Chapter 6

Rose POV

Six months went by quickly. My dad hadn't left me. He was just in my mom's room doing God knows what. Dimitri left after a few days. Thanks to me, Dimitri hasn't gotten his ass kicked yet. Abe really wanted to. I ended up having to drop out of school. I couldn't take my trials anyway. Now I was living with my mom and dad. Of course they got back together. Like I didn't see that coming.

I was staying at their house until the babies were born. Did I mention I was having quads? Yep four of them little suckers in there. Three boys and one girl. I know it's not fair, only one girl, but it's not my fault that one embryo split into three. That was the problem though. The boys were still conjoined.

I was sitting on the living room floor trying to be calm. It didn't work. I yelled for the only person I could think of that could help me. "Momma!" Janine came running down the stairs.

"What Rose?" Then she saw the liquid around me. "Ibrahim! Get your ass in the car!" She then helped me to the car. I sat in the back seat. My dad slipped into the driver's seat and we took off barely after mom closed her door.

Yep. I was going into labor. And let me tell you. It sucked! The pain was excruciating on every contraction. Abe was driving like a maniac toward the closest moroi hospital.

Once we got there and had me settled in, the contractions were coming closer and closer together. They had to give me a c-section. Ugh. Scars. The boys came out first. It took three doctors to get them out without hurting them. They carted my boys off before I could even see them. Next was my baby girl. She cried as she came out. I saw little almost non existant canine teeth. She would have fangs when she was older. That scared me. Was she strigoi?

The doctors took her away. "Where are you going with my babies? "

"Relax miss Hathaway. We have to clean them up and run some tests. We also have to separate your boys. It won't take very long but they'll have scars for the rest of their lives where they were attached." I nodded and let my dad calm me.

I was stitched up and they put me in another room for recovery. I couldn't leave the hospital for three days. I was going to be bored. They brought the newly separated boys and my girl. The boy that was on the left was Zakariah Mitchel. The one in the middle was Alekxandre Masen. The one on the right was Nikoli Daniel. My baby girl was Aleksi Jade. Unless Dimitri stepped up and was a man, the little chillins' last names would be Hathaway. The doctor came up to me. "Miss Hathaway, all of your children are moroi." He walked off even though I stared after him.

If only Dimitri could see them. There would be no doubt that these were his children. They looked so much like him. The tears started to run down my face. My dad wiped them away. "It'll be okay baby girl." I nodded my agreement and looked back at my kids.

Lissa came in then followed by a reluctant Christian. "Where are the babies?" I pouted but pointed to their cribs. She went over and picked Alekzandre up. I laughed at the look of pure joy on her face.

Three days later I was sitting in the living room of Lissa's house staring at my babies who were sleeping in their carseats. I was living with Lissa now. Just as her friend seeing as I haven't graduated. She had two other guardians which she also had protecting me and the quads. I had gotten the DNA test and sent it to Dimitri in the mail.

It was their third birthday when it happened. I had gone to wake them up to surprise them. I started with Alek. I tickled him awake and he cried out in pain. Instantly I stopped and lifted up his shirt. He had a whole bunch of bruises that hadn't been there last night. I remembered idly that random bruising was a symptom of something serious. I went to Lissa carrying Alek.

"Can you watch the kids? I'm taking Alek to the doctor."

"What's wrong with him?"

I lifted up his shirt in response. "Those weren't there yesterday."

Lissa nodded and sent me to the car. I got him in and took him to the hospital. The E.R. people immediately took him away from me the second I showed them the bruising. They rushed him out and I tried to follow but they wouldn't let me.

It took hours until a doctor finally came up to me. "Miss Hathaway?"

I stood up. "Yes?"

"Your son seems to have leukemia. We have him on kemo right now. But he's so young that I don't think it's going to do him any good." I broke down and sobbed. I didn't care who saw.

"Can I see him please?" They nodded and led me down a corridor. They opened a door and we stepped inside. Alek was laying down on the bed crying.

"I want my mommy!" He was truly my child. There was no doubt about that. I wiped my eyes and walked up to him.

I placed a hand on his head. "I'm right here baby." He lifted his arms for me to pick him up. I turned to the doctor. "Can I?" He nodded so I picked my baby up. "Happy birthday Alek."

"Why do I have to stay here mommy?"

"You're sick baby."

"Oh." Was all he said.

I grabbed my cell phone in my pocket and dialed Lissa's home number knowing she would be there. She picked up on the first ring. "Hello?"

"Liss, can you bring the kids down to the hospital along with my parents?" I didn't try to hide the tears in my voice.

"What's wrong? Is Alek okay?" I almost lost it there

"No he's not. Just bring everyone here and I'll explain." She hung up. I put my phone away and laid back with my baby boy against my chest. I let the tears come as they would. Alek didn't question me.

I know I'm so evil! I told you It would get worse with how demented my mind is. So cliffhanger! What will happen now? Frankly I don't even know. I have a vague sense of where it's going but nothing really solid. If you want send me what you want to happen in a comment. I might do it. I might not. Review please! ^-^
