya to write a will! It shall read; 'to my butler, Klahadore, I leave my entire estate.'"
Usopp stared at them, the pieces coming together in his mind; Kuro wants to kill Kaya for her money!
"…thus making my claim for her fortune solid as a rock. I have spent three hard years making sure the local townspeople's trust in me was firm so this would not cause any suspicion from anyone!" "What about that sister you mentioned? Isn't she a bit hostile to you?"
Maya flinched as Jango brought her up in the conversation.
"You can kill Maya for all I care. She'd just get in the way anyway."
Like hell you will.
"That would keep the government off my tail; and give me a peace of mind. I am a pacifist after all."
A pacifist? Who the hell does this guy think he is?
"Hahaha! A pacifist! You? You make a pretty crappy pacifist! Killing an entire family just for your peace of mind!"
Maya flinched again, more visibly this time; He…killed Mom and Dad?
"Your wrong. Miss Kaya's parents died of a natural cause. I did not foresee their deaths."
Maya sighed in relief. Despite all he's about to do, she knew he wasn't lying about that.
"Alright, give me the signal when your ready…my men are getting restless."
They all stared at him in horror, well, Luffy looked indifferent, but he's an idiot.
"Th-This is awful! I can't believe what we're hearing!" Usopp said. "What's going on? Sounds really dodgy. "Luffy said. You have to be kidding! Maya face palmed. "Haven't you been listening! This is serious! These guys are for real!"
Maya glared at Kuro, "That bastard!" She said, "This entire time all he wanted was Kaya's money!"
Usopp nodded, "And he's none other than Captain Kuro! I couldn't have picked a worse guy to slug! I'm a dead man! And he's going to kill Kaya and the village!" Maya put her hands on her head, "This is bad, this is really, really bad!" She said.
And then, like the smart guy he is, Luffy stood up from his hiding spot. "What are you doing?" Maya whispered fiercely.
"HEY YOU TWO! DON'T KILL MISS KAYA!" Oh God…he didn't. Maya face palmed again.
"You moron! They just saw you!" Usopp yelled, getting up. "What about you!" Maya pointed out, a bit louder than she wanted.
"Well well, is that Usopp and Maya I hear?"
"Damn it!" Maya cursed, walking away from her hiding spot "They saw us too!" Usopp cried.
"You didn't hear anything…did you?" He asked, a glint of devil in his eyes.
"No! We didn't hear squat!" Usopp assured, "In fact, we just got here!" "We heard everything." Luffy said. "IDIOT!" Maya yelled, whacking him on the head.
"So you did hear." Jango pulled out a weird, yet thin looking blade. Crap! He throws that, we're dead! Maya thought. "Look closely at this wheel…" Jango said, swinging it lightly from left to right.
Wait a minute…
"What's that?" Luffy asked, staring at it.
"When I say 'One, two, Jango' you'll be very sleepy. One, two…"
"Get down!" She yelled, tackling the two boys on the ground.
"…Jango!" Jango fell asleep.
"Damn it Jango! How does one hypnotize himself?" Kuro asked in exasperation.
"What was that for?" Usopp asked, "Shhh! Pretend you're asleep!" "What?" "Just do it!"
Kuro looked up at the three snoozing teenagers, "Well, at least they have been affected as well." He said, "Okay, Jango," He said once Jango woke up, "Tomorrow morning you will assault the village at dawn, ransack the houses, make it look like a random attack, and kill Miss Kaya."
"Tomorrow?" Usopp whispered. "Shh!
Then they glanced at Luffy, HE ACTUALLY FELL ASLEEP? Maya mentally face palmed.
Luffy, being an idiot even in his sleep rolled on his side…and fell down the cliff! "Oh shi-"

See? Even if he didn't get hypnotized, Luffy would've still fallen from the cliff!
