Chapter 4

Dimitri POV

I stepped out of the shower and heard the beep that meant I had a message. I pressed the button and put the phone to my ear. "Hey comrade." Instantly I knew it was Rose. "It's Rose if you haven't figured that out already. I need to talk to you like really badly so call me back." The message ended. Tose sounded upset. Hurt, upset , and somewhat broken.

I love Rose. I really do. But I had to break it off between us. Our love was wrong. I somewhat felt like a pedophile. I know I promised her I'd stay. But when it comes down to it, she needs to find someone her own age. Possibly Ivahkov. That made me angry but he was better for her than me.

I have into my softer side. Rose needed me. Instead of calling her, I decided to go back to St. Vlad's where I could see what's wrong with my Roza.

I was in Russia on leave to see my family. I had about two weeks here because it was around Biktoria's birthday. Her actual birthday was yesterday so I didn't feel bad about leaving.

I walked down the stairs and out the door leaving a note for mom and the rest of them.

The plane ride was longer than fuck and I still had to drive an hour from the airport to the academy. I forgot how far Baia was from St. Vlad's.

I got through all the check points and went straight to Alberta's office. To say she gave me a weird look would be an understatement. She had an almost panicked look. But she hid it well.

"Guardian Belikov. What are you doing here?"

"Rose called me and said she needed to talk to me." Alberta nodded and I swear she smiled. Then she slapped me.

"That was for leaving and causing this mess." She slapped me again. "And that was for sleeping with a student."

"She told you that?" I asked as I blushed and rubbed my now sore cheek.

"Well she had to considering… Well I'll let her tell you that." I was still rubbing my cheek. That hurt! I wondered what Roza had to say to me. "She's in class. Go find her."

I nodded and looked at the time. Great. She was in Stan's class. I got along with him about as well as Roza did.

I slipped into the back of the classroom without being notice. Rose sat there staring at her open text book. She usually never even opened it. She sat there quietly the entire period. Stan didn't even antagonize her. Something was going on.

Towards the end of class they had free time. Rose was talking to Eddie. I couldn't help myself. I walked up to her and hugged her from behind. "Adrian!" she squealed and turned around. I stiffened. Why would Rose think that it would be Ivashkov? She stiffened when she saw me and her smile melted from her face. Then she kicked me in the nuts.

Tears sprang to my eyes as I fell to the floor. I refused to make a sould. I deserved the kick. She slapped me across the face. Yep. I deserved that to. Rose was about to hit me again when Stan-of all people-pulled her back and started whispering in her ear. She nodded and started walking out the door. She hesitated about halfway out. "Coming Belikov?" she called back.

I stood up dispite the pain in my balls and walked after her. We walked all the way to her dorm before she even acknowledged that I was there. She sat on her bed so I sat in her desk chair.

She faced me angrily with tears in her eyes. I longed to hug her and make those tears go away. But I wouldn't try that again.

"Why are you here?" she asked me.

"You said you needed to talk to me."

"I meant over the phone." The tears started falling.

"What do ou need to tell me?"

She shook her head. "You won't believe me."

I rolled my eyes. Rose was being dramatic. It couldn't be that bad. "Tell me anyway."

Rose got up from the bed and came over to me. She lifted up her shirt to expose her stomach. There was a slight bulge. She grabbed my hand and placed it on her bulge. It was rock hard. "Do you feel that?" I nodded. "That's your baby."

I dropped my hand. "No it's not." Was she this desperate to get me back?

"Yes it is. Why would I lie about that?"

"I don't know. But there's no way that kid could be mine."

"You're the only possible father! I haven't slept with anyone else!"

"Obviously you have if you're pregnant!" We were both screaming at this point. I was pretty sure the only reason nobody came running was because they were all in school. I lowered my voice. "We're both dhampirs. It's impossible for us to conceive a child."

Her tears were like knives to my heart as she cried harder. "But it is possible. Our child is right here." She laid a hand on her still bare stomach.

I shook my head. "You know as well as I do that this," I put my on top of hers, "Isn't my child."

She slapped my hand off of her. "I told them you wouldn't believe me. If you really think that this isn't your child, then just leave. You have no reason to be here. As soon as it's born I'll do a DNA test and prove to you that this is your child." I opened my mouth to say something but she stopped me. "Just go, Dimitri Belikov, just go."

I nodded and started to leave. I reached the door and opened it, "Я люблю тебя Роза," I whispered to myself.
